  • This is how I clean the sensor on my Leica SL2 and SL2-S. It's a delicate process so definitely take caution and don't move too quickly!

Super useful man, I haven't cleaned my SL2-s either haha. I should probably do it 😅

Thanks Alex! I’m shocked how clean my sensors have stayed but after my last trip to the desert I knew it needed to be done haha 😅

Cleaned my M11 sensor a few days ago because I typically shoot at f11 and can see EVERYTHING. My technique is side to side like you but then a swipe top and bottom and meet in the middle to make sure I pick up the stubborn spots that don't get the same amount of light pressure placed on the center sensor.

Nice! Someone else mentioned a up and down addition, maybe I’ll try that next time

A more advance clean will include 1. Take shot of a white surface or clear blue sky at f11or f16. This shows up all dust on the sensor. 2. Wet both sides of the sensor Pic. 3. Front left to right pass the gently touching the sensor with the Pic, flip the Pic and repeat movement from left to right. Take another shot as before this show you what is gone or still has to be clean again. Repeat process until the sensor is clean. NB. Gently always.

do you suggest to leave camera and ibis on using air blowers as well? thanks

That’s what I do! I don’t like the idea of putting pressure on the ibis without it being engaged haha
