The new ExaPen from Rotkee opens up electrical diagnostic testing allowing you to load test wires that are difficult to access connected. The ExaPen applies a 1 kilo-ohm resistor to the circuit which will help diagnose voltage drop on identify high resistance circuits. The ExaPen also features a PWM (Pulse With Modulation) output which allows you to adjust positive and negative duty cycle up to 20 amps! (this prototype maxed out at 15 amps). The tool is very safe to use and utilizes an electronic fuse which checks the circuit as you test; unlike a thermal fuse which requires an increase in current before it pops (risky). The tool also features some very basic oscilloscope features, like a graphing multimeter and low spec oscilloscope. Check it out!

A rotary switch a few load resistors and a push button switch and you can use your scope meter!
Thank You for good review of nice tool! Rotkee makes good stuff)
Чекаємо огляд і у вашому виконанні)
Підтримую!
Rotkee make nice stuff at affordable price.
Fantastic product
Neat gadget and excellent presentation as per usual. Have fallen into the gadget market too many times. Will stick to my picoscope, handheld scope, fluke meter, Logic probe and function generator. Please keep the videos coming.
Easy to pile them gadgets high! 😅 Thanks
Rotkee is very good.
Seems to be a waiting list at the moment with that said which power probe would be the closest in functions to this my guess is the maestro but I would like to hear your opinion thanks
Pre Order I think. The PP Meastro: does it output PWM up to 20A? Also does it load test wires? I see the scope features are quite cool. Not familiar with that tool myself 😅
@@MechanicMindset I know pp has an adapter for pwm for any of their probes not sure if the maestro needs it I’m not familiar with it either but the small screen on the rotkee is deterring me slightly getting older lol
Hi, thanks for the video. Would this be safe to load test ECU 5v supplies, grounds and returns in the resistor mode?
Thanks
Half way through video at point of posting apologies if you cover this
It should be fine. 5V at 1000ohm is 5mA, 12mA for 12V
hello, my best wishes 2024, thank you for the presentation
Which is better for test loaded voltage drop, loadpro or this? This tool looks great and I like that it can use detachable banana plug leads. Because many tools have non-replaceable cords, and if the cord breaks, you have to buy a new tool.
To be honest I’ve not used the Loadpro. I suppose some benefits of this are the graphing multimeter mode, current draw of the circuit is displayed and PWM power output 👍
@@MechanicMindset the product is sold out, but I immediately pre-ordered this. this would be perfect if the output voltage could also be adjusted for e.g. 5v sensors...
@@LapinAutodiagnostiikkaOy hopefully they look through this feedback. Other wise, there is a tool for that

@@MechanicMindset I have 5v adapter for powerprobe tool, but that is not adjustable, so not useable for checks... Thanks for your videos, always nice to watch, and wait for new videos 🙏 You are professional.
@@LapinAutodiagnostiikkaOy Thanks! More on the way
I need you to do a detail video on crank and cam signal, for beginners who re learning how to detect cylinder 1 from crank signal and where or how to look for it, and how to look for cylinder 2, Infact we also want a video on how to use the cam signal to match with the crank, we need a detail video, we also want to see the flex plate reluctor tooth’s being count in the crank signal the scope gives, we really need something very down for beginner, cos all the videos we watch, the information are for pro..
Thanks for another awesome video, Darren, just 1 question,,which part of the 'Banana' do i plug that tool into,as i'v been to the greengrocers and bought a bag of Bananas. 🙂 ha!
🤣🤣🤣
How long did it take you to get it. I have been waiting 2 months for an order and the tracker said it was sent back. I have send an email.
It doesn’t usually take too long. Sounds like there might have been a shipping issue. I haven’t heard back from them for a while either. They will sort you out I’m sure; honest business in difficult circumstances
I got email back. They received package back. There was a mistake made on their end on destination country. They apologize and are sending it back out with a gift. I await my pressure transducer and pulse sensor. I thought they were the real deal as you and other youtubers speak highly of them.@@MechanicMindset
Put a plug on it so you can plug it into the lap top or the scope the display is way to small
To be honest, the scope would not be the reason you buy this 😅. It’s just for a quick check really
The 8 channel scope for 220us on the website I wonder if it's like the hantek next review on mechanic mindset 👍
👍👍
Bummer no more scopes
They are coming 🤞🤞🤞
I have one here ready to review. But they’re not available so don’t want to upset everyone 😆

Silly, this kind of thing has been overdone! Screen is way too small to be useful. Why try to reinvent the wheel? That one definitely looks like a paid commercial.
I ordered some other stuff from them that I really like, so I am not trying to knock them. Just my 2 Cents
Hi, we didn’t get paid for the video, nor commission on sales. What do you use for driving PWM controlled solenoids? There’s not much out there for that..
Nah
Not for you? If you could have one diag tool, what would it do?
