Recreating an Icon - Terracotta Replacement at Old Cook County Hospital

Possibly the most captivating piece of the old Cook County Hospital building redevelopment is the restoration of its exterior facade. Walsh Construction is working with Gladding, Mcbean to fully restore approximately 4,000 pieces of terracotta on the century-old building. Our team is engaged with a detailed process, from removal to replacement, with each repaired piece of terracotta taking a cross country journey to rejuvenate the historic building's appearance.
