    sees opponent's deck --> sees EE --> is there anything for me to needle besides creeping tar pit?
    short answer: yes

    • @natestephens7326
      @natestephens7326 Před 7 lety

      Code Provider thing is creeping tarpit was already in his opponents hand and he was going to mill the EE

    • @CodeProvider
      @CodeProvider Před 7 lety +1

      Nate Stephens yeaa ik creeping tarpit is still the play. i just think it's funny that he just mentioned ee then seemed to forget about it as a possibility

    The amount of times your opponent didn't surgical your lantern was kind of maddening

    Best magic deck ever.

  • @seannissen2509

    Highly underrating surgical. Luckily the opponent had no idea what they were doing with them

  • @MattMarheine
    @MattMarheine Před 7 lety

    At 27:40, opponent should have held priority after casting the second Tasigur. Allows them to do the activation without risking getting back the soon-to-be-legend-ruled one.

    why didnt opp surgical lantern after he destroyed it

    You should only use Bell blindly if you already have Academy Ruins to recover your milled combo pieces, G2 was a good example of this, you would have drawn an Ensnaring Bridge if you hadn't milled it away, and that would give you a decent chance to win the game.

      @LMShura Před 7 lety +2

      You always mill regardless of what you have, milling the incorrect card will happen but that doesn't mean it's the wrong choice. On average you'll mill a card that doesn't matter and makes the chances of getting a meaningful card more likely, not to mention that if you ever raw academy ruins or codex later in the game you can bring back whatever

    • @feliperodrigues5437
      @feliperodrigues5437 Před 7 lety

      The risk of milling the combo pieces and the Academy Ruins isn't worth it, blind milling accomplishes nothing.

    • @goatrevolt
      @goatrevolt Před 7 lety

      If the game is going to go long, self mill is actually very useful as it allows you to later use codex shredder or academy ruins to return threats. You're just as likely to mill toward finding a bridge as you are to mill one. It doesn't change the odds of finding a bridge at all, and can provide minor late game value.

    • @Spiderbyte12
      @Spiderbyte12 Před 7 lety

      You're misunderstanding the nature of randomness here.
      The deck is in a random order. The ensnaring bridge is some number of cards from the top of the deck.
      If you mill yourself once every turn, instead of drawing cards 1-10 from the top, you can draw cards 2,4,6 etc. Since the deck is in a random order, the odds of finding any given card are exactly the same.
      Or to put it differently, if you shuffled your deck each time, you're still equally likely to draw an ensnaring bridge. While you would technically be drawing different cards, the odds of any outcome happening don't change at all.
      All self milling accomplishes (blindly) is putting cards into the graveyard, and thus making drawing academy ruins a more likely out. It's strict upside.
      tl;dr changing the order of a random set of cards doesn't effect the odds. Self milling from the top is exactly the same as self milling from the bottom in terms of effecting your draws.

      Or had more bridges.

    12:39 Why not pyxis instead of bell? You can't get back ghost quarter with ruins anyway.

    spellskite is actually terrible against k command. they can just choose to damage to it and shatter another artifact and you can't redirect.

    • @Karonar
      @Karonar Před 7 lety

      That's wrong. You can redirect the shatter effect even if it's the target of the shock part (at least in paper magic, dunno if it works like that on mtgo)

    • @stonerkebab9498
      @stonerkebab9498 Před 7 lety

      I believe the only case this is true is when a spell targets both spellskite and another target with the same effect, think conflagrate.

    The mishra's baubles seems a bit interesting, as a way to find the pieces. Are they actually good in this deck?

    • @NormalPerson8
      @NormalPerson8 Před 7 lety

      Deck thinning which is also good with the mox.

  • @NormalPerson8
    @NormalPerson8 Před 7 lety

    Honestly? 2 bridges? 2 continuous wraths? I hope you learn your lesson. The jar solves eh number of cards/problems compared to the cards it is meant to protect/enable.

    I get that this deck does work, but the game should not be, "I get to play magic and you don't". The game is boring, a snooze fest.. just ban ancient stirring and good riddance. Its the card this is associated with the most broken decks..and yes i do think this is broken, you can't lose, and the only way you lose is by running the time out..

    • @MrRancid1988
      @MrRancid1988 Před 7 lety +1

      It still isn't a fun deck. You play magic to actually play the game, not sit there and wonder if you'll be able to play any cards.

    • @NormalPerson8
      @NormalPerson8 Před 7 lety +1

      Don't you get that problem with needing your colors and your lands? Lantern just takes the slower rout to a turn whatever win. It is still a turn whatever win in my book.

    • @NormalPerson8
      @NormalPerson8 Před 7 lety

      Magic is actually about hand vs. hand. You'd rather not run artifact removal is what you're saying.

    • @oORoOFLOo
      @oORoOFLOo Před 7 lety

      pros dont play this deck because it is boring to play and modern is format full of more fun decks. Why would you pick the most boring deck in (in my eyes) the most fun format. And ofc, it is not like this deck is unbeatable, if it was THAT broken, pros would play it since they play for the $$$.

    What the hell are you doing playing this BS Lantern control deck BBD you are the world champion man don't be that guy :P

    • @NormalPerson8
      @NormalPerson8 Před 7 lety +5

      Learn to be that guy, magic is not just drawing creatures and burn spells and all that. It's about all the printed cards.

  • @MrRancid1988
    @MrRancid1988 Před 7 lety

    Normally I enjoy BBD videos, but this deck I can never appreciate. It's not interactive at all. Basically you can't plat Magic against it.
