The characters aren't specifically linked to the music. Just cards that you can get in game. Master Duel is a simulator that lets you play against other players. There's a ranked mode and also events that allow you attend the world championships. It has a different banlist so it's a different format from the physical game. Every song has a beginning theme, a keycard theme that plays when a player summons a boss monster and a climax theme when a player has enough damage on board to go for game.
Edit: Just got to the part where you're reacting to the full themes!

The entire Master Duel OST is just so fucking good
If someone is wondering what does the Key Card and Climax part on the name of the song means, each Duel Theme on the game has 3 version. The Normal version with which you start the game until it changes to another of the 2, the Key Card version that appears when someone Summon a Monster with a special animation and the Climx version thats for when a play life gets to dangerously low. The reason they get cut like that is because there is usually a game sound effect in the middle, like the Summoning Animation sound effect for example

for a bit more context, the "duel" themes are the general bgm you hear while playing normally against somebody, and transitions into "key card" whenever a card with an animation is played, indicating it's importance as they're usually the "boss" monster of your deck or simply very powerful cards, "climax" starts playing once someone is against the ropes, either by being about to be defeated, or is severely crippled, either you win, you lose, or make a comeback whenever a "climax" is sounding
The game has a lot of music, both for regular duels, special events (like festivals or competitions like the world championship) and small story modes for the cards.
The art in the videos are simply captures of the game screens, which in turn are taken from the artworks of some of the cards available to play in the game, there are some songs that are tied to certain artworks because of the story mode, but most are general purpose songs.

Master Duel my beloved. Well to keep it short players tend to group each songs to the Events and Solo Gates (story mode/Tutorial) they play.
Theme 10 plays in the Duel Cup the most tryhard event of all where you need to rank up as fast as you can to advance to the second level.
Theme 15 played for the first time in the Ritual event (only Ritual decks allowed) and returns for other events.
And Theme 11 is the Legend Anthology theme aka Anime and Low power decks only, what it says on the name: an event to evoke nostalgia for the Anime series and a more relaxed event (the theme itself is very, very similar to the Yugioh! 5D anime soundtrack)

  • @supergamerguy64
    @supergamerguy64 Před měsícem +6

Master Duel's music has no need to go this hard, but it sure does. Also the themes aren't really attached to any specific decks, the uploader just chose some cool key-arts and put them there for the video. When you queue into a match it just picks a random one from the pool of music(outside of special events) and then you get the three variations of it based on the board state in-game.
The cards shown are in this order Dark Magician(the boss monster of the MC from the first anime), then Neos, who was a boss monster of the MC of the second anime, and the final is an Odd Eyes Dragon Monster who I believe was used by the MC of the 5th anime? I kinda stopped after the 3rd anime, so i'm less sure on that one.

Though my assessment that it is the character "Neos" is still right, just not as specific. I'd be more curious to know the exact name of the Odd Eyes card, because both that anime and era of YuGiOh are lost on me, because like most I think Pendulums are sorta emblematic of everything wrong with bloated modern card design. Ah here we go, it's "Odd Eyes Arc Pendulum Dragon", which I was right that it is an Odd Eyes Dragon card used by Yuya the protag of Arc V, the 5th series.

so MD player here, while there's no actual typical locales in the game but funny enough the songs are tied to certain locales. Since its a simulator you are able to buy special fields to personalize with your decks and in most cases the duel field has a certain set of songs attached to it, the normal theme (general combat), keycard theme (you summon a powerful moster, usually has a special animation), and climax theme (your opponent or you are near death). When you enter a duel the OST is selected by your opponents set field (and unfortunately they typically have the base starting field so you dont get new flavors a lot). Also I wont lie I love the OST but turned it off after awhile and I don't actually recall the final track and it might be a newer theme they added after i turned off music lol.

Yugioh is quite fun, but it has grown rather... overcomplicated. Trying to get into it now is pretty overwhelming if you're not ready for the plunge. It's definitely not for everyone.
Master Duel notably also has a counterpart called "Duel Links", which basically presents a simplified format that caters more to anime/manga fans and casuals, with a smaller field, quicker games and "skills" as a neat gimmick based on the various characters from the Yugioh series. It's arguably more accessible than Master Duel in terms of learning the game, but that's not exactly a high bar to clear. 😅 On that note, Duel Links also has a richly diverse OST, with each of the 100+ characters having an associated dueling theme, and most of them unique at that. I think it goes rather underappreciated, myself.

You should react to Boi What's Plan Z and Neon Tide. Basically if SpongeBob had metalcore.

Mate, you should react to YGO MD BGM - Climax Theme #2 and #12. These two BGM are better than Climax Theme #11 in my opinion. You are going to regret it. You should react to it.
