The wood truck is giving you trouble because you started paying attention to the free truck . The old girl is jealous 😂
Clearly some people who have never lived miles from a parts store or had access to certain items, would not understand how sometimes you gotta make due with what you have on hand. Its not cutting corners, its doing enough to keep it running and being able to continue on your day. Ive used bailing wire to hold a muffler, bike cable for a throttle cable, duct tape for holding a fender on,etc, etc. Its just a way of life out in the sticks. Great channel guys and gals.
The best cars I've ever driven were all spare parts made to work.
Blah blah blah. Clearly not everyone lives out "in the sticks" which these fools do not really live in the sticks. Cutting corners is cutting corners no matter what you need to call it to make yourself feel better about your life's choices. They cut corners to get it done but its still cutting them fuckin corners. Stop trying to put lipstick on a pig and call it something it ain't. Paul just likes to act like he lives a hard life because he maybe feels guilty for having things handed to him. This family needs to go spend some time on one of the local reservations if they want to see real struggle and a hard life. Paul is just a recipient of stolen land that's been passed down from the original settlers that stole the land from the Original People of this land. Fab rats is just a brainwashed continuation of the evil cycle of man made religion and greed
Very true and applies to pretty much everything when you live far from town. 👍
If Duct tape and A HAMMER wont fix it it must be ELECTRICAL !!!!
Used bailing wire to hold on a pressured turbo outlet once the factory one blew off, lasted about 6 years before someone T-boned me and totaled my truck. TBH I forgot all about it until we went to empty my personal things from the truck at the wrecking yard and was checking everything out.
I like Paul’s philosophy. It might not be right but it’s right enough. 👌
don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good! :D
It’ll be fine, it’s gonna be fine!
Near enough is good enough guys. Who cares ... we do .. lol. Bushyboy Oz.
It will be ok!
Okay the Michael Jackson clip when Shawn was trying to get the wood truck started was good. That was good comedy right there. Lol
Watching the drive back. Reflection in back window is freeky looks like you are going backwards down the road😂
i was wondering if anyone else noticed !🐭🐁🐀🐭🐁🐀🐁🐀🐁🐀🐭🐁🐀
I'll tell ya hwat, this here channel is fantastic. Puts my mornings in a better mindset.
It makes me feel good also , I think I'm a mess then I watch Larry , curlie , & mo. !!!!!! Lol. Aka the 3 rats in the shop . I won't ever talk smack about grandma lolly , she kick my butt . Bahaha
@@davestevens4263 Ditto, lol.
@@davestevens4263😂
Stacking the hole saws to center the firewall hole is a great idea!
There is an arbor especially for that. I believe Bosch makes it
It is so nice to see Paul and the gang doing the same things today that my step-father was doing in the late 60's and early 70's. He had an old Dodge Power Wagon and would load it with firewood, and we'd have to stack cord wood for days. I remember the old handyman jack hanging from the side just the way Paul does his today. Back then we had the 5-gallon jerry cans with gas in some and water for the radiator in another. Big winch on the front. Fun times. I'm 67 now and it's good to see Fab Rats carrying on some of the stuff I did when I was a youngster.
I really like watching you Paul, Sean and Hunter work. Like watching my dad (REST IN PEACE) when I was kid. Thanks guys.
A good team, without modern "BS" just a bit of hassling each other in jest. Banter whilst working draws guys together.
I wish I knew your dad. ❤
Cutting, splitting, and stacking firewood has always been very therapeutic for me. We had a house in northern Michigan that was an old 5 bedroom farmhouse that was built in 1897 and we heated it with just wood heat. We had an old American wood burner that had dual blowers and would keep the house plenty warm. We would get firewood permits from the USDA forestry service to cut out of the national forest. You could cut 4 full chords for $20 and then go back for another permit.
Iron River, Mi permits for dead standing Elm, was almost like trying to split cable.
The time lapse of loading the wood was awesome because you could see the truck settling down a little at a time.
Always👍 Paul I hope everyone that follows this channel realize how hard you and the fabrats family work,it's a pleasure to watch.
23:23 love the smile on his face as trash is flying out the back ahahha. Not being a Karen just thought it was funny lol. Dude your videos keep me going during these weird times. God bless the family and you! Its nice to see that there are normal everyday Americans still here living a cool life.
neither one of them even noticed the trash flying out
The wood truck is probably my favorite rig you own. Idk why those old chevy are the coolest, but they just are
That Chevy is as old as I am. Great to see it still on the road doing work.
When I saw the intake on the wood truck at the start I was hooked!! LOL. An old square body without a gun rack in the rear window, well it hasn't lived a good life! It was everybody's first accessory! That and a saddle blanket seat cover!
Loving the rear window gun rack . All our pickups back in the day had gun racks . So Cool !!
That truck is a true work horse 🐎 good to see it getting upgraded.
Hi Michelle... I love how you don't let the POOPS get to you! Laugh, talk, cut up and be involved like you are! You're AWESOME and make the series fun! We love your "Name the Part" Paul... Keep the belly, you wear it well :)
You turned the wood truck into a beast.... Heavier springs, brakes etc.... along with having a standard trans.... thats the perfect match....
I drove an old 70’s square body in high school and absolutely loved that truck. It hauled wood, rock, friends, toys, and harvested animals. I cleaned the truck and brakes too well one day and about went through the windshield at the first stop leaving the shop 😅
Fun fact! After you crank the chuck tight, give the chuck a turn the right with your hand and it helps lock your drill bit tightly
It’s nice when a “simple” project actually is. How nice to have the right tools to knock out a project like that!
I don’t know why but when you said, “you had to plan out your stops” made me laugh.
PAUL* Alot of people arent aware when tightening the chuck on the drill bit. Supposed to go ahead and tighten it then back off one click. Its a locking mechanism. Give er a try
Oldie, but a goodie,
That's how it usually goes,
Easy to run,
Easy to fix.🎉❤
The ol' wood truck getting some love is a good thing especially the brakes!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cue next episode, Paul has 20 packages with square body dashes.
Square bodies are the best, but the 50's to 90 's that is my favorite ones, you guys please be safe an sound an blessed, thank you Jeff Judah in TN
During your crank up veiw of the inside of the motor on the driver side there was a glow near fire wall under the brake booster.
Yes there was😮
13:10
Looked like a bulb poking through.
And it wasn't a little glow, it was bright.
Weird, didn't notice till you said something..
Sean has come a long way as far as his on camera personality. And I'm glad he has. He was so timid in the beginning.
Good morning Fab Rats team and good job bringing the wood truck up to par with new master cylinder, and caliper. This truck is so much more capable after all the upgrades that have been done to her. Congrats guys!
Wood truck: Rear window rifle rack, I don't remember seeing one of those specifically since high school parking lot (1977 ish). Is the day there'd be a half a dozen rifles displayed in a back windows in the school parking lot. Most of the cars wern't even locked. Times are changing, not sure I like all of the changes. Love you all and the memories you trigger.
Lots of good ole trucks... each one with a specific purpose 🙂 great solution to cutting bigger hole Sean 🙂 speedometer is just a silly luxury... you can always use the tach to match speeds 🙂
That Rifle Rack takes me back to when I was a kid in Texas ! Nice video ! Thanks for sharing !
That ole truck sounded exactly how it looked....... perfect. 😁✌️
There is something about chopping wood, it’s so calming . The payoff is priceless. The wood truck sure can out in the work . Cheers 🇨🇦
Good morning crew!! Another beautiful day ahead😎
Hydro assist brakes are awesome. I installed hydro assist on my cherokee and now everything needs hydro assist.
I got this neat little tool for measuring pushrod length for switching master cylinders and things it makes it a little easier when mixing and matching saves a little time.
Hey Paul. After you close the drill chuck down onto the drill turn it back the other direction one small click and that will lock it so it doesn’t back off.
Trick of the day. All new cordless drills including Milwaukee after you tighten it give it a small turn back to lock it. Trust me I was surprised myself.
“It might not be right but it’s right enough.”
That needs to be a slogan on the back of a zip up black hoody.
I’ll take a 2XL as my commission. 😉😉
Your Content has been Great Recently. Thanks for including us.
I like the wood truck. When you get all the wood. It’s great what the land gives. Every year.
I'm not a Chevy guy. Never have been, never will be. But damn, there is just something about those old square bodies that just does it man. Love the old wood truck.
" Its over now " 😂😂😂 Hunter is hilarious 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Awesome video.
Good atmosphere of father & son.
Don't feel forced or scripted like a certain CZcams channel.
Wood Truck is fixed! Lots of misc. Done ✔️ 😊 Thanks for sharing! 😊
Great to see the old Wood Truck get some love. You guys have a great team and you are fun to watch. Thanks for sharing you adventures.
Pedal Pushing was my job as a kid when my dad bled the brakes... "Up"... "Down"... Up"... Down"...
Love the square body with the 4 speed.. I got a 1976 k20 with numbers matching drive line
Gonna see all of the R P M's .
Best statement ever 😂😂😂😂😂
I really appreciate it when you keep an old vehicles running, too many folks just run out and buy something newer for themselves. But the Fab Rats crew will know how to have transportation if the grid ever goes down!
23:53 .. LOVE this style of firewood splitter!! .. My Dad always called it the "Russian Screw" splitter!! :)
Hey Paul
On most keyless chuck drill. When you tighten them up and just back it off until it clicks it will lock the chuck. Why all them company's don't tell you that in the instructions is beyond me. Nice job on the old Square body. They are the best
This truck sounds so good. That idle is awesome.
He didn't tell you because it's funnier that way . Y'all are like a bunch of brothers having fun is the show . But always getting the job done
Shop
Grew up on a farm and never seen anybody split wood like that before. Seems a little faster than hydraulic splitters. 👍
death cone had one for a few years was kinda scary thinking if you every snagged your shirt or pants leg.😱
As soon as you said you'd be in you're underwear my wife Zona got so excited and about fell out of her chair,, and saying woo hoo! ,I kinda thought the wood splinter was cool , and why does it matter how you jack up the truck as long as it works and you're good with it,love the show.
Tell your editor the music selection was a nice upgrade.
Respect 🫡
Paul I am happy for you that your truck is back and working man. Your smile is always so big keep being a positive man on CZcams it is great to watch.
Paul. Raise the reservoir for the power steering. To add volume and so if it drains down, it won't spill out
You guys should build something really nice for Shawn, he's become a great addition to the channel, plus old boy needs something to be proud of vehicle wise. Seems like the kind of guy that never does anything for himself, always thinking of family first.
Cottonwood can have a bit of stank to her. In SW Missouri, they used Cottonwood to make strawberry baskets. The shaving mill had a distinctive smell to it.
Piss Elm smelled like piss, Cottonwood always reminded me of manure.
The worst part about Fabrats, is they don't put out a video every day lol. I look forward to my morning coffee with some shenanigans with fabrats lol
Same here
Loved the wood splitting scene. Very comical at that speed.
Did anybody else see the glow below.the brake booster when starting?
I wonder what that was, hope it doesn't cause a fire.
I stopped and rewatched that part. It was a light bulb turning on and then back off. Must be an accessory light or something.
I'm pretty sure he saw it. He looks in that direction as it turns on. He knows what it is.
I like how you can see the front view reflected off the rear window in the :26 min shot.
Moving that wood hurts our back just watching ya move it around! 🤘💪👍
On the road again, can't wait to get back on the road again!!!
Thanks Guys
Always nice to see the square body up and running good, and a bonus know you can stop
That old wood truck is a beast, that motor sounds sweet
Correct way to start a engine with a carburetor is, (if the automatic choke works), slowly push the gas peddle slowly all the way to the floor. Release it, that will set the automatic choke, then start the car, it should come to a fast idle, and then slow down after the engine warms up, no need to push the gas peddle at all.
Sean, that's what's friends are fore. 😂 Hunter, sorry.😉 Hilarious.😅😂 Great guys. Thank you for making my day bright and light.🤝😊
I forgot about the squealing blower fan in the square body that would never shut off. As soon as you turned on the key, I thought “Oh ya, I remember that sound.” Made me laugh!
Four tires and a new drive shaft. 80% of the vehicles monetary worth.😆 But as long as she hauls wood..... Priceless.
Probably enjoy the show more than any lately and you’re right about Cottonwood oh my god that stuff stinks. When we first start heating, which would add a necessity we were given a whole truckload of old Cottonwood. I should’ve left it right where it laid. It’s hard to believe that was 30 years ago for us.
Once again half-assed together is good enough! Just like my shop hahahha!
Firewood is a great thing .One piece of wood keeps you warm twice..Once when you cut it and again when you burn it.
You guys need to put more love into the old wood truck
As soon as Paul hinted about the wood I knew it had to be cottonwood. Those trees are the worst. Good luck drying them out.
I’ve used a hole saw like that in many applications. It works great for what you are trying to work with.
There needs to be a Fab Rat's reunion episode. Bring back Ben and Randle for shits and giggles. I'd like to see how Randle's Taxidermy is going.
cobbleFing an old work truck back together love it lol
the van storage bit was great!
The trick to drill chucks slipping on the bit is to crank it down tight then back a click, you feel it disengage the chuck and the bit stays in tight. Most all drill chucks have that feature
Where is The Jeepster? Michell is getting ready to cruise that little beast! Look at all the weight she has Lost! Good for You Michelle! Love the Vids!!!
Thank you for time lapsing the wood chippings
Thanks for making
finish that awning up and you can put a firewood rack right by the shop door, nice and dry.
Milwaukee has a feature with the chuck that they have had for many years tighten the drill bit in normal how you do it and then go the other way just a hair "to loosen" and it will click in and lock the drill bit in. If the drill bit still comes out of the chuck then yes your chuck needs to get replaced. Hope it helps it took me years of using a drill and having some young kid point that out to me.
That wood truck sounds just like my old 74 start up. Third up twenty pumps , it'll get it
A truck for every chore at fabrats.
Like the way you oil everything up!! That is the way I do it!!
Dad owned a square body, power steering , power brakes and that was all the power it had.
Have you tried starting it like you start an old HD?
Hold the throttle wide open and crank!
Loving the music by the way!
Thank you guys for doing what you do
When you get a drill bit that wants to grab because you're going in a pre-existing hole take a file and make flats on the cutting edge of the drill bit. It will still drill but not grab.
Right back at it with my favorite channel. Thanks for the great entertainment! You guys are simply the best.
That's huge chunks of wood, but your heater is off the charts.
The old square body has lumpy cam, suppose you need performance carting oak.
