Note:
Gallivanter G- lock are a little tiny bit heavier. I have a pair and I was kindof wishing I got the non removable spike gallivanter they’re a bit lighter feeling.
Great solid shoes I’m getting into g4 as well 👍
I have the MG4X2 and the MG4+. I absolutely love them. The little bubbles on the sole really massage the feet as you walk. They’re well constructed and they look good. I’ve had a few people tell me they liked my shoes at the course. That never happens with other shoes. They’re also comfortable and look good to wear off the course. My wife wears G/Fore shoes as well.
We were actually looking to get some new ones for the new season just the other day. Now that I have your coupon code, we might pull the trigger tonight. Thanks!
Great, thorough review .. as usual, perfect!👌
Thank you!
Wore the gallivan2rs for the first time on Thursday and immediately my favorite shoes ever. They’re almost as comfortable as the Ecco Biom’s but considerably more stylish.
Considering the gallivanters now (and then I’m done for a while!)
I have the MG4’s and they’re great, although I haven’t gotten to play in them in bad weather or wet conditions. Are the gallivan2r’s enough grip for tougher/wet conditions or is it worth going with the gallivnaters?
Do the gallivanter2r fit true to size?
Great stuff Sean…love you reviewing stuff that most aren’t but are critical to a good round of golf…how about reviewing sunglasses???
Just picked a pair of g lock blue galivanters for £135. Bargain ❤
Where are they made/manufactured?
Absolutely the best shoes ever!
I'm definitely a convert. Love every pair I've worn.
My next shoe buy is the GFORE Gallivanter
I'm not sure I've talked to a single person who has them that doesn't really like them
I’ve read in several places that the overall quality of Gfore shoes just isn’t there. There are reports of their shoes falling apart prematurely, stitching coming off, soles coming loose, glue not holding and scuffing easily. I hope they have addressed these issues.
I’ve owned the two pair I have since last June. I play golf three to five times per week, depending on the weather (year around here in Alabama). That’s pretty close to 150 rounds of golf between the two pair. Both still look pretty new and are in great shape. Granted, that’s a small sample size, but I came back to this video just now to get the discount code as I’m about to order more.
Can’t remember if it was covered in the video or not, but the MG4+ are very easy to clean. I just wipe them off with a wet paper towel after the round and they look brand new again.
Honestly, I haven't of people having those issues, and I certainly haven't had any. On the contrary, theyve been among the more durable shoes I've owned across the board. But to @kennethbnorris's point, the MG4+ is particularly easy to clean.
That’s good to know. Especially at that price point. I had a pair of MG4’s but returned them because they looked “plasticky” to me. Is the gallivan2r the same material?
Also, do the gallivanters crease in the toe after some use? How about about the gallivan2r’s?
I had quality issues with this brand as well followed by an extreme lack of customer service from G Fore. I purchased 2 pairs of shoes from their website at $250 per pair. One pair the sole became completely unglued in about 4 months and the other pair ripped at the lace holes when tying them up. After submitting photos and copies of receipts i was informed that G Fore only warranties their shoes for 90 days. Because mine were 4 months or so old, i was told to go pound salt and was given no repair or replacement option. I will never buy another pair of their shoes again. Footjoy you have this loyal customer for life because you stand behind your products for a lifetime.
did you find the gfore shoes to be about a half size smaller than other shoes?
I personally haven't necessarily found that. I'm a size 12 and they've fit pretty true to size for me across the board.
I just bought 2 pairs of
Have you reviewed olakai?
I haven't! But have heard pretty good things.
What about the G112. That’s my favorite.
I've never been fully on board with the looks of the G112, but it's one of the few in the G/FORE lineup I havent worn, so whenever I test them, maybe my opinion on them will change!
@@breakingeighty I totally get it. The look is polarizing for sure, but the comfort level is off the charts. And the grip is amazing
crazy most higher end shoes are now in this price range.
I spy a Friars Hat😊
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ;)
Those are very sharp looking but I can’t justify $200 for any shoe. Needed golf shoes this year and got some $80 adidas. They look good-kind of like Stan Smiths but are apparently golf shoes-but aren’t very athletic.
Adidas has some solid deals. If you're looking for a more robust shoe, I've seen seen the Adidas Tour 360 get down around $100 for previous seasons model.
If you are going to buy golf shoes that cost that much I wouldn’t recommend them over FJ premiers. Cheaper leather and materials in comparison. 75 rounds at least in my galavanters. So ridiculously comfortable but longevity isn’t there for me.
