  • Talk about some really nice parts!
    The fit and finish on these Treal and Hot Racing parts are just great - really love the black brass on the Treal portals - the edge bevels really stand out!
    Common wisdom in the rc crawler world is to get weight low and on the front...but perhaps on in rotating weight. This means the best weight is on the axles, and Treal and Hot Racing have us covered!
    Now, you will see a lot of what I add in this video is aluminum. I did this for strength. Yes, brass is heavier, and brass would probably be strong enough, but for the parts of the axle that really do the work, I wanted that aluminum strength. Have you seen how I drive? :)
    At the end of the video you can see the testing...and that danged impossible to climb wall in our front yard. Do I make it? Watch to find out!
    Upgrade parts in this video:

    - Treal brass outer front portal housings: amzn.to/2EQJqAJ

      I really think the quality was top notch on these parts.

    Might want to look at the galvanic corrosion chart and compare yellow brass and aluminum.. keep it all clean and you’ll be fine. Let it sit.. it’s going to corrode

      @RoadsideRC  Před 3 lety

      Oooh! I hadn't even thought of that!!!
      Thanks.

    Strength wise, I ran all brass Treal parts and their housings for the 12 hour Recon G6 Fix without any problems and still running them! No worries!

      Thanks for the input!
      I kind of guessed that they would be fine...but just felt safer this way over the long run. Might have been a mistake.
      Thanks again!

    Awesome man. You should try out a set of yeah racing desert lizard 90mm shocks and do a video about droop setups. I just got mine yesterday and it's very different from what I'm used to

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  Před 4 lety +1

      Awesome! Great idea. The Desert Lizard shocks seem very popular right now.

      @waynesanders5409 Před 2 lety

      I’m using the stock shocks on full droop and it seems to do well I’d like to try a set of the dl on my gspeed tho

    Brass all the way very heavy tho, Treal has some nice product great upgrades putting some nice stuff on this truck

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  Před 4 lety

      Yeah, that is exactly why I didn't go full brass. Figured it would just add up to too much weight.

    Hi, what wheels do you have because im wondering about the fitment, if the portal cover fits in my wheel so im asking so that i can search your wheels online and take a glance how much space they have inside. Thanks

    Great video Troy! Are you using the small batteries in the front of the truck?

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  Před 4 lety

      I am not. I used a KYX battery and servo relocation kit that allow for a larger battery to be placed directly over where the motor is.

    And one last comment for your question at the end, if it makes you happy to get another upgrade, do it! Personally I’ll only get an upgrade when I brake the same part multiple time in a row. I use the money that I don’t spend on upgrade to save for a new rc (typhon 6s)

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  Před 4 lety

      Thanks!
      That is typically what I would do also. Typhon 6S will be a blast!

    • @RoadsideRC

      I thought about it...but think they will just drag on stuff. Am I wrong?

    • @jrc-fabs1634
      @jrc-fabs1634 Před 4 lety

      Sorta cause I’ve had mine for almost a year and the 4 link is all rusty from scratched and tranny cover(plastic) had deep scratches. Most of em came from that extreme rock crawling video on my channel. Also when mine hits hard it’s really loud. Skids will help that. I’m thinking about getting some

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  Před 4 lety +1

      Ha! Yeah, they do get there! This truck has seen a few crawling days since...they already are showing signs of wear.

  • @rockn711

    I think you confused brass with copper. Brass is much stronger and harder than both copper and aluminum
