    Big thanks to Justin for filming and for being a great spotter!

    Thanks everyone for the views and comments. To those of you who have asked, I got this rig with 99k and sold it with about 110k on it. I loved the expedition, it was a great size for a camping rig, the suspension was great off-road with the rear sway bar removed, and I loved the sound of it. I ultimately sold it due to mechanical frustrations - The head gaskets had to be replaced due to a oil leak at the back of the head (seems to be a rare but known issue on 99-00 trucks), the rear axle seals blew, I had an intermittent misfire that I could never fix despite replacing the whole ignition system, and the final nail in the coffin was when the heater core blew and my brand new water pump grenaded and stranded me on the side of the road in the middle of the summer. After that I decided I was tired of fixing it and ordered myself a new 2021 Ranger. If I had to do it over again, I would have gotten a 5.4/4r100/9.75 rear end Expedition instead of the 4.6 I ended up with. It just didn’t have enough power to comfortably push those 33s on the highway.

      Hey if you want another one, I have 3. It's got a 2" lift 5.4 4x4 with 179k miles. Runs great. It's black. All Vegas truck with no rust!

      got a 2000 5.4 triton for 5 years and engine still runs good. had gear shift transmission problem which i never bothered to fix, still working though even after having it since i bought it. just problem with parts so i always buy in amazon as the supplier here in middle east is very expensive

    These trucks are very capable, enjoy.
    Pro tip on sand flag. Drill a hole for a bolt in the middle of the front roof rack crossbar. Thread the flagpole on and done.

      Yeah, honestly was surprised I made it though that spot. We came at it from the top, not the bottom where the trail starts, so didn’t know it was there until it was our way out. Haha

    My 2000 Expedition has a blown head gasket (or maybe a cracked head). I just got rid of it for a new 4Runner. I really wish I had kept it but there was just too much work to do. I had it for 20 years. I miss it.

    • @Siskiyouoffroad
      @Siskiyouoffroad  Před 3 lety +1

      Mine actually had a head gasket issue as well but I had it fixed. But now I’m finding that it has a lot of oil consumption for having 110k miles... and it needs brakes, new front end components, has a misfire I haven’t been able to figure out, and the heater core just went... I said screw it and just ordered a new ranger lol.
