    How did you decide which uni to go to? Drop me a comment and let me know! :)

      Rachel Oates Does not going to college or university count as a choice?

    • @jabom22
      @jabom22 Před 6 lety

      For me I checked the level or rating of the particular curriculum I was interested in, and had advice from a PhD (who was my chemistry teacher at the time) about the city and University itself. After that I compared it to others and added travel time and accomodation.
      But to be fair I took the easy route in a way because I choose my university also due to the fact I could simply travel to it by bicycle ;)

      This is a really late comment but I'm stuck between leeds and warwick and made you decide against leeds? And how is the social scene in Warwick because that's really important to me as I'm quiet introverted so I don't want to be actively seeking out new people.

    I had the same gut feeling about Warwick. At first when I looked at pictures, it didn't really stand out, but when I accompanied my friend for her offer holder day, I was so surprised and impressed, I knew I had to go there. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and I was actually able to have a conversation with the students despite me being an introvert. So happy I'm finally going to my dream school aka Warwick this September!!

    I've firmed with Warwick! Will be starting grad entry medicine in September. When I went for my interview in January, Warwick is one of the most beautiful university I've been to, I'm just super excited to be going back to uni and meeting new friends at Warwick again

      Rachel Oates thanks Rachel, just a quick question, is Coventry a decent place to live for Warwick students? As I don't really want to go back to campus again for my 2nd degree, and although Leamington is a nice area but I don't feel like driving 20 mins to uni routinely and the pricey rent. So Coventry is really the closest city I can stay at uni, but does Coventry really have a bad rep like a lot of people said? Thanks

    • @RachelOates
      @RachelOates  Před 7 lety +1

      I think Coventry's alright - I always used to go into Cov when I wanted to shop because the city centre's got a really great selection of shops, but that's as much as I really know about it.
      I guess the biggest thing to consider is the social side of things and how much you want to get involved in societies etc. Most society events are usually based in campus or Leamington (although, of course, it depends on the society and activity) so living in Coventry can leave you a little out of the loop.
      If you don't want to live on campus but think Leamington's too far you can always try Canley - which is the area around campus / surrounding Tesco. I lived in Canley in my second year and it was alright, although I did feel a little left out of things, was so far away from al my friends, and I enjoyed being in Leamington a lot more.
      You really just have to think about what you really want out of your housing and then decide where you want to live :)

      Rachel Oates thank you for the very informative reply 👍 I think the main thing I would like to get out of uni is to survive another 4 years without failings along the way. And hopefully can meet some amazing friends along the way too. The one thing Ive noticed is that the Warwick medical school is quite separated to the main campus, and so hopefully I won't end up only interacting with other students from the same course!

    This will be a very late comment but just came across your channel. I also went to pgs and grew up around Penistone before going to Warwick to do Biomed . Currently in my 4th year doing the Mbio. Tbh I was just a bit shocked to see someone having gone down a very similar route including trying to get away from Yorkshire a bit. In any case, glad to see your channel is doing well and I'll have to check out some more vids :D

    Went to Southampton. Fell in love with it first time I saw the campus and the city and the course seemed amazing (biology). Fucking hate it. I ended up switching to biomed because biology was actual hell although biomed isn't much better.
    This uni is draining me of life. It makes me feel dumb. I feel ZERO motivation to do any sort of work, which is not like me because I studied really hard for GCSEs and A Levels.
    I wish I went to a lower grade uni instead. I doubt I'll get out of here with higher than a 2:2, maybe a low 2:1 if I'm lucky.
