That depends on your targeting system. With a nuke on target, it becomes a “to this person, et al” type of weapon.
Which pretty much amounts to the same thing, except you know who’s at the hypocenter.
Funny cause atomic bombs are a concern to most living thing on the planet. Maybe not so much for deep sea critters though.

My favorite part of the video was when Reggie spoke about the hardest part of safari adventure, that being fighting the alcoholism he "had acquired in dry rock gulch" then it fading to phosphorus Pete was pretty funny to me. There is something about being vague about it and then showing the cause to be the highlight of the video. I like this content creator, 100/100

Somehow you succinctly provided an answer to the Swordfights-in-Scifi argument: in a land of nuclear warheads, the dude pistolwhipping guys is king.
This is ironically why Dune does that too. Laser weapons can cause a nuclear explosion if they hit a shield, so swords are used both because of that, and because they can bypass the shields if pushed in slow and steady, which bullets can't do because they fly into thr shields too fast iirc.
Don't do a lot of melee in FO games really. Mostly use combat rifles and shotguns or revolvers. Tend to put bayonets on them and sometimes use it for the finishing touch. I also tend to kill lesser ghouls with a sword to save ammo, preferably the Ghoul Slayer one, as well as things like rad rats and roaches.
I also like the handmade (AK) rifles in semi auto with a drum and 10mm auto pistols with large quick change mags. Sometimes the mood calls for a gamma gun or laser rifle. Occasionally a gauss rifle combined with VATS will be a better choice than a recon quad barrel RPG and I tend to end up with dozens of unused mini nukes at the end of a playthrough. I mostly use the nukes early on to defeat Assaultrons without using power armor and before I acquire or build a quad recon launcher. I also use nukes for my initial assault of the Gunner held vault outside. Makes it super easy and you target the Assaultron when it is in the vicinity of the gunner guards. At a certain point, if you level up your character a certain way and chose certain perks, you can defeat an Assaultron using VATS with 2-3 shots from a gauss rifle before they can even charge their uber laser.
My favorite special challenge is to not use power armor for the bulk of the game. There are some places you need to but you don't usually need power armor to defeat power armor. I have beat the Mechanist without it. I've also done a no VATS playthrough before.
When I run the Gauntlet and fight the Overboss, I tend to do it without power armor but will use a heavy to put him down quick. Sometimes I have used mini nukes. It is definitely a tricky proposition. I prefer to use the quad recon missile launcher because once you are locked on, you can duck behind cover and fire indirect shots so when he regains the ability to fire, you are protected while you reload and ready the squirt gun for another pass.
