Why can't you connect the fuel filter directly to the hose? Why do you need the hose connector in between?

I swiped the fuel line from my trimmer because I needed one for my chain saw ASAP. When I went to replace the one on the trimmer, like an idiot I first removed the SECOND line - the one that goes to the primer and ends with just a connector inside the fuel tank hole. I thought I'd replace both lines while I was at it. Bad idea - now I had to replace BOTH lines. I got the fuel line kit that is supposed to be the one for this trimmer. It came with three different lines, with no explanation. One was too small - obviously not the right one. The other two were about the same size, but one had writing on it - no clue what that is all about. I used the one without writing. It was WAY harder to feed the lines through the holes than in the video. I repeatedly oiled the line to help it through, but then of course it was much harder to get a grip on each 1/8" and force it through. After two Advils and a ton of blue smoke, I finally got the job done.

I did everything right except replace the fuel line connector before the fuel filter. Da! This caused my engine to not run well at all. Be sure to not leave this step out. A very small part, but the connector provides the proper restriction to the fuel line to enable the carburetor to draw fuel properly. This one part can be difficult to find, but Husqvarna customer help really stepped up and provided me with the information I needed to order this $1.65 part via our local ACE Hardware store.

You’re kidding me? I left it out. Seemed unnecessary. Now it won’t run right. I guess I need to find it? 🤨

does the fuel line connector need to get inserted into the tank wall? If so, I understand how that might prevent the flexible fuel line from getting constricted by the tank wall. I wasn't able to insert the connector into the tank wall -- it's a super tight opening and even just pulling the fuel line through is somewhat difficult. The Repair Clinic video doesn't address this detail. From other youtube videos on this topic it seems some have eliminated the connector and had no problems. I have found no clear answer as to the purpose of the connector, nor how it is installed out of the factory.

@@mikewalinskas2016 no its just before the filter down in the tank. I dont understand it. I put mine back on and it still wont run right. Im fed up with this thing.

@RepairClinic - Is this the same way you would install it on a Husqvarna 235e chainsaw?

Problem is, the nipple doesn’t go on the filter line, it’s supposed to go on the short return line so the tube doesn’t pull out.

thats what I was going to ask. It seems redundant when the filter can attach directly to the hose...

Definitely a waste of time. I specifically put 129L Husqvarna weed eater fuel line diagram and you give me a different model NOT like the 129L.

I did pretty much everything in the video my trimmer turn on one time and then it did not started again. it seems that when I prime the air out with the bubble it does not purge the air out and fuel leaks. the pulling line feels very loose when I try to turn it on as well
    please help?
