    I think i told you about when I drilled a hole in the center of my riding mower hood and installed an LED spot light wired with a toggle switch . It was like having the Sun mounted on there haha . Lots of night mowing going on instead of doing it in those 93 degree days

    If ya take em apart and find the reflective part peeling try using aluminum foil tape. Carefully cover it without creases and it actually reflects better than the stock chrome plating. Old motorcycle trick from before everybody had money to burn lmao

      Good Idea, and that is actually for duct work, so it will stand some heat.

    I've been wanting to put LED lights on my trailer and you gave me the idea to see if they have LED replacements for 1157 bulbs. They do, so I ordered some and will try them instead of replacing the whole housing, wiring and all like I was planning.

    The unregulated light circuits are AC voltage so you'll lose half the waveform unless you rectify it. Obviously without the engine running this mower has the lights wired to the battery. Not all are.

    i bought some of these. the lense on top unscrews. you want to put some thread locker on it. they will vibrate apart.

    Find some chrome plated buckets, even more light. Spray chrome works to if the bulbs don't run to hot.

    A little cleaning and a couple bucks and what a difference.I also upgraded the 1157 to led"s in my old Wheel Horse. The light output is much more plus it draws less.

    I did this to my John Deere using these lights and found out that they get VERY hot. So hot that they will die out after about 5 min. then come back on after about 20 sec. after they cool off a bit,,, only to cut back off and repeats the cycle

    I don't even bother with the factory housings. I just put some of the chinese 18 watt pod lights on the front of a mower. Costs about $15

    The big problem I've had with running LEDs is that the mower regulates too poorly, especially at low temperatures, and the bulbs burn out.

    I just bought an older Ariens, the light don’t work. The bulbs are good. Could it be the switch? Is there a diagram I can get that shows the wiring to the switch and to the bulbs?

    • @jetenginethrust863
      @jetenginethrust863 Před 8 měsíci

      You could add a switch on your dash and just run directly from your battery to the lights and use the negative or positive wire to put the switch on to turn them off or on...

    Yes, but your headlights are more well designed 😅 the craftsman lt2000 that I’ve got has plastic cheap design that I’m figuring out how to upgrade, I’ve purchased the same type of bulb but with this cheap “foil type” side to side reflector and huge holes around the socket adaptors it makes me feel bad haha. Nice difference just to swap bulbs when casing and reflectors aren’t that bad.

    Do you "possibly" have the link from "Who" you bought these bulbs from?
    I need 10 if them!🤫

    I've had a new pair of LED headlight bulbs (H1) for a car, that I ended up not using... I'm going to install them in my utility mower LoL 😂😂😂
    Going to rewire so they run from the battery... just have to remember not to leave them on... should be hard to miss though.

      How'd it go

    • @Yhrim70
      @Yhrim70 Před 2 lety

      @@that_crankytf9571 they work great, can see everything at night when pulling my small trailer or etc. But can't forget to turn them off as soon as I shut the mower down, or they will drain the battery enough in just a couple minuets where it won't start.
