Firelands Chevrolet presents "Mrs Hayes" our 2023 Holiday Story

- Rooted in nostalgia and community, tells the story of Mrs. Hayes, who drives a turquoise-colored 1957 Chevy Bel Air Nomad station wagon, until one day, when she is in a supermarket parking lot, the car’s engine stops working. Closing her eyes, the woman relieves numerous memories from her past, from the moment she had to say goodbye to her lost lover, who became a military (and left the car to her) to the moment she settled in a neighborhood where a bunch of kids became her new friends. With one of them, though - a boy named Billy - she created a special bond and, as the film ends, it turns out he is still present in her life, cherishing her. The day she finds herself unable to start the car, he appears by her side and helps her move her bags into the trunk of his car, a Chevrolet.
On Christmas day, Mrs. Hayes gets a wonderful surprise: at her front door Billy, his wife and his daughter show up with an unexpected “gift”: her old Chevy, repaired, which she immediately takes for a drive.
Dam you Chevy. 3 of the best Christmas commercials ever. And for some reason onions were in the room at the same time I watched each of them.

Oh Lord, I had wanted to see something that explained the 1 minute commercial, but this truly gave me some massive feels, including the tears.
It’s not often that I admire, respect, am grateful to, anything that is deeply embedded in capitalism. But I have two dear old friends, married to each other, one with dementia, the other the “chief cook and bottle washer” as they call themselves. The loneliness of that world. How hard it is for me, also chronically ill, but not terminally so, trying to reach in, and respond meaningfully when the caregiver reaches out. Feeling the grief and poignancy, feeling the beauty of moments of memory, precious, all the precious moments .....
Thanks Chevrolet. And especially the crew that made the ad. Hats off to each of you!

I’m 80 years old and have seen heard
many touching things, songs, commercial, movies, etc. This very thoughtful commercial ranks with best of them. I think I’ll go buy a new Chevy.
It’s was so touching. Brought a tear or 2 my eyes.
I used to help the kids in my old neighborhood.. wonder where they have all wondered off to. Hope they are all well.

All my life i drove GM learned on a 1977 Bonneville had chevy camero caprice Cutlass buick impala now i drive a Pontiac G6 it runs deep for my family! 🤍
