I completely understand what Aaron wants. For me I found myself in an endless cycle of constantly playing dbd and played it for 5 years straight. But once I’ve gone to college and back home on weekends I’ve finally lost the hold on me with dbd and now I’m enjoying other games like tcm. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without dbd but it’s good to move on to other things to enjoy. Doesn’t mean I won’t touch the game ever again but I’m glad I’m not addicted to it anymore

As someone who plays killer a lot, i drifted from the game when i felt obligated to only play a few killers so i wouldn't get bulldozed. Anytime i join a match and try to have a relaxing fun match that isn't too serious, not even 2 minutes into the match 3 gens pop and i pretty much get the mindset of well shit i can't relax and enjoy it, gotta be sweaty. 4 flashlight groups tbagging and blinding inside of the exit gates is always how it ends, that and the shit talking in post game with people spamming ez/trash killer etc. It's also why i hate playing survivor as you very very rarely see unique killers, it's always blight, nurse and so on. I've got almost 500 hours in this game, I have yet to even play against leatherface or freddy. I also wont play certain killers due to one big problem this game has, pallets every 5 feet. Also not to forget maps like macmillan where survivors have perks like boil over that just run to the top of the staircase where you can't get them. So when you are stuck between playing specific killers and do well or do someone less common and get steamrolled i just choose to not play at all, it makes playing survivor boring too as it's always the same killers so it affects both sides.
I actually sat up in my chair when you mentioned you were gonna be achievement hunting. I LOVE that kind of challenge content, and watching one of my favorite content creators move to it will be amazing! Here's to a happier Aaron! Good luck, and I'll be with you every step of the way!

It's kinda sad to hear that from you, because I just found you recently because of your DbD-Content - however, if a game doesn't give you joy while playing it, stepping away from it, no matter if it's for a while or forever, is the best way to go. All the best to you and I'll have a look into what you're going to do, but I honestly cannot promise if I watch these videos on the long run, because achievement hunting was never something that bothered me - except for a few games that are/were really close to my heart.

I often listen to you at work, so commentary is very easy to listen to rather than gameplay since that requires watching. However, I also really enjoy speedrun/achievement hunting videos that show gameplay with explanations of what's happening (also live reactions getting these things makes me happy lol). It is like a fun merging of both gaming and commentary. I hope this is something you do in the future, I await your next step with this channel

I loved your DbD content but as a fellow Platinum Trophy Hunter I'd love to see how you'd tackle the Achievement Style video and am Along for the ride. I do agree that DBD gets stale after that first week of new content and likely because anything new is either annoying to play against for some or not cool enough to use all too often. So I totally agree with your leaving of the game even if I'm sticking around due to personal enjoyment of that game. But yeah can't wait to see what cool videos you produce in the future.
I totally feel you about DBD. It was a game that I played for hours a day and recently, I realized I haven't played it since before the Summer BBQ event. I think I'll get back into it but I just don't have the joy for it like I did. I'm happy you are moving on to something that brings you joy. As a completionist myself, I completely understood what you meant when you said you like to fully experience everything a game has to offer. I've always been like that too.

I just saw your video about this and I have to agree the main reason why I quit playing dbd is because we dont see any of the new or old killers anymore it stays in the middle Nemisis, Wesker, and skull merchant and ofc you get them random killers that you only see once but the game felt the same and it felt like I was forced to play it with people or even for myself

You recently got a short stint in one of the ActMan videos. I started watching you because of your commentary, the salty stuff drew me in at first because it was interesting to me, but I am subbed to quite a few commentary channels, so I am looking forward to you branching out to more games or general commentary stuff.
I think that is why I am still enjoying DBD. I am trying to get all of the achievements. Maybe sprinkling in meme stuff, but in general I am loving the "grind" to get 100% of DBD achievements.
This video made me subscribe to you, it's hard to change, and i stopped playing dead by daylight because i feel the same, it's more of the same thing over and over again. Just play what you want, have fun, there are a lot of games out there waiting for a chance to grow. Can't wait to see what you'll bring next ! :D
It's sort of a relief to me, as I've been having issues finding fun in DbD as well, and usually only keep playing due to friends who still play, as well as content creators who make videos about it... the burnout as well as boredom from games like DbD is very real. Hope you have a great time making content about and playing other games, and I know a lot of people from the community will continue supporting 'cause we're here for you, your personality, your commentary, etc not just the subjects you make content about.

Damn, Im really gonna miss your DBD content but I understand and respect your choice. Way back when Twins to Trickster were released I was getting tunneled and camped pretty much everyday every match, I wasn't having fun and eventually decided to stop playing. That's around the time I found your channel actually and I will admit until watching your videos I was an entitled survivor main shamefully, but through yours and Spooknjukes' videos I grew out of that. I don't remember when I got back into DBD but thanks to you and Spooknjukes I was more level headed and started having fun again. I support your choice and I am excited to see your new content, I wish nothing but the best for you Aaron! ❤

Hey man, do whatever makes you happier !! We'll be happy to follow suit. =) If I may give a recommendation, Hollow Knight is a great challenge to 100% ! It would definitely take more than 24h to get there (all achievements speedruns are around 10 to 11h, so for a new player it would probably take a little while !), but the lore is great, the gameplay is great and it feels amazing to beat. Hey Aaron, I was looking at your Twitch channel to see when are you streaming now and was surprised to see you quit on DBD. I am one of the people who quit on DBD back at the beginning of 2023. I love 100% games too and I did that for 15 games during 2023! :D I can say 2023 was so fun for me because I didn't really play many games for years while focusing on DBD and now that I am free from it, I was able to try playing one of the hundreds of games I bought and left untouched :) .. The joy you would find in other games is a lot better than pretending to like a game you don't have fun in anymore. I loved your DbD content but as a fellow Platinum Trophy Hunter I'd love to see how you'd tackle the Achievement Style video and am Along for the ride. I do agree that DBD gets stale after that first week of new content and likely because anything new is either annoying to play against for some or not cool enough to use all too often. So I totally agree with your leaving of the game even if I'm sticking around due to personal enjoyment of that game.
But yeah can't wait to see what cool videos you produce in the future.
I totally feel you about DBD. It was a game that I played for hours a day and recently, I realized I haven't played it since before the Summer BBQ event. I think I'll get back into it but I just don't have the joy for it like I did. I'm happy you are moving on to something that brings you joy. As a completionist myself, I completely understood what you meant when you said you like to fully experience everything a game has to offer. I've always been like that too.

I just saw your video about this and I have to agree the main reason why I quit playing dbd is because we dont see any of the new or old killers anymore it stays in the middle Nemisis, Wesker, and skull merchant and ofc you get them random killers that you only see once but the game felt the same and it felt like I was forced to play it with people or even for myself

You recently got a short stint in one of the ActMan videos. I started watching you because of your commentary, the salty stuff drew me in at first because it was interesting to me, but I am subbed to quite a few commentary channels, so I am looking forward to you branching out to more games or general commentary stuff.
I think that is why I am still enjoying DBD. I am trying to get all of the achievements. Maybe sprinkling in meme stuff, but in general I am loving the "grind" to get 100% of DBD achievements.
This video made me subscribe to you, it's hard to change, and i stopped playing dead by daylight because i feel the same, it's more of the same thing over and over again. Just play what you want, have fun, there are a lot of games out there waiting for a chance to grow. Can't wait to see what you'll bring next ! :D
It's sort of a relief to me, as I've been having issues finding fun in DbD as well, and usually only keep playing due to friends who still play, as well as content creators who make videos about it... the burnout as well as boredom from games like DbD is very real. Hope you have a great time making content about and playing other games, and I know a lot of people from the community will continue supporting 'cause we're here for you, your personality, your commentary, etc not just the subjects you make content about.
If the game doesnt give you excitment or joy then its time too find a new path. I wish you all the best in your new adventure,cannot wait to see whats new instore.
I feel for you 100% and commend you for knowing yourself and making the decision to leave. It a shame though as you were the main reason my interest in the game reignited.
I am jealous though, I feel like I'm in a similar situation with Overwatch 2 ... Pretty sure I'm just hate playing now , all while my head and heart is sadden by what the game has become.

Fully support this change! I will admit, my favourite videos to watch are of the salty streamer in DBD variety BUT that doesn’t mean I won’t enjoy your new content. Damn, Im really gonna miss your DBD content but I understand and respect your choice.
Way back when Twins to Trickster were released I was getting tunneled and camped pretty much everyday every match, I wasn't having fun and eventually decided to stop playing. That's around the time I found your channel actually and I will admit until watching your videos I was an entitled survivor main shamefully, but through yours and Spooknjukes' videos I grew out of that. I don't remember when I got back into DBD but thanks to you and Spooknjukes I was more level headed and started having fun again.

If I may give a recommendation, Hollow Knight is a great challenge to 100% ! It would definitely take more than 24h to get there (all achievements speedruns are around 10 to 11h, so for a new player it would probably take a little while !), but the lore is great, the gameplay is great and it feels amazing to beat.

Been here for sometime and I stick around because you as a content creator are wholesome, kind and stick to your morales regarding many complex situations without bias from others. As a creator myself it is understandable to fall out of love for a game and making a change to keep yourself happy is completely normal, looking forward to see what is coming on both channels keep up the amazing work
Hey Aaron, I was looking at your Twitch channel to see when are you streaming now and was surprised to see you quit on DBD. I am one of the people who quit on DBD back at the beginning of 2023. I love 100% games too and I did that for 15 games during 2023! :D I can say 2023 was so fun for me because I didn't really play many games for years while focusing on DBD and now that I am free from it, I was able to try playing one of the hundreds of games I bought and left untouched :) .. I wish you all the best with your future games !

I'll still stick around, I wouldn't mind if you do the achievement for Tekken 7 and beat Akuma with Kazuya on the secret chapter. I don't know why that popped into my when you said you're going to be an achievement hunter, maybe because I find it challenging.
