Now we are creating more pressures on local food productions- (using the fertile farm land) and we are pushing the Bigger Urban demands on Smaller Urban pockets. And trust me this a major reason for food shortage and high prices.

I just wanted to raise a point that since the government gives subsidies on metros and orange trains why the government is not using the potential of these buses and trains to earn money from advertisements. We have seen that many countries generates revenue from the government owned buses, trains and their stations but in Pakistan we are not even talking about it. Kindly discuss and analyze this aspect in your podcast as well. Thanks
In India, more than demonetisation , GST has helped with formalisation plus simple mobile linked bank accounts. Perhaps demo experiment could have been done a few years after GST was bedded down !

But this is backed by upi.not sure this helped reduce black money or reduce money from the rich guys as they are always prepared! I also know for a fact pre demon.. the real-estate prices in india was super crazy n most of them was under reported for tax evasion.post demon.. there has been a significant drop in prices n interest in real estate

The economists merely tend to look upon the problems with an economic lens, but this shouldn't be the case so
to your point about obslence of the high denomination notes the workaround would then be to convert the cash into someother currency eg. euros or kuwaiti dinars or dollars and then move those around that would be a double whammy of dollar flight+ hawala hundi and hit the economy hard

The Conclusion of the podcast is that we need to produce more manufacturers rather than the investors. Because, manufacturing will boost the export. But, investments gonna tend to make more imports.

Leave aside the social impacts (which, undoubtedly and eventually, will have economic impacts), and scrutinize just the economic impact: even then, the notion that GDP will go up when women enter the workforce is simplistic and short-sighted. What will be the impact on the labor market and wages when there is a sudden increase in the labor supply? What is the long-term impact on population replacement levels of policies that seek to increase female participation in the workforce? We have numerous examples of societies that have tested out these policies. With the vast data available, we have the luxury of parsing generational cycles, not just cycles that panned a few decades. Societies before us did not have this luxury.
We need female workforce for betterment of economy. The main raising of Pakistan having economic crises is Pakistan's misogynist society and so called men who stop women to work.
Even structural reforms will not solve Pk. issues until and unless the day light robbery of funds is not plugged. Punishment is the best deterrent and as we all know, that's a very good joke as long as professional politicians are at the helm of affairs. Either Presidential systemmof governance or Martial Law.
