After Mahayuti's dismal performance in the recent Lok Sabha polls, internal tensions are surfacing within the alliance. Maharashtra Minister and NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal criticized the BJP for blaming the NCP's performance, noting that out of the 48 seats, the NCP contested only two-Raigad and Baramati-and won one. Bhujbal highlighted that the BJP also lost many seats in other states, including Uttar Pradesh, arguing that blaming the Ajit Pawar faction is unfair and everyone needs to introspect their losses.
Additionally, some NCP MLAs have expressed discontent over the party's decision to select Sunetra Pawar as a Rajya Sabha candidate over senior leader Chhagan Bhujbal, indicating further internal discord.
