  • Are you looking a short gun for your pressure washer? I personally love using short wands because they give me more control and allow for better balance when using a foam cannon. And if you need a longer wand you can use an extension with a basic quick connection. With all the options out there, which pressure washer gun should you go with? In todays video I will test and compare 4 of the most well know short pressure washer guns. The MTM sgs28, Mckillans with swivel, OG Spec'd Mosmatic, and the all new Active Short pressure washer gun. I will look at overall design, internal components, features, weight, and how much pressure is need to activate the pressure washer. Comfort and quality make your pressure washing experience so much better so I hope this video will help you decide which pressure washer wand would be the best choice for you... ENJOY!

Thanks for reviewing the top 4 short guns.
I've had my eye on the new Active and really appreciate you doing the tare down. Note my MTM SGS 28 is all stainless steel, the triger assembly is cast stainless, not "zinc plated steel." The only non ss metal is the bronze cap nut to access the triger spring & needle valve...
I had a non swiveled McKillans I purchased 5 yrs ago. Good shortie until it started acting up, sputtering & spitting. Opended it up to find the inlet tube to be 3/4 clogged with rust. The inlet tube was chromed steel, not stainless steel as McKillan advertised at the time! I replaced the inlet tube with 304 stainless steel and added a $26 Mosmantic live swivel; gun swivels like butter under pressure, & no more rust clogging the needle valve. Passed the McKillans on to my brother who just purchased the Active 2.0.
The OG Spec is very nice, it's just not $200 nice with that better functionality. Think I'll wait on purchasing the new Active gun to see how it holds up, appears to be to many external moving triger parts for my liking.

Man, I appreciate this video!!! I purchased the McKillans one a while back but after watching tons of other videos and seeing everyone else using and recommending the MTM SGS28 as the "best" I felt I made a mistake. Unfortunately it is out of the return window... My pressure washer broke so I haven't been able to even use the McKillans but figured id come on youtube see if i could make myself feel better about my purchase and your video did it 😅😅😅. I will say the McKillans feels really big in my hand which i dont like very much and it does feel like it will take quite a bit of pressure to hold the trigger down. It is new though so ill have to wait until my new pressure washer arrives (AR Blue 630TSS) to test it out. I also ordered the McKillans quick connect set which im absolutely blown away by the quality!

Have been using guns with no trigger for at least 15 yrs. Might not seem safe to most people but you can use a 1/4 threaded ball valve at where you have the spray nozzle quick connect (I use an aluminum wand, then the spray tip at the end washing houses). You can adjust pressure down or up without heading back to the machine. After 26 yrs my hands need the relief and yours will too. Get rid of those heavy guns. Wish someone would design a super light gun with wand and no trigger with a ball valve. Have my own but would like one even lighter. Wouldn't mind trying a couple of those swivels though.

I have a mckillons wand i purchased less than 1 year ago. Looking inside the brass hose connection port today, i see that it has quite a bit of rust in there. So the internal portion must not be brass. My water is run thru a softener system & i blow the wand out after each use so i am pretty disappointed in the materials used. Im going to replace it now. Probably get the active. I dont have confidence in the mckillon material quality

Do you know if the Clean Garage Mosmatic gun and the OG Mosmatic gun are the same spec? MIght be worth looking at as the Clean Garage gun is 50 dollars cheaper. Great channel by the way, I love your stuff!

You really should include a budget option like the Yamatic. It's only around $35, swivels and comes with a few accessories.

QUESTION....I bought a used pressure washer today, it had everything but the spray handle because the owner cracked it and threw it away. I have a Simpson hot water spray handle, can I connect this to the hose and use it with the pressure washer or does it only work with hot water systems?

Is the SGS28 really nickel plated brass internals? I have wondered this myself just looking at it, but Matt from OG says he designed this gun with MTM and claims on his website and videos it is all SS internals except the brass cap. Would be very interesting if it wasn't as I have been saying it was in all my videos.

I'm no metallurgist, but that doesn't seem like stainless to me either. I'm ok with brass components but not if they're lying and saying it's stainless to charge more.

@@johnyortiz8774 I have always thought that. Very close to the pf22.2 manifold which is nickel plated brass. Unless it’s some type of protective coating. I saw several listing on google saying it is nickel plated even the Amazon listing says that.

sgs28 with "self-locked" quick connect would be perfect i just love that i can use the quick connect with only one hand. the best value short gun i think would be the "lutian G18" if you know where and how to buy it.
