New awareness is being brought to a centuries-old pathway, the Camino Real de los Tejas. Meet a man on a mission to highlight its history, and the places and cultures it connects, as we trace a National Historic Trail through Texas.
Great job Texas Parks and Wildlife. You are so important for our state. Keep up your great work of conserving our precious resources. Public, look past all the lights and concrete and support your beautiful state partner, Texas Parks and Wildlife.

Very well done Texas Parks and Wildlife. Lots to learn about our history and this video very informative. I have been to many points along the trail and this video helps connect some of the history of these place. Keep up the great work.
Excellent presentation. It would neat if in the future one could walk the trail, where possible from Laredo to far East Texas. I live in New Braunfels and our first residence was on the trail. At that time I did not know that history was only a few feet away. Thanks, TP&W.
As a native Texan in my seventies I've always heard of the Camino Real. But until recently I didn't pay it much mind, imagining it as a much smaller, less significant "road" than it is. And I always thought of it as a single trail, not the vast interconnecting network it was. And is. Thanks to TPWD and all those who aid them, the landowners, government officials, private historical organizations and all else who have and continue to contribute so much. In my twilight years I'm beginning to realize history is the best teacher, bar none. What we learn, or fail to learn from history dictates where we are, and where we'll end up.
I'd be happy to help clear the trail if the opportunity existed. A man is trying to establish a loop trail around these United States but IINM it doesn't necessarily include the El Camino but it seems it should. I didn't get the impression he'd be successful, alone, so would be great to see the trail/s in Tejas be incorporated into 'his trail'.

Nacogdoches is not one of the oldest communities in Texas it is the Oldest Town in Texas.

Sadly Acadian Mounds was greatly damaged by 2018 tornadoes.
The road is haunted
The confusion is that a Spaniard is Mexican, that's not true, though they speak a butchered redition of the lauguage,a Spaniard is a European people.
One idea you should get out of space imaging to see if you can see the original Los Caminos Reales.
