West End ~ Food Fight! Treasure Kung Fu Kicks Sterling Off Nest! Sterling Tumbles Off 😲 6.14.24

- It was a beautiful day for flying and the fledglings did not disappoint! First up we see Koa flying into the historic nest as he flies right in front of the cam! A little while later, Sterling makes its way to the historic nest with a beautifully controlled landing!
Later in the day, a parent makes a fish delivery to the natal nest and everyone heads back to the nest. The cam was not pointed on the nest at that time- but we do see Treasure and Sterling both on the nest and Koa off close to the basement. Sterling has the fish!! Treasure is waiting for an opportunity to steal it - Koa comes to the nest gingerly. Treasure goes for a steal attempt and they tussle - Koa takes off just in time! Sterling will protect its food and go at Treasure with its wings up and they both fight - Koa flies past the nest again as Treasure will kung fu kick Sterling sending Sterling tumbling off the nest backwards! Feathers were flying in the air as Sterling went down! Treasure watches Sterling recover and fly off - Sterling is okay! But that was intense!! Treasure then gets to eat the remainder of the fish.
There is another flyby about 15 minutes later - not sure if that is Koa or Sterling but they sure do soar beautifully!
They are not the three amigos any longer when food is involved! It is every fledgling for themselves now! Thank you for watching!

Nest info: Eaglets WE1 (Koa), hatch 3/9 -3am; WE2 (Treasure), hatch 3/9 -7pm; WE3 (Sterling) 3/12 hatch by 4:10am; Thunder (F) 15 yrs old; Akecheta (M) (wing tag 61) 8 yrs old.
This eagle pair is a success story, part of a bald eagle restoration program started by the Institute for Wildlife Studies in 1980. Their nest has been active since 1991 and has been streaming live since 2005.

This fight was really hot and dangerous 😮 No buddies anymore and in this stage of their development aggression is visible. Koa’s feather patterns are beautiful!
All this time I thought sterling had some white on its tail and Treasure was mostly brown/black. At least that’s what I always heard on the chat. So it’s Sterling that has the least amount of white on its tail?

😲😲 Oh meu gosh!! This titanic fight for the fish between our fledglings Treasure and Sterling was very intense indeed!! 🔥 And what a “Kung Fu Treasure style" kick our Little Sterling got!! 💥 Oh yeah!! I guess Treasure didn't take her eyes off Sterling after it tumbled off the nest to make sure her beloved sibling was okay, recovered and flew away. (9:50) Yes yes!! Now when food is involved, it's every fledgling for themselves, Mommy Thunder & Daddy Akecheta for their three precious fledglings and God for all of them. 💞💞 May be I'm completely wrong, but I'm sure of it!! 💞💞 Bless their hearts. 🙌💞🙌 May God bless them abundantly and watch over them always. 🙏🌱🙏 Oh yeah!!
