Re: red gingham set : I actually think having the 2 different patterns of red gingham for top & trousers would be even cuter & cooler than matching perfectly!!! I say go for it!!!
You could always take the dress to a tailor, did that with some trousers of mine and I’m so happy i spent the extra money because it actually makes me wear them!!
@@duchessedeberne3909 100% ! And for small alterations like this, it’s never been as expensive as I thought it would be. I also feel like people don’t often know where to find a tailor. The easiest place to look is your local dry cleaners- they almost always have a tailor.
That denim skirt is probably designed to be worn low waisted and that’s why the zipper is so short. But if it fits you and the only issue is putting it on and taking it off, you could try putting it over your head instead. And when you go to the bathroom you can just lift it up instead of unzipping it 😉 Could be worth the try
Relating to the denim dress: You could sew the the straps of the denim dress to the measurement you want. Then, instead of cutting the excess fabric, you could just sew them down and back on the sides with a thread of the same colour of the dress threads, so the excess fabric lays flat. Idk if it made sense, but that way when you donate or resell the dress, you could just undo the stitches and it will go back to its original form. Also if you do it wrong you can just undo the stitches and do it again. 😄
That’s an awesome idea! And also instead of safety pins if you want to put some decorative cute pins, so it looks intentional and then you can unpin it anytime you want to sell or donate or give it to a friend. Either way is a low commitment way to alter the straps.!!
I think you did really well with your choices! There are so many variables when it comes to sizing and buying something online. Love the little denim dress. Hope you keep it!
Wouldn't it work for the jeans dress to just fold the straps over and then sew it on? It seems like that's what you did with the safety pins, right? No need to cut anything and it's reversible. Or you could do several pintucks for example three in the back and three in the front which could make for an interesting detail and would also look more intended than just folding the strap over. It's a really cute dress, I hope you find a way to make it work for you :)
I was wondering if you can do a video of thrifting for curvy girl brands because it’s so hard to know brands of anything because most fashion doesn’t incorporate different body shapes. They throw curvy women in with plus size which is also hard for people to find brands for. I know some people are apple shape, hourglass, pear, and so on. Can you recommend brands for everyone’s body shape like this and then add plus size women as well. I feel like it would really genuinely help people feel comfortable in clothes.
I like those gingham pants for the red top you just got, no they won't identically match but they will go, and i think they would look really cute together ❤
I am obsessed with that purple gingham dress! So cute. The red Mary Janes were an amazing find too. They remind of some shoes I found while decluttering my own closet ✨
Oh goodness I was trying to cut it down as much as possible so I appreciate it!!! I love a good long video but am always scared nobody will watch them 😭
Try putting the long denim skirt over your head instead! I do that when something is too small to go over my big hips. It’s an idea😊 hope it works because it’s so cute.
Do you wanna try the denim dress with a belt? Both a structured belt and a flowy belt could give it different vibes and possibly tighten it a little for you?
Most of clothes are from thrift stores so I love thrifting and I want to check out a good Will outlet and go to yard sales this summer !!❤ I need to get more stable pieces !!
the jeans dress is super flattering imho! It's perfect to layer under a bulkier piece, like a wide tshirt or even a sweater and thighs, to give that 90s look vibe!
Denim dresses are amazing! I say just take it to the tailor and have it done nicely, it can be a forever piece (or heirloom piece) I would keep it forever.
The denim vest and short sleeve white shirt you were wearing when showing the pieces at the end of the video ARE EVERYTHING. It fits you so perfectly! Love your style and your vides
I'm pretty sure StealTheSpotlight also has and styled that Princess Polly dress (in her shadow high video)! She put a petticoat under it to make the bottom really poofy. It's so pretty! If I didn't hate backless dresses I'd want one myself!
I like thred up and buy from them a lot. However, I have learned that buying the final sale items has sometimes left me with a garment that has been miss measured.
European shoes sizing has changed in the last 10 ish years. So. A us 10 uk 8 was always an eu 41 which now is sometimes a 42 and sometimes a 41. If you’re more like a 9 1/2 or uk 7.5 usually a 40/41 works. It’s all very brand specific. And sometimes style specific within a certain brand.
An idea for you when thrifting: If you find blouses or dresses that have a great collar but you don't love the rest of the garment (or it doesn't fit), just get it and cut off the collar and voila, a detachable collar to wear with any top.
In the 80s and early 90s, we had these little short zippers in things. If I’m not mistaken, it was to save on production costs. Super cute skirt though!
With the denim maxi skirt I think it may be the cut of the skirt. Those skirt are constructed to fit snug which is why they put the slit so high in the middle. Because without it you wouldn’t even be able to walk in it. You may need to try a size up.
Yay! a new video!!☀🌻Love shopping with you! That denim dress is so beautiful! ❤You could even wear it in autumn, perhaps with a peter pan collar top and black tights. Did you try wearing it with a belt? Maybe that way it will fit your silhouette better
Love the items you got! 😊 it’s always disappointing when something you bought online doesn’t work out, but everything else was a win! 👍 You should consider sewing your own removable collar! They’re so easy to make, and they don’t require much fabric! I know Tilly and the Buttons has a free collar pattern, and I’m sure other pattern makers do as well by now, but they’re also inexpensive to purchase as a pdf, and they’re easy to print at home because they don’t need much more than one or two sheets of paper. 😊
‼️Just a reminder for all the lovely people thinking about buying crochet pieces‼️ The technique of crochet is not possible to do on a machine like knitting is. So any piece you are getting is hand crocheted. So please think about that when purchasing a crocheted item!
You could just pull the maxi skirt up if you have to go to the bathroom. And sometimes it is better to get a skirt on by pulling it over your head and then pulling it down
Yes too church girl! Anytime I see someone in a long demin skirt I immediately assume they are mormon or amish haha. Sorry! love everything else though :)
Please take the items you’re scared to thrift flip to a Seemstress or a Taylor. They are easy fixes! Clothes should be made to fit you, not you fit the clothes!😁😁❤️
I came across a ton of Brandy Mellville baby tees at my thrift- all marked at $3.99 and I didn't buy ANY of them because they were lighter colors and I sweat like a mofo 😓
You need to find a tailor. Either that or learn to sew. Heck, I'll send you a sewing machine that's perfect for a beginner.. That denim dress doesn't fit because you are small busted, clothes are usually made for a B/C cup so you need a small bust adjustment. It's a nice look on you and you should get it fitted to you. Never, ever buy thrifted Forever 21. I swear their name means it lasts 21 days. I've been thrifting/selling for over 26 years and that stuff on the racks is just awful. Woven gingham comes in different size "squares" starting at 1/8" to 2"+. Common finds for clothing is usually 1/2"-1". You can tell it's woven if it looks the same on both sides. I like to make my own fabric yardage by sewing different colors/sizes together! It's not a heavy fabric at all. Then there's printed gingham... like those pants. Prints can be good with nice pattern matching on the seams but it can also be tragic. Printed crooked, no matching, uneven printing, etc. Stick with much better brands and you will be happier in the long run. Btw, I'm 6'2" tall and wear a size 11 shoe. In some brands that's a 41, some a 42, and recently found a brand that an 11 was a 43. It's crazy! Have you shopped Zulily? I buy shoes from them often. They get Docs, Fly London, Bed Stu, and other $$$ brands along with Dansko, Clark's, Skechers, Ryka, Yellow Box, etc. You can save a ton. Right now Fly London is 70% off but larger sizes go first. Reasonable shipping too. They are having a Barefoot Dreams sale now... you'd love some of their tanks/tees/sweaters.
Alexa🌞: Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz vibes. ❤️ the Red Shoes! Super Score🎯 Also 🤍💜 gingham ❤🤍 pieces. 🤔The smaller red check could make a darling 🧺 picnic Print Clash or become ClownCore🤡. Sadly, know it would turn out to be the latter on me😖. So cute. Keep the denim dress. Rather than ✂️snipping the straps & re-sewing together, how about adding a big metal snap or chunky jeans button to create a jumper impression? 🧵 Seems like a lot of the jeans-to-skirt conversions turn out to be ⬇️ low waist. It might be the only way for me😔. Usually the ♀️ high waisted👖bottoms that fit my hips, leave the fabric seriously swimming around my waist anyway🤣. Have a couple of ♂️men's straight leg jeans that actually fit, but hit me on the hips. The crotch part is uncomfortable bcos I feel the need to ⬆️ yank on it. Thinking about turning 'em into maxi skirts to eliminate that issue. Wish me luck🍀. 💚Bridget from Cali☘️ (using my pal's YT acct)

Same. I though this so many times! Brought many too large or too long items to a tailor and cost me very little and got a nice quality piece
@@duchessedeberne3909 100% ! And for small alterations like this, it’s never been as expensive as I thought it would be. I also feel like people don’t often know where to find a tailor. The easiest place to look is your local dry cleaners- they almost always have a tailor.

ALEXA SUNSHINE 83 ITS ALWAYS SUNNY HERE *boop*!
You could always wear a white baby T under the denim dress to give it more of a loose overall dress vibe.

I'll second that suggestion :). I do that with mine and my mom's tops often, it's easy and usually works out well.
That’s an awesome idea! And also instead of safety pins if you want to put some decorative cute pins, so it looks intentional and then you can unpin it anytime you want to sell or donate or give it to a friend. Either way is a low commitment way to alter the straps.!!
The red gingham button up with the white tiered maxi skirt and those beautiful red shoes will be precious!!
I don't think there's anything wrong with "flattering" our eye naturally tries to find balance, it's part of art and creativity.
The purple Princess Polly dress is absolutely GORGEOUS!! I’ve been obsessed with dresses like this and I need to find my own to thrift!! 💖💖
I think you did really well with your choices! There are so many variables when it comes to sizing and buying something online. Love the little denim dress. Hope you keep it!

I have that checkered purple dress but in blue. It's so cute 😊
I recently thrifted a denim skirt and had trouble getting into them as well! I tried getting it on thru head first and it worked so much better
Oooh! Okay I may try that!!
Nothing wrong with "church girl" 😂
Seriously, paired with a crop top, fitted baby-t or a fitted sheer top 💕
That’s what I was gonna say, especially if one enjoys “grandma chic”, it kinda comes with the territory… 😂

oh my god that purple gingham dress with the lime green cowboy boots is the outfit of my dreams!!!!
Omg that denim dress, stunning !!! Maybe go to a seamstress?
Try putting the long denim skirt over your head instead! I do that when something is too small to go over my big hips. It’s an idea😊 hope it works because it’s so cute.
If you could find it in the same red gingham as the top, it would be so cute to have matching capri pants or walking shorts.
the last dress is sooooo cute, I would tailor it!!!!!
watching this and so honored to see my account pop up...our depop addictions
also you in red gingham juts fits in my brain...it works....it's so cute on you!!!!

Perfect timing! I just finished my last final exam for this semester of college😭 thank you for putting a smile on my face today🥹
Ah thank you for watching!! ☺️❤️
you could try stretching the denim skirt by wearing it wet, I've done it before with jeans and it totally works!
The gingham dress with the metallic green boots! 🌿💜😍😍
The purple gingham dress is so beautiful
I think you should keep the denim dress as it is, a little loose! Then you can wear a white baby tee under it! It would be rly cute 🥰
Yay, it’s Wednesday with Alexa❣️🙂 Here we go!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Do you wanna try the denim dress with a belt? Both a structured belt and a flowy belt could give it different vibes and possibly tighten it a little for you?

the jeans dress is super flattering imho! It's perfect to layer under a bulkier piece, like a wide tshirt or even a sweater and thighs, to give that 90s look vibe!
Lol this is exactly how I use depop as well, just spiraling down a bunch of rabbit holes
Denim dresses are amazing! I say just take it to the tailor and have it done nicely, it can be a forever piece (or heirloom piece) I would keep it forever.
IDEA FOR THE DENIM DRESS! What if you just kept using small pins and used ribbon to tie bows to hide the pins??
The denim vest and short sleeve white shirt you were wearing when showing the pieces at the end of the video ARE EVERYTHING. It fits you so perfectly! Love your style and your vides
hope ur day was good 👍🏻🌷🫶🏻
Your hair looks especially great in this video! 😊
All of these piece are so cute!! Also, taking in the straps on that last dress would be so easy! You’ve got this
I'm pretty sure StealTheSpotlight also has and styled that Princess Polly dress (in her shadow high video)! She put a petticoat under it to make the bottom really poofy. It's so pretty! If I didn't hate backless dresses I'd want one myself!
omg how did I forgot that!!! in was unconsciously influenced by her 100%
You are my favorite ❤ your videos give me instant calm ❤

the last skirt is MY DREAM!!
My favorite CZcams thrifter on here! You’ve got such a style I can’t get over !
means so much 😭

this baby graphic tee looks amazing for my 23rd birthday outfit
I always get so excited when I see your videos pop up in my subscription feed :)
Wear a white cowboy boot with that denim dress. White and denim go really well together?
Yay! a new video!!☀🌻Love shopping with you! That denim dress is so beautiful! ❤You could even wear it in autumn, perhaps with a peter pan collar top and black tights. Did you try wearing it with a belt? Maybe that way it will fit your silhouette better
With the skirt, you could probably find a longer zipper and then take it to a tailor. That might help putting it on and taking it off.
Love videos like this❤
With the Jean dress you you could use bows to pin the straps back
Aaaaahhh! Perfect timing! ❤

you could totally just wear a cute lil belt with the denim dress and i think that would make it better!! :)
I have the same issue with the Jean skirt I bought from Mango. Thigh area is tight, waist a loose. But so pretty
I liked the Jean dress on you.

Can you just tie up the denim dress straps w some scrap denim? It would be a cut free flip!
❤️❤️❤️
Great video! :) May i know what brand the mary janes are? I couldn't see it in the depop listing TT
I would love to shop thred up on a daily basis , i purchase a lot of black items and the lighting is so so bad!!

Take the jean dress to a tailor it shouldnt be too much
are you pronouncing it [gee-nam]? I think it's [ging-um] as in rhymes with "ring 'em"
I can't say my G's in certain words ❤️
