$270 Omi Beef & Lobster in Kyoto - Gourmet Food in Japan
Vložit
- čas přidán 8. 11. 2018
- Omi Wagyu Beef belongs to the 3 most reputable cattle breeds in Japan (beside Kobe Beef and Matsusaka Beef). The highest quality A5 Wagyu, such as Omi beef, is usually firm to the bite with a distinct strong taste of beef. Unlike medium and lower quality A5 Wagyu, which "melts in your mouth" like a piece of butter, a rather unpleasant sensation for most people.
In this restaurant usually 80 g of Omi Beef are served for the set lunch meal. I asked for additional 40 g (4,000 Yen/35 USD), the chef put 10 g on top for free. Without the lobster and with the regular 80 g steak, the lunch is about half the price.
Interestingly the chef spoke only Japanese and French, they English speaking waiter explains the different food items. Filmed in Kyoto, Japan.
That soup broth looked so clean and refreshing. The steak looked phenomenal 👌 I like how it almost looked like the lobster was dancing while it cooked lol
The steak was pressed down in the cooking process... most amateurs know not to do that, so to call it phenomenal is a BIT of an overstatment. Also the fact you got joy from seeing an animal squirm on a hotplate (alive or dead) is pretty weird
@@RageMageD "Don't press down on steak" much like don't flip steak or burgers in fact has little to nothing to do with the process. In this case you wouldn't really need to since the steak's down on the heat without a problem and not curving. The idea that it will lose flavor or dry out is an old wife's tale unless you slam it down with a hammer.
Because the lobster was still alive even when they are cut to half.
Japanese also apprecaite live sashimi.
If you're western or a vegan arbiter of virtue, please pass judgment & be outrage like children.
Damn, you're right.
Where can I dine in your restaurant so I can eat perfectly made steaks man?
RageMageD You do realize that this is special type of meat right? This steak has wonderful inter-muscular marbling. To press down on the steak is to pass heat through it. Nothing more or less. Perhaps the amateur here is the one to draw attention to and malign a perfect stranger’s praise to a chef’s work. As for the lobster, the heat of the griddle contracts the fibrous tendons and appears to move as if alive, it is not however. Cultural relevance dictates that one should not criticize a culture without a complete understanding of the chosen culture or country. Have a Nice Day!
Cant be the only one watching this to sleep
really? it's making me hungry af which makes it way harder to sleep
Exactly
This guy is all about the steak. He never speaks, never makes a sound, never makes a comment. It's all about the steak.
This dude has eaten more Steak than most people have ever seen......he ABSOLUTELY has the best job in the World....Damn!....
Yeah. He has eaten like thousands of them and me sharing my 1st or maybe last steak with my sister.
@@gameplaymemoriesYT I haven't even had a steak, this is the section of youtube where it tells us how poor we are. :(
@@sagittariusa581 Where do you live at?
@@gameplaymemoriesYT Liar.
@@sagittariusa581 brah there are like $1 dollar steaks out there lol
I can't get enough of watching these teppanyaki chefs cook. The food itself isn't the most interesting part, it's the technique and certainly the attention to detail. Rather mesmerizing to watch, actually.
Of course the Wagyu looked absolutely delicious. I've had Wagyu on a couple of occasions but never the most expensive A5 grade. One day maybe.
This feels like an asmr, no music, and it’s like the mic is next to the food
wait is it not asmr?
This is exactly why I watch these kind of videos. It relaxes me before going to bed.
That cooking area, including the griddle, is otherworldly clean and well organized. These videos are a bit of an inspiration for me to up my food game. 🤔
Really enjoy these videos.... different techniques and skill levels... I find the smoother motion craftsman the best... they seem so assured in what they are doing....
Quality video as always . Good food nice place. Beautiful garden scenery. Thank you for sharing.
This is a bucket list experience for me
Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful experience
i'm eating a banana while watching this.
eecheng •ᴗ• True feasting
I've got some cinnamon toast crunch. Eating like a king today.
Top ramen lol
Bruh i laughed too hard at this lol
Great comment.
That's my 2 months of food budget PepeHands

You're poor as fuck
@@onemorething100 really you are an ignorant bitch I work for every damn thing I have your are so stupid
@@onemorething100 You're arrogant as fuck.
13:30 got em..
Bro why was so funny😂
I really got to stop watching these food videos from 4:00am to 5:00 am in the mornings. This is self-punishment. I know but can resist watching how good it looks. lol
At first glance, you think: "I could prepare this meal if I had the equipment and some time to practice." And you could probably make a good start (especially if you've watched enough of these videos heh.) But then it is the SAUCES, seasonings, and special care taken in terms of time. Beautiful job by this restaurant, I wish I'd been there.
He's cooking like he needs to go to the bathroom.
??????? why insult him?, you will never reach his level
@@user-mz6ts4xn6i I didn't really meant that as a insult.
I work in a steakhouse like this. It's not a good thing but it happens a lot.
@Tom Stanton lmao.....
@@jay_bro8113 lmao
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is this the first Japanese chef who doesn't cook the steak for 20 minutes?
Ah, he's put it back on....
I'm setting in my garage eating grits and a fried egg while watching this video..yumminess..oh and a hot cup of tea
19:07, the first bite takes you to the forest. Great, I need this meal!
Lofboomm there is a meaning of it
Yay new tepanyaki video from Aden films
Best food and chef I've seen yet. I've smashed about 13 videos now.
My daily ritual: Turn on an Aden Film and develop a hunger like no other. Eat a satisfying breakfast. Consume a worthwhile lunch and finish off the day with a scrumptious dinner.
Do you enjoy making these videos? Cause I love watching them!
That fried rice looked like generations of skill.
8:50 Bet you thought he was gonna toss those brown bits (I did)... chef came through and did the right thing !!
those are the best parts!
I watch this video while eating my breakfast and pretending that i eat your food.
i felt this 😂🤣
thank you for sharing Aden , i love your videos :)
Looks amazing! The beef was a little too rare for my tastes but close. Here I sit eating egg salad sandwiches and I watch this wonderful food prepared. I'm left wanting... 😂
Feel like the serving is always so little for such (gourmet) meals.
and so expensive too
You should have watched the one where he ate in a private room and the lady cooked on a grill serving him 4 steaks.
it has to be expensive, to filter out people who think such meals are expensive
Lol that's because you people most likely eat humongous portions
Using the garlic chips in the fried rice was an interesting twist.
I have found the perfect ASMR videos
The simplicity. The economy of movement & no showing off whatsoever. Perfection
I would pay that much for the experience and the food. It's amazing and I bet it tastes even better.
i literally started to fucking drool then i had to like double check myself for letting this happen
You are the best in the business. Greatness.
What? No onion volcano?
LOL M MMM is 14 again!
Beautiful meal and scenery !! I am still waiting on my invite !
Phenominal food prep and cooking ...simply beautiful...mesmorizing....inspiring.....
I absolutely love watching these vids...
Aden's mind went to forest after eating the piece of beef at 19:07
GG
what I'm wondering is, how do they get that cooking surface to the normal colour after every customer?
They clean it with a liquid (I think alcohol) while it's hot to get the stuck bits off and then use a steel wool kind of scrubbing sponge with cooking oil to polish it back.
They would normally use a mixture of lemon to cut the grease due to the lemons high acidity.
Lye
Your videos are oddly satisfying to watch
I want to grind hard and eat like this someday, Japan is definitely a place I want to explore . I've had packages come from Japan, they do things precise and clean.
Don’t grind hard, grind smart. Write that down.
@@Barkingspider what if You're grinding hard smartly
You will likely be disappointed.
mr aden, you are on fire! thank you for these videos
For 1 percent who would read this hope you become successful someday
Thank you, I needed that ( think we all do at this point)
great food video
that wagyu flashback was touching
I find this Chef to be 'ungentle' with the food preparation and serving. Very unlike most Japanese food preparation videos on CZcams. I wonder if the chef is Japanese ?
15:31 is what we came for
at 6:15 - wow, the lobster is still twitching! Now THAT is fresh! 😮
I wish the Toco Bell Chefs put this much care into making my Tacos.
I love those cutaway, and cut in too, make these food videos exceptionally good!
These guys don't compare to the $144 Steak Lunch video. They seem "rambo" in japanese, rough/clunky, where the other one they were careful and elegant in how they treated the courses, the ingredients and prep.
i dont know, this is not woth at all for the prices, i mean, i can buy all the ingredients from this thing with only 20-30$ and the meat for90-150$, ur paying just for the "service" 100$ more xD
@ThePHiLsTeR you can make it sous vide and u dont have to do anything, those things cost like 15-50$ max with bluetooh, app to your smartphone to tell you when the meat is ready, the only thing u have to do is seal the meat
Shin Green a sous vide machine is not 15 dollars dude
honestly but read the description it usually wouldnt cost nearly as much
i agree. the veggies did not look good at all. i felt he didnt do the lobster in the beginning any justice.
USD270..@13:30, give me back my onionnnnnn!
if I had only this to eat my monthly pay would drain in 3 days lmao (that being if I only had ONE meal per day)
Bro - how do you only HAVE ONE BEER with this epic meal? lmao! :)
Probably because that one beer was like 20 dollars.
They have been 0% alcoholic beers in other vids, I was like what the hell - pull out the sake
Ich liebe es wenn sie mit solchen technicken & Präzision arbeiten
I see there's a lot of professional chef's in the comment section.
:0
Pencil Note oh yes loads of them
You need not to be a "chef" to decide wether it tastes good or not !
Doesn't take a "chef" to see what quality is. If you were to watch previous videos, you too would see the difference.
“There are” “Chefs”

I’m making fried rice while watching this!!
Thats got to be the first time I’ve seen anything stick to those aluminum football field fryers…… @ 4:15 in. Aden really makes you feel like you’re there. 👍
Wow, this is great!! Wish I had Smell-A-Vision!! :-)
Fun joke my friend but not enough
When I was in high school I thought " wouldn't it be cool to be able to see someone while talking on the phone " never thought it possible..... Smell a vision might not be too far off!?! 😁
@@325aliceI Video calls are there :O
Given the time i think smell-a-vision can be a thing!
That was worth the 270.00. I'd pay for this no problem....
I love how the Japanese dining experience is such an art form. Oh, how I hope to one day visit there and experience the culture and the food.
I'm so jealous rn . Lol
Great video
Yooo i love all your videos please keep dropping them but im gonna need you to start listing every course on your description haha also please come to dc and let me take you to the spots for a east coast in the states trip.
Seeing a prep like this helps us understand what makes the other chefs so incredible. Before this video i thought the cooks were being so petty wiping everything so frequently. Now I see the alternative...
absolutely magical, thanks you very much
I hope we can travel there again soon..
My tongue is damn.
I'm Ok with $8 ramen XD
thank you aden for sharing some art
10:24 ok aden just to let you know thats an onion ...... no we will never let you live that down XD
Now that’s fresh lobster!
I could drop into sleep before they finish preparing my dish...
This is what money is for!!! Who needs Louboutin shoes or Birkin bags. I'm addicted to your channel. This chef is a little sloppy tho. Thanks for sharing.
JANE BIRKIN,BROKE HER CONTRACT WITH THE BRAND,WHEN SHE FOUND OUT HOW THE ANIMALS USED TO MAKE THOSE PURSES WERE TREATED.(I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT THIS MASSACRE IS STILL ALLOWED)SHAME........
idk but for me, best way to eat lobster is when you freshly take it out of the shell. when the meat is fried or grilled out of the shell, it feels like the taste loses some of its "seafood" taste. idk any other word to describe it
that rice was the best part of the meal, wasnt it?
Whoa! Am I the only one mildly outraged that you paid so much and only got half the fried rice! HALF!! XD
I don't like seeing good food go to waste :(
A lot of negative comments but I much prefer this to some others. No clanging together utensils and fannying about. Just cooking....
I love going to kyoto!
its really tasty , but when you watch the lobster getting cooked , even though its considered dead ,,, the nervous system is still reacting , the tail , the organs" the legs still trying to swim away , he even points to them as its cooking and then covers it as the legs are crawling away lol Fresh Lobster for sure niice
I think the video color was too bright maybe because of the lighting but you should have turned down the settings
6:05 i swear to god i saw one of the lobsters feet move put it on the slowest speed and you wiwll prob see it too
I see it too
Without slow speed
Damn lots of food on the grill at once LUL
Chef is not very accurate, or nice to watch at. But the environment is beautiful!
Mikhail Kan s
Yep, sometimes it feels like he doesn't know what to do with the food... like with the rice. I mean wth for 200$ ?!
And his nails don't long good. Check at 6:52
Gordon Ramsey would be pissed they didn't take the meat out of those lobster legs. Good meat in them.
That s right, it is waste 😐
12:50 could really notice the breathing here lol
鉄板綺麗すぎる!w

Nothing like watching your food dance around the griddle while it's cooking!
My stomach is torturing but I can't stop watching oof
Same
Earliest I have ever been!
Hi Aden
why is the rice always served the last in teppanyaki food
Because it fills the stomach too much
Pardon my complete ignorance, but there seems to be some urgentness to this cook that makes it all less elegant and less palatable? My only experience is in viewing similar videos like this, and elegance and ease of action seem so important.

Whats the Name of the Restaurant?
Kanzan Seseragi, Kyoto Japan. It is part of the Suiran Hotel in Kyoto. 12 Sagami Tenryuji Ashinobaba-cho, Ukyo-ku, Kyoto-shi, Kyoto Prefecture.
You can find their menu if you google that. It's 10000 Yen for the basic meal, another 4000 for the extra beef, then a 10% combination of taxes, and then the gratuity. BUT it looks like their menu is different now, probably due to the Plague and the exchange rate, they are trying harder to stay in business.
even the oil is dispensed using a tea-pot! love it
