Thanks for making these videos, your uploads are in perfect sync with the questions I have as I am starting my first aquarium.

Great video. 👍 I often heard as a rule of thumb one Amano shrimp per gallon of water 💦
Official WASABI Moderator: You are most welcome!
I’ve followed his steps regarding algae control with Amano shrimp and it works. They are truly the kings of algae removal.
Official WASABI Moderator: Hi Edward, we are moved that our advice has helped out. Thank you for your continued support in helping us grow our channel!
but they often jump out of the aquarium when we're out at work ~~
@@QuicOp Official WASABI Moderator: Yes, but so do fish. Bring down the water level and you'll decrease those chances. Otherwise, use an aquarium lid whilst you are away from home. Thanks for stopping by!
@@QuicOp A properly fitted glass lid will prevent most, if not all escapees and or jumpers from your tank. An added benefit to using a glass lid is the reduction of evaporation during these cold and dry winter months.
@@EdwardPickering Official WASABI Moderator: Very good advice, Edward. Evaporation can be a pain and cause calcium marks on the glass as well. Thank you!
Thanks for the video, thanks

This channel provides detailed instruction. Helped me solve my algae problems. In additionthis guy doesnt provide vague answers.
I have already solved my problem with cyanobacteria. Now this came and helps a lot.
I also did not know that I had to air out my tank every night. Will a skimmer do the same?
I love your channel will definitely purchase if you write a book 😊
Official WASABI Moderator: Hello christian! we are glad you found this video useful in relation to algae control. Please stay tuned for new videos!
@@christianyambao9337 Official WASABI Moderator: Hello again, christian! We are glad to hear you've defeated Cyanobacteria. Good question, unfortunately, a skimmer doesn't provide enough aeration as an air stone or aerator to remove excess CO2 whilst the lights are off. Good suggestion on the book, we have noted this :)
Hello. Thank you for your wonderful videos. It has really encourage me to dive into aquascaping. I currently have a shallow 16 gallon tank. It is about 10 inches high. Is this too small for an Amano shrimp? I don't want them to jump out.
One of my fish keeps eating my amano shrimp. Any other ideas for a good algae eater?
Thank you for the insight! Just a question if i may ask, i knew that Amano's are the best algae eating shrimp out there but does Amano interchangeable with Cherry shrimps in large quantity-wise? (since they're smaller) for example is it ok to use 30 cherry shrimps instead of 10 Amanos in an Aquarium?
Official WASABI Moderator: Hi mahlazer, unfortunately, the Cherry shrimps tend to only eat soft micro-algae and more of bio-film than actual algae. As we've experienced, even with hundreds of Cherry shrimp, you'll still have tons of algae. We understand that Amano shrimps are illegal and prohibited in some countries, such as Australia. For Australian viewers, there is an alternative species called 'Australian Amano Shrimp' (or Caridina Typus), but they are incredibly rare to find and buy. We hope this helps you. Thank you for your continued support in helping us grow our channel!
@@NORIaquaCh Thank you for the fast reply! That's truly a new information for me, i thought both shrimps act as the same algae eater but i guess Amano does it better then. I live in Indonesia so we do have access to Amano's, it's just that i prefer the colorful looks of Cherry in my Aquarium xD. But again since my objective is to lessen the number of algae guess i have to stock more Amanos in the future. Once again thank you for the information.
@@mahlazer Official WASABI Moderator: Hello mahlazer, it's our pleasure to help you at home. Amano shrimp can live in peace together with Cherry shrimp. We hope this helps you. Thank you for your continued support in helping us grow our channel!
Will it be fine to add amano shrimps when I have corydoras in my tank?
Official WASABI Moderator: Hello Bibo, thanks for stopping by. Yes, Amano shrimps will do well in a Corydoras tank. Despite the Cory sizes, they have a small mouth, so Amano shrimps should be fine. We hope this helps!
@@NORIaquaCh great! Thank you very much for the info.
Does corydoras help in removing algae ?
Official WASABI Moderator: Hi weixian, thanks for stopping by. Corydoras catfish are known to pick on some algae, but only small quantities. The answer to your question is that Corydoras catfish do not help remove algae. We hope this helps you 🙇♂️
@@NORIaquaCh thanks for the info
