It’s so true. A lot of people say professional hair color is better, but maybe for professionals if you catch my drift. Box hair dyes and bleach aren’t what they used to be even 10 years ago. They work super well for the average consumer. My advice is to get a good anti-brass dye after it if you’re going blonde or a lighter brown.
I am a professional and I can tell you professional is absolutely better. Even the ingredients. Same with hair products. You don’t know what kind of crap they are putting in it. That being said, as a professional I know people are still going to use box dye no matter what I say so more power to y’all! Don’t tell anyone but even I use box dye here and there LOL
@@CatLady-be9tn this yes. i stopped going b/c of this and i learned how to bleach my own hair or cut it myself (ive always dyed my own hair but bleaching was a big step to learn). and im not half bad. so, no more rude professionals:))

Red eats up color more than any other. I had the same problem when trying to lighten my burgundy hair. Fortunately, when I get bleached (been a while), the color lifts well. Thank you for this video!
Everyone always says to use Sally's products instead of box bleach, but I like what you said! I feel like my hair is healthier and more even with box dye. Also the SMELL with the straight bleach and developer from Sally's is ridiculous!!!
Nice to see you back Beth, funny as I am losing my hair at quite the rate of knots that I watch your hair dye vids... I see the irony of that haha! but guess it's just nice to learn something from a pro on a subject your unfamiliar with - I'm a suckered for knowledge XD
Lol box bleaches aren't exactly idiot proof since you mix 3 things instead of 2 and have to try not to spill powder everywhere trying to get it in the bottle 🤣 I like box bleaches as well cuz they aren't as thick/are easier to apply but I find the tubs a lot cheaper than buying several box kits. Your voice is so calming
Fair point 😂 I guess “mostly” idiot proof would’ve been more accurate lol. And true, it’s definitely cheaper with tubs! But box bleaches have always been easier and less stressful for me so they’re worth it haha. Thank you so much!! 🙏
hey so hair can safely lift about 4 levels in one session so if your hair is dark brown and you do a regular lightening session at a salon it should easily lift to the light brown color you want with a little toning. If you can’t go to a salon for any reason you can definitely do it at home too, just make sure to do lots of research first! u got this
@@qrcadia When I went to the salon to get my hair light caramel they actually bleached it then put a brown toner in it. It started very blonde then once the toner was in it was light brown. And it never faded back to blonde
I used color remover from a purple burgundy. Originally had bleached blonde, changed to the burgundy/purple.. then wanted my blonde back cause the dark always makes me look older everyone says! 😬 the oops type is what I used… IT SMELLS AWFUL! Make sure your having an open area ,windows, something .. my whole dorm area reeked ,People complained .it wasn’t a good situation. People who said that were rude, I’m sure dark colors are super pretty on you too! I’m so sorry you had that experience 😔 I’ve never used Color Oops and never plan to because of the things I’ve heard about it haha. I’ve been giving my hair a break lately and it’s been very stress-free! 😂 Bleaching our own hair is sooo stressful lol
I personally need 3 but it depends on how long or thick your hair is! Bleach is a lot thicker than dye so it’s harder to spread. Without enough bleach it can be really splotchy
will this work if i had just washed my hair, im truing to go from black box dye to bright red, i used a colour remover this afternoon and my hair is a dark auburn colour

First, you didn’t have “black hair” it had red in it which is why it didn’t work, it only lightened it. Second. One box won’t lift to a blonde that color, its only going to make it that color after like 5-6 boxes and total hair damage.
First, black hair with a red tint is a thing. Second, I think you maybe missed the fact that I wasn't trying to go blonde and it did exactly what I needed it to do lol, so it did indeed work

Completely agree! 🙏
What would happen if you put ash blonde over the hair after bleaching it? Would it turn blonde?

how long do I have to wait to get rid of a dark brown dye that ended up too dark almost black to bleach it? my desired shade is a light brown

Bleaching your dark brown hair may make it too light for what you want, but you could bleach and do a lighter brown color over, that’s what I did 😊

color oops if i'm correct opens up the cuticle a lot so you can wash out the color quicker, so its gonna dry regardless.
Love it! May I ask do you need to use 3 boxes of bleach or one is okay? Why do you use 3 just to be sure before i go buy it :)

It’s easy if u use a comb
Always do color oops to get rid of that red and I promise you it won’t peak through!
I’ll have to remember that! 🙏Thanks!!
Love you in the hair at the beginning. What eyeshadow is that btw?
Thanks 😊 It’s from a palette I got from Amazon called Pretty All Set by UCANBE. Highly recommend 👍

will this work if i had just washed my hair, im truing to go from black box dye to bright red, i used a colour remover this afternoon and my hair is a dark auburn colour
It’s best to wait if you can and do it on unwashed hair! Otherwise your scalp doesn’t have the natural oils to protect it from the bleach

Right?! Same 😂😂😂
This did not work for me. However, i have 10yrs of permanent black box dye plus henna on my hair.
I'm sorry it didn't work for you! I've wanted to try henna in the past but I didn't because I heard that it's almost impossible to get out sadly

Does anyone know if I can use this on already bleached once orange hair?
As long as your hair has had some time to recover, yes 😊 I try to wait at least a month or longer before bleaching my hair again
@@bethanyameyer I'll try to wait, but I don't know how long I can look like a lemonhead.
@@sugarbear0502 I know the struggle 😂 Putting some oil in before you bleach can help protect it! Or doing a few hair masks before always helps 😊
Is it for all hair types
Yes! 😊 It will work differently on different hair types though
