Man I feel so bad so pilots in this game. No air-to-ground action, horrible control, no cockpit freelock, and only two jets (which are basically identical). Such a huge step back from 1 and V.
As a longtime fan,going on 10 years, I have had the opportunity to see Joe in his full emotional spectrum. But this isn't even a true angry rant, it's heart break. I was excited for battlefield to come back but promised myself I wouldn't touch it till I heard from Joe, and tbh I'm sorry to see this one. Power to you Joe, you deserve better.
4 months late, but it's actually much better now and like 90% of the issues he complains about have been resolved (the game now has a class system; there's now a proper scoreboard; hovercraft and vehicles in general are now very well-balanced overall; all of the most serious bugs (like often not being able to revive teammates) have been fixed; all of the maps have been reworked with more cover, less needless open space, and just a better overall flow, etc. etc.).
Can we take a moment, to just appreciate the fact, that AT LEAST we have AJ speaking the truth. The amount of youtubers that are sponsored by ea who are shilling this game is breathtaking. Thanks for just spitting the truth Joe.

I was always a huge BF fanboy to be honest, sometimes when a good call of duty comes out or a free one like Warzone I would jump over there but my main game is always Battlefield but wow I am absolutely stunned that they released a game like this like for real what the hell happened? Problem is that they start from scratch with every installation of this (and similar) franchise. They don't build upon what they had previously and add in more stuff, but they start from zero and due to constrains, development time, lack of good developers, etc. they just remove stuff they had in previous versions.

BFBC 2 Sound is amazing the bullet whizz is the best ever, it showed what you can do in a fps game with audio, and I still hold many many games to this day to the BFBC 2 standard.

People should never listen to BF CZcamsrs, who are primarily focused on BF, one game. Once they become successful and they don't have other job than CZcams, their integrity is gone. They will say literally anything to keep the latest BF game relevant, because their income and standard of living (maybe they have a family and small kids to feed) relies 100% on the popularity of the new Battlefield game. AJ affords being honest, because they don't rely on Battlefield.

The real reason they introduced specialist classes is for the micro transactions they will have for the skins of each specialist. We’re not blind EA…..
It goes deeper than that. In the beta I noticed you can't have more than 4 in a party. I think 2042 was originally designed as a pure Battle Royale/hazard zone experience and when their QA testers hated it EA and DICE tried scrambling to throw these assets into something that resembled Battlefield and pushed portal to hopefully abate peoples impending frustration with the core experience.

It’s nice to see that tarkov and hunt are still on top when it comes to the looter survival games. Tarkov has one of the most advanced weapon modding systems in any game I’ve ever played and the bosses in hunt are just super fun to fight with friends.
After Battlefield V I had high hopes for this and even preordered the gold edition on PS5. It's the last time I preordered Battlefield, maybe the last time I bought a Battlefield game in general. And I've been a huge fan since Battlefield 1942, this was just the last drop for me. Worst and most fucked up Battlefield ever.

He had no problem moving and getting used to leaving there, but the only thing he cannot get used to is people getting a job position just because they are a minority or whatever the fuck their problem is, but not beacuse they fit the job position or are qualified, so he has to work with people that have no clue of what they are doing there or simply aren't qualified enough. BF2042 is the proof of this and you could already see it with BFV.

I have been a battlefield guy since Bad Company, and I really wanted to get 2042, but I waited to see how it would go and thank goodness I didn't put my money on the preorder.
Don't forget about the 5 mile run to base A at the start of a map that you are FORCED to spawn into after what seems an hour long intro of the map which i've watched 50 times already which is already captured by someone in a heli so you are forced to run another 5 miles to B only to get blown up by an enemy heli OR you hit re-deploy at the start and die instantly which also costs tickets, my last game actually had a nice driver who stopped to pick some of us up, there was too many of us tho, so we ended up having 4 guys inside the car and 7! more on the roof of the car, it worked out, until a sharp turn but this shit shouldn't be happening, i've played since bf2 and played almost every game they have sold and i have never been dissapointed until now, so many features are missing, why are they copying other games like apex or over watch? those games didnt even exist when battlefield was already amazing, be yourself, not something else! if we wanted to play those other games we would play those other games, we want to play battlefield, bf2042, is not battlefield to me its just a copy of apex but not a battle royale and i hate battle royale

Not able to see nearby medics, not that it matters anyway because no one revives or plays objective anyway- even though the specialists were supposed to change all that and force people to play objective. They removed removed the class based system the series is known for . The community is not pleased, I loved battlefield, I played battlefield since Battleifeld:2 Modern Combat and to think that the team hasn't learnt a thing from the predecessors before them or even modern contemporaries frustrates me as a consumer. The most fundamental question I have for any Battlefield Developer: Have you ever played a battlefield game, Before battlefield 3?? Am I the only one that remembers the importance of teamwork and the necessity of other roles?

@Harry BaalsAfter BC2, Battlefield 3 was really great, probably the peak of the series. BF4 was a copy paste of BF3 +china. Bf1 was unique in his own way, I enjoyed it. Something went downhill, when they released that BF5 trailer with the prostetic arm woman. It feels like not even the same developers with the high quality as. If you remember the BF1 easter eggs. It was a long way to get the peacekeeper. I liked those little details . We are the point now, a campaign is not even included.
I feel like the saddest thing about gaming right now is we all thought we'd be given the best of the best at this point because how do you get worse...if younger me knew all my favorite franchises would turn to shit I would've appreciated every moment playing those games. Man I feel so bad so pilots in this game. No air-to-ground action, horrible control, no cockpit freelock, and only two jets (which are basically identical). Such a huge step back from 1 and V.
As a longtime fan,going on 10 years, I have had the opportunity to see Joe in his full emotional spectrum. But this isn't even a true angry rant, it's heart break. I was excited for battlefield to come back but promised myself I wouldn't touch it till I heard from Joe, and tbh I'm sorry to see this one. Power to you Joe, you deserve better.

I bought the beta on steam, played like, 2 matches, then refunded it and bought red dead 2. Best decision of my life
it was on sale for $15 so I got it, it still sucks and everything he says is correct about it

4 months late, but it's actually much better now and like 90% of the issues he complains about have been resolved (the game now has a class system; there's now a proper scoreboard; hovercraft and vehicles in general are now very well-balanced overall; all of the most serious bugs (like often not being able to revive teammates) have been fixed; all of the maps have been reworked with more cover, less needless open space, and just a better overall flow, etc. etc.).

I was always a huge BF fanboy to be honest, sometimes when a good call of duty comes out or a free one like Warzone I would jump over there but my main game is always Battlefield but wow I am absolutely stunned that they released a game like this like for real what the hell happened? Did you fire everyone and outsourced the game to a small chinese company?... damn sad Year for FPS lovers.
Problem is that they start from scratch with every installation of this (and similar) franchise. They don't build upon what they had previously and add in more stuff, but they start from zero and due to constrains, development time, lack of good developers, etc. they just remove stuff they had in previous versions.

AJ affords being honest, because they don't rely on Battlefield.

The real reason they introduced specialist classes is for the micro transactions they will have for the skins of each specialist. We’re not blind EA…..

It goes deeper than that. In the beta I noticed you can't have more than 4 in a party. I think 2042 was originally designed as a pure Battle Royale/hazard zone experience and when their QA testers hated it EA and DICE tried scrambling to throw these assets into something that resembled Battlefield and pushed portal to hopefully abate peoples impending frustration with the core experience.

@@aznnathan3 everything about 2042 just doesn’t feel battlefield related, like joe said the guns in the game sound awful and the vehicles physics from air and ground are terrible they feel like paper, especially considering how easy it is to crash in to something even when you land perfectly with the helicopters, it still explodes and it’s happened countless times to me
It’s nice to see that tarkov and hunt are still on top when it comes to the looter survival games. Tarkov has one of the most advanced weapon modding systems in any game I’ve ever played and the bosses in hunt are just super fun to fight with friends.
After Battlefield V I had high hopes for this and even preordered the gold edition on PS5. It's the last time I preordered Battlefield, maybe the last time I bought a Battlefield game in general. And I've been a huge fan since Battlefield 1942, this was just the last drop for me. Worst and most fucked up Battlefield ever.

He had no problem moving and getting used to leaving there, but the only thing he cannot get used to is people getting a job position just because they are a minority or whatever the fuck their problem is, but not beacuse they fit the job position or are qualified, so he has to work with people that have no clue of what they are doing there or simply aren't qualified enough. BF2042 is the proof of this and you could already see it with BFV.

Don't forget about the 5 mile run to base A at the start of a map that you are FORCED to spawn into after what seems an hour long intro of the map which i've watched 50 times already which is already captured by someone in a heli so you are forced to run another 5 miles to B only to get blown up by an enemy heli OR you hit re-deploy at the start and die instantly which also costs tickets, my last game actually had a nice driver who stopped to pick some of us up, there was too many of us tho, so we ended up having 4 guys inside the car and 7! more on the roof of the car, it worked out, until a sharp turn but this shit shouldn't be happening, i've played since bf2 and played almost every game they have sold and i have never been dissapointed until now, so many features are missing, why are they copying other games like apex or over watch? those games didnt even exist when battlefield was already amazing, be yourself, not something else! if we wanted to play those other games we would play those other games, we want to play battlefield, bf2042, is not battlefield to me its just a copy of apex but not a battle royale and i hate battle royale

The way the industry has been going is unacceptable Vehicle spam has become prevalent in an infantry based game. They removed removed the class based system the series is known for . The community is not pleased, I loved battlefield, I played battlefield since Battleifeld:2 Modern Combat and to think that the team hasn't learnt a thing from the predecessors before them or even modern contemporaries frustrates me as a consumer.

It's so sad. I played BF1942, BF nam, BF2, BFBC2 and bought a whole new PC with money from my first job to play BF3. How did we get to this point? Honestly, it's just heart breaking to see Battlefield in this state and where it's completely lost it's identity.

@Harry BaalsAfter BC2, Battlefield 3 was really great, probably the peak of the series. BF4 was a copy paste of BF3 +china. Bf1 was unique in his own way, I enjoyed it. Something went downhill, when they released that BF5 trailer with the prostetic arm woman. It feels like not even the same developers with the high quality as. If you remember the BF1 easter eggs. It was a long way to get the peacekeeper. I liked those little details . We are the point now, a campaign is not even included.
I absolutely worshiped at the alter of BF. Bad company was amazing, and all the games after that up to BF1. I gave up after BF1

Like on one hand it's nice to see gaming being accepted and more people playing video games and characters from games becoming part of pop culture and basically main stream , but on the other , gaming companies went from having passion and love for their creations to just looking for ways to make money or milking franchises with minimum effort , it is sad to think about it , worst is bet lot of developers would love and other people that work on these games would love to be creative and innovative but the corporate overlords won't allow it

Seriously. I took games like Cod 5, Halo 3, and BF Bad Company 2 for granted back then. We used to think that in two more generations, you'd have games where _every_ building can be destroyed, or you can go inside _every_ building, and there'll be a hundred players on each team, etc etc...Reality hurts
Sad thing is, most new players won't understand what the issue is. Yeah, you could tell them to play the older games because they're better, but a lot of people, for some reason, can't like older games. It's like, a game passes 5 years old and it's immediately bad to them. I don't understand it.

AoE 4 is another example how people made same looking games to Geforce 2 hardware, while offering nothing cool after 2 decades, while being actually worse than AoE2.

YES! I ALWAYS said the same about BF2. THE sound was so immersive and realistic. Finally I have had someone agree with me. I play FPS games and most of it about 80,% is done by sound alone rest is visual for me
