I had my interview today in San Francisco, April 1, and I passed it. I also had the same day naturalization ceremony and I got my US citizenship certificate. It took about 4 hours. All done, very efficient! The interviewer was very nice. She asked me 6 or 7 questions and told me that I passed it. I was surprised because she didn’t tell me if I answered correctly, so I was still concentrating and waiting for her next question. The reading and writing were easy. Hi, I’m in Texas and I have mine coming up. How soon after did they let you know about the ceremony? I wanted to surprise my family by telling them I passed (I’m praying I do) and have them take off for the ceremony.
When my brother became a citizen he had his ceremony about 2 months later, I was unaware they did them the same day..
Hi @leslycanales5885 ! Naturalization Oath Ceremonies are not always on the same day as the N-400 interview. It depends on the field office schedule for that particular day. You will not find out until the day of your interview.
If you pass the entire interview, the officer will either ask you if you can stay for an oath ceremony or tell you to wait for an appointment notice (usually within a few weeks). If you'd like to have your family at your oath ceremony (great idea!!), just let the officer know to send you an appointment. ❤️
I had my test today in Tampa, Florida and passed! Thank you for your videos. These were the questions they asked me:
1. How many senators does the U.S. has?
2. What ocean is on the west coast of the United States?
3. Name your U.S. representative
4. Who is the governor of your state?
5. What’s the capital of your state?
Study everyday! It’s not as hard as it seems as long as you learn the answers!

What documents you have to bring? Do you have to bring a copy of your application? I have an interview this coming May 6. Thank you!
Hi @marizielbuzzard709 ! Please bring any documents pertaining to your specific immigration case, especially if you've had issues with any of the questions in Part 12 of your N-400 application (arrests, citations, overdue taxes, etc...). Please also bring your green card, interview letter, state ID, all passports including expired ones, your current marital status document, any divorce/death decrees for both you and your spouse from prior marriages, birth certificates of children, child support payment evidence if applicable, any previous name change documents, and official IRS tax transcripts for the last 5 years (or *joint* tax return transcripts for the last 3 years if filing based on marriage).
Tax returns are NOT required for every case. However, USCIS strongly encourages you to bring your tax returns; especially if you are filing based on marriage to a U.S. citizen, self-employed, or have traveled outside the United States for a period that lasted 6 months or more. *OFFICIAL IRS tax return transcripts* are best. It is difficult to say which documents the officer will ask to see because much of the interview is up to the discretion of the officer conducting the interview and your own personal immigration history. If there is something they ask for and you don't have it with you, the officer will give you an N-14 form (Request for Evidence) and ask you to submit the extra documents before they will make a final decision. We recommend going in as prepared as possible so you don’t have any delays in your case.

I passed my exam yesterday, we went into the room at 9:08, and I was out of the room by 9:25.
The whole process was super smooth and the officer was extremely nice!

Immigrant men over the age of 31 who are seeking naturalization and who did not register are no longer required to provide a "status information letter" or documentation of their status from Selective Service to USCIS. If asked for a status information letter, these men may print a form letter concerning their request for a letter for use with USCIS - www.sss.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/Applicants-Over-31-Letter-Updated-03-02-2021.pdf
Please bring this letter with you to your interview.

Hi @clementbiaya2009 ! Sorry to hear you are still waiting for an Oath Ceremony. Are you waiting for a name change? USCIS says it can take up to 90 days to schedule, or longer if you have a name change. However, they usually happen within a few weeks of the interview.
Now that it’s been almost two months of waiting, please call the customer service line at 1-800-375-5283. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm Eastern. Say, "InfoPass Appointment" when the system asks why you are calling. Ask the representative for a case status update and if you need to go in for an InfoPass appointment to speak with an officer about your case and reason for the delay.
You can also send a direct message using the "Inbox" in your USCIS online account to let them know you are still waiting for your Oath Ceremony to be scheduled.
Regarding your trip, after your oath ceremony, you will need to apply for a U.S. passport in order to travel because you will not have your green card anymore. This can take a few months. It is possible to get it sooner with an expedited process. Look under "Expedite a First-Time Application." You will need Form DS-11.

I had my interview since April 4th. How long will it take to be scheduled for the Oath
Hi @arinadeolabisi2668 ! Typically just a few weeks. USCIS says oath ceremonies can take up to 90 days to schedule, or longer if you did a name change. However, we typically see them scheduled within a few weeks. It depends on your specific field office. Keep us posted! ❤️

Hi @brenlo2652 ! Naturalization Oath Ceremonies are not always on the same day as the N-400 interview. It depends on the field office schedule for that particular day. You will not find out until the day of your interview.
If you pass the entire interview, the officer will either ask you if you can stay for an oath ceremony or tell you to wait for an appointment notice (usually within a few weeks). Be prepared to stay just in case though!

Hi @mommyjenandlexi9980 . Your friend will be given another opportunity to pass the interview. She will not have to retake the civics, reading, and writing, if she already passed those parts. She will just need to retake the speaking and understanding English, which is mostly reviewing the N-400 application. The second interview will be scheduled in 60-90 days of the initial interview. If she does not pass the second interview, she will need to start the process from the beginning and submit a new application. Hi @BritneyKassamba ! Congratulations on your interview! Well done! As far as the citation goes, unless a traffic incident was alcohol or drug related, led to an arrest, or seriously injured another person, you do NOT need to submit documentation of traffic incidents.
Documentation of traffic incidents ONLY if the incident:
1. Involved alcohol or drugs;
2. Led to an arrest; or
3. Seriously injured another person.

This is also on the old instruction document for Form N-400 with this wording:
You do not need to submit documentation for traffic fines or incidents that did not involve an arrest or did not involve drugs or alcohol, if the only penalty was a fine of less than $500 or points on your driving record.
Do what you can to find the information they asked for, but if you can't find it, it should still be okay if the fine was small. Look through your bank account or credit card statements online.

Hi @BritneyKassamba ! See if there is anything on your driving records. You can usually get them from your local DMV or MVA. This way you can find the exact date. Most banks are required to keep your records for five years after closing your account. So, you should be able to go to the bank directly.
Also, filing an appeal costs $800. You might want to check with an immigration attorney first (see links). Perhaps they can write a letter for you if you receive a Form N-14 in the mail requesting more evidence. However, hopefully this officer was just new and didn't know the rules. Sometimes the supervising officer will catch the mistake. Good luck and Keep us posted!
