There was a hint of this years ago in the Bleach stage musical, during a scene where Kenpachi is recovering from his fight with Ichigo in the 4th Division and Unohana pulls a dagger on him to make him stay in bed. There were only two people in Kenpachi's life that ever really mattered to him - Unohana and the baby he named after her. And that and whole "you're the only man that ever brought me any joy in this life" sounded kinda romantic.
One fun fact: Kenpachi Cannot hear what berenice talking because His eardrum is damaged by Jerome Roar(The Big Sternritter) and that why berenice power Cannot work on kenpachi.

This left me wondering how Royd beat Kenpachi while copying only Juha Bach's mind and memories (but not his power) while Loyd lost to Kenpachi while copying Kenpachi's own power and techniques. The explanation Kubo gave us in the manga was not "crystal clear." It left me to conclude that Royd Lloyd beat Kenpachi using just his own power, and thus Loyd (his twin) could have also defeated Kenpachi using just his own power, instead of copying Kenpachi's power. The anime didn't even offer that much explanation. It wasn't until a fan asked for clarification that Kubo explained the "Y brothers" powers: each can copy what the other can, but only 70-80%. So Royd copied all of Zaraki's power and techniques and 70-80% of Zaraki's memories, while Loyd copied all of Juha Bach's mind and memories but only 70-80% of his powers and techniques. That finally explained how Loyd beat Kenpachi but lost to Yamamoto.
For thousand year blood war the director is different from the OG anime. His name is tomohisa Taguchi originally he wanted to make movies but switched to anime. Because of him the final arc looks very cinematic.

You're absolutely right about the pacing of the Thousand Year Blood War: It all seems to happen so fast that it's hard to "unpack" everything we learn! It's the complete opposite of the previous anime where they seemed to pad scenes out with comedic dialogue that broke the mood and slowed the pacing. And the anime is adding material that wasn't in the manga (even at the expense of some of that light-hearted but irrelevant banter). Interesting that you draw a connection between the way Aizen looked in his "transcendent" form (after fusion with the hogyoku made him immortal) and the "alien" look of the Soul King. My head-canon says that's not a coincidence. The Muken (beneath the Squad 1 headquarters) where Unohana and Kenpachi fight is the same place they keep Aizen. When I first read those for words in the manga: "First Kenpachi, Yachiru Unohana" - so much backstory I never expected to get suddenly fell into place! Arguably the most important relationship in both characters' lives and Kubo kept it hidden just beneath the surface all this time! That serene, gentle matriarch was the most diabolical killer in the history of Soul Society! This is why people repeatedly got scared shitless if Unohana smiled, or had to repeat a "suggestion" twice. Why Unohana supported Yachiru Kusajishi as her successor to the presidency of the Shinigami Women's association (and why Lt. Kushjishi might be the second-oldest member). Why Rudbornn Chelute and his Exequias were so quick to accept her offer to let them withdraw from their encounter in Hueco Mundo. Why Aizen easily struck down Toshiro Hitsugaya in the Central 46 chamber, but didn't engage Unohana. Imagine, from the first moment we saw her, Captain Unohana has been stronger than the version of Kenpachi Zaraki that Ichigo couldn't even cut! And Zaraki is older that we knew, having been a boy when Unohana was still acknowledged as "the Kenpachi" - a title that would later be held by nine other Captains in a row - before Zaraki finally wanders into Seireitei and kills the 10th Kenpachi. He's potentially as old as Shunsui and Ukitake. The epic Kenpachi fight is faster and clearer in the anime than it appears in the manga, but I'm still not clear on what exactly Minazuki's bankai does (other than flood the battlefield with what appears to be blood, that MAY amplify the force of her sword slashes). It's interesting that her shikai and bankai names are pronounced the same but have different meanings. Her shikai is "Flesh-Drops' Gorge" while her bankai is "All Things' End."
And the Other Hand Royd Lloyd the Sternritter that copy Yhwach his version of the yourself is copy 80% power and 100% memories. So it make sense he can one shot kenpachi. Because he have 80% Yhwach power and his skill.
Yeah you're right about the ending. Tbh they should've concentrated on the Kenpach vs Unohana fight to the end, and just put the Nimiya/Ichigo situation on the next episode.
Great reaction honestly. Its a bit overwhelming with the visuals and info dump between unohana & zaraki but also cutting to ichigo & renji with shigifune & oh-etsu. The ending is just setup for the following epi's. Sidenote i noticed your eye and just want to say i hope everything is alright with you and staying safe, healthy and happy kina.
This fight is really amazing, the staff make it look as gorgeous as it could be. And yes, the pacing for this last 3 episodes were really fast, they cut some content (rukia peaches R.I.P). They also rearranged the fight to be in 2 episodes so it didn't had one slow paced/boring episode and the other just fight (not the best choice IMO). Great reaction ♥
Completely agree with you on the ending. When I watched it I tuought it was kinda disrespectful to both kenpachis when they were having a moment. I was near tears when they fought and then this clown Killah Bee guy steals the show.

Remember Kenpachi is a title. in soul society only one kenpachi can be around at the time.previous kenpachi get killed by the current kenpachi.
It honestly still feels a little surreal that Bleach came back. This arc has been a blast so far.

With Genryusai and Unohana gone, it marked the ending of the 1st era of Gotei 13 captains.
