Finding "The One" for Rookie Rockhounding! Rock Hunt and Swap, and Carving with Aussie Treasures!

- In this one, we join forces with our good friend from down under Rookie Rockhounding for one epic Collab! Essentially, the plan is to go out and find a rock specifically to send to Rookie and he will do the same for us. After receiving the rock, our task is then to shape or create using "the one"! With this knowledge in mind, I decided to head out to one of my favorite sites that has a plethora of phenomenal agates, and apparently the Yellowstone River wanted to send some love to Rookie because we scored an agate that truly has it all! So we sent off a Montana Treasure box to Rookie and he sent us one in return. I loved every rock but one in particular REALLY caught my attention: a thunderegg with a carnelian pocket! given the color and shape, I decided to carve a koi out of it and I think it came out beautifully!
This collaboration was WAAAAY too much fun and took an entire summer to come to fruition. We both hope you enjoy this as much as we did and definitely look forward to the next one, because there will DEFINITELY be a next one!

While watching this and @Rookie Rockhounding's video, it struck me how unique this venture really is. I mean, here are two people who've never met, living on separate continents literally halfway around the globe from each other. Via this collaboration they now each possess an actual physical piece (or pieces) of the other's homeland. And in the process of bringing out the latent beauty in those specimens they bring such joy to so many people literally around the world. Tis a precious thing.

Theo, my husband and I are big fans! You make me crave the Yellowstone! We want to get to the pryors before the cold comes. We've been twice so far and haven't even seen half of it. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures!! I always like watching.....I find it kinda cruel in the middle of winter because you make me want to get out but the snow says no no no. Lol.

I was happily watching both rookie's and your video on this great challenge and out of the blue I had a tear in my eye - That finished piece is Magnificent! It moved me. The fluidity, softness and movement you created out that beautiful rock is incredible.....but I'm going to blame my tears on the music - ya it was the music that got me all emotional
