Gaise Baba, you don't know the immense work you are doing with this podcast. The Nigerian church needs this at this moment and I believe God has chosen you as the voice to bring this mind shift at a time as this. God bless you brother - a keen lover of your music since the 2010s.
Ministry is not what you think you can do, it is what God called you to do
A much needed critique of church culture. Sometimes Christians mistake their stereotypes for God's mind. I really like the point about relating to God genuinely through our personalities. I'm as comfortable with 'let loose' worship as I am with a conservative style (grew up in the Catholic Church). People really need to make room for these bona fide differences. It's a similar thing with prayer.
We should have more of this...
This is so so amazing..
So amazing..
Please more of this with different singers, let's have a heart to heart conversation..
God bless you..
Onos pivoted, Proverbs left music and Gaise Baba decided to die there!
Great conversation. Details such as these needs to be talked about more. I totally agree with the 'Shift' you talked about. I would say it started about 2010, when terror became mainstream and shook the nation to its very core. Yes, the Body needed that move of the temple worshippers going mainstream. Do not also forget to factor in the role of technology in that Shift. Nosa touched on it for a very brief second. Many things that were practically impossible prior to 2010 became possible. The first iPad was released in 2010, ushering in new possibilities with the app store and so on and on. Elvis Presley became ubiquitous because his music career started almost the same time the transistor radio became widely popular. Every shift rides the wave of a trend.
"We are all in the Temple but for some of us, our place of function is outside the Temple" Thank you Lord for this podcast. We needed this.
Going a bit further back makes me think of cycles. I came into the Kingdom when urban was not existing in church. Came from listening to Kurtis blow and African Bambatta (if you know, you know).. to where the hottest thing you could get was Amy Grant. Integrity praise worship was considered hip. urban started showing up and we were glad we had alternatives. Dc talk, Broda Martins and co brought us the language of our soul. How thrilled we were with Bebe and Cece "I'll take you there". They all had to fight a mindset in church that felt they were "unspiritual" and no serious Christian should listen.
But they became accepted and normal. Here we go on the same cycle again. Truly what has been is what shall be.... Well done Gaise Baba and black flame. Nice conversation.
Thank you so much for sharing this. It takes it even further and expands the enlightenment 👍🏾
by the way, I got saved 1988 Agape celebration, CLF ife. Just for some perspective of dates.
@@FOWMNAIJA We hail sir 🙌🏾
@@FOWMNAIJA wow! Here's a transgenerational connect of Great Ife... From the 80s to the 2000s, I am 2010s (2022)... 😅
I didn't even know Bebe and Cece were gospel artists when I first knew them. I came across them through Whitney Houston. Cece is one gospel artists who shines the light of Christ in secular places with such grace!
Gaise Baba is a KCOB, wow 🥳
Floreat Sir!!!!!!
Thank you for all you do sir.
FLOREAT! ⚡️
I think there should be a documentary on the evolution of gospel music as it pertains to the move of God over the years
Great idea! Would be very instructive to the church.
Heard Gaise Baba on Honest bunch and I am here😅. His knowledge is 🙌🙌🙌
Sinach and the Christ embassy people changed everything. They turned worship leaders to superstars
I be Gen Z, but omo, I be old soul too small o... Twenty years of gospel music, me sef can enter the convo, from Jeremiah Gyang to Asu Ekiye to Sammie Okposo to
Sheyman and I produced the Molejo Lori Agolo for Bouqui. I played the keys on the song, Sheyman mixed and mastered it. The Australian Darlene Zschech brought the sound. Churches were doing Jazz, American Urban Gospel. Musicians in church wanted to do very technical American Gospel songs like Hezekaih Walker, Mavin Sapp, John P.Kee etc. Nathaniel Bassey introduced the sound, Dunsin joined. The sound is central on Worship...the trend picked it till now.
Nice to hear this Sir. Great to meet you!
@DavidNkennor Thank you Mr David. Its an opportunity to meet you. I was humbled to be ministered to at your Celebration Church ministration. God bless you richly.
Sheyman on the beatz..Baba you produced Mike Abdul's hit song, Morire. Tuale Sir

WOOOW! This episode was so satisfying. I remember around that 2008 time before Gaise became Gaisebaba and we were not tush. I am so grateful for this conversation to help understand what I (and many others) went through and to appreciate those in the garden/field who stayed faithful. Thanks for putting this together Black Flame team! Such a needed conversation!
Amazing guys over 60 years experience 💪🏻👍🔥🔥 I watched the entire episode welcome gaise👍
Been following up on this podcast even from the start. I've been playing at the forest for 12years now and I've had this convinctions but your analogy kind of brings it out in a more defined way.
Always on my mind and i go always pray for you ❣️

Wow you guys are the best,,keep up the good work..
This episode is mind blowing. More oil on your head MOG.
I love the perspectives and the historical exegesis.
God is the "I am that I am" hence, we can't box him to a particular form of expression.
The source remains the same , the channel and the branding may differ.
I love the literature in the Movie Song
This Podcast is an Instrument 9f Deliverance. God bless you Gaise Baba
Amennnn 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

60 years experience 🙌
Wow. Wow. Wow. This was highly expository!
Interesting conversation! Nice one guys! I believe God has called every believer. We are called to teach all nations and reconcile men back to God. We must identify our positions, deepen our devotion and develop our skills in other to be effective ambassadors of the kingdom.
Learnt a lot from this episode. Thanks you for insights
I found Always pray for you in 2018😂😂 I thought it was recent at the time, but 2009?! Gosh im gen z 🤣
I enjoyed listening to this. Thank you, Culture Architect. May the Lord strengthen your hands for this work.
Thank you so much !
49:52 my thoughts exactly 🥲🥲🥲
Deep conversation by Nosa
Thank you sirs
This is funny and insightful
This was so edifying. ❤️
This is wisdom
Frank Edwards was already doing well by 2009. You too dey bless me was already a hit then.
"You too dey bless me" was his first song though...
You too dey bless me is Urban
Love it
🔥
Walk in love
To say this blessed me is an understatement... It wasnt coincidence that i got here, it was definitely the Lord's doing.
The Holy Spirit has been educating me, but i have been struggling, this intro to the exposition is the Holy Spirit throwing more light helping my unbelief.. now i have clarity.
Bottomline, Gospel music is not a genre of music, we all as believers must remain yielded to Him how ever He wills that we be instrumental in propagating the Gospel.
God nor be anybody mate... no one can box God.
Thank you so much Guys... God bless.
So glad to hear it’s blessed you. All glory to God! You should also check out the preceding episode (2) - “Why Church Music is limited”

If you can say it you can sing it
I no know Jeremiah Gyang
You just might know the song he did with Asa - Comforter’s song
someones knocking at the door was way before 2011 though.
It was released in 2010. That’s not “way before 2011’, and we said 2010/2011.
@@GaiseBaba hmmm I'm sure I heard that song and watched the video before 2010 sha o
You're not sure... Nathaniel Bassey first song that went viral was "Is your name in the book of life"...
This song was released in 2008/2009, I was just in JSS1 at the time, I paid attention because "is your name in the book of life" was a different vibe from all the songs that used to air on Kingdom Africa then...
Someone's knocking at the door was 2010
Minister is between Pastor and brother 😂
