    I knew Boehly in high school. Possibly one of the most competitive people you will ever meet in your life. The sheer torture he put himself through to be a champion wrestler was absurd. I have never doubted he sees winning as the engine that drives everything. The rumors that he would personally go down to give players the hairdryer treatment in the locker room didn’t shock me.
    But you are right: he isn’t the only guy, and (this is very important) NONE of them know football extremely well. The project with the Dodgers went smoother, but Boehly knows baseball extremely well. There was a naivety to how they approached a world they were absolute newcomers to, but they are learning lessons pretty quickly. It would be excellent to hear a uniform backing of the reality that winning is the only way to really grow the club the way they envision.

    • @arnoldsaunders6073
      @arnoldsaunders6073 Před měsícem

      However good he has been in his US activities, is of no importance in the Premier league. These new owners ripped the guts out of the club, down to getting rid of those who provided basic refreshments to players. The whole of the medical staff were released. These professionals had ensured our player squad received the best recovery plans, when injured, and recovering from injuries. This season our injury record is horrendous, and much worse, is the recovery plans, which have led to players being reinjured and then unavailable for months. The only redeeming fact is, this bunch of yahoo merchants who have control of our club, do not own the freehold of the land the club play on. The site at Stamford Bridge is owned by those of us who have shares in the Pitch Owners Club.

    • @douglasshedd6119
      @douglasshedd6119 Před měsícem

      The medical staff should be released; they were horrible, and made horrible decisions. What “guts of the club” are you referring to? There was almost no infrastructure at Chelsea. That wasn’t replaced, it had to be built from scratch.
      Chelsea, as they stand, even right after we won the CL, was never getting the Vini Jrs of the world AFTER they were already established. Heck, if Cole Palmer was already doing what he’s done for us, he probably doesn’t choose us either. Until we build the profile of the club, not just the cabinet, we will only get those players if we have them early. It is also the most viable strategy we have for contending with the financial caps; a more productive long term version of our old loan army. Non PL teams won’t get national governments to sell them land for 30m and buy it back for 500m every time they need cash like Madrid. I don’t know what the aversion of the British Chelsea fans is to talking about money as if it’s something dirty, but if you don’t have the underpinning of a financial strategy, you will never get to the club profile we want. Winning is important, but the long term strategy is as well. And there is one area baseball crosses over with football that Clearlake has done an excellent job in leveraging: contacts in Central and South America. The Dodhers practically own the talent pipelines in those areas, and we are getting preferential introductions and seats at the table for talents we would not have had a shot at beating certain teams to in the past.
      That’s just reality

    • @arnoldsaunders6073
      @arnoldsaunders6073 Před měsícem

      @@douglasshedd6119 What a load of bullshit! The Chelsea medical team were top class. Just review the treatment of injured players and their recovery record, it was very good. Maria was one of the shrewdest transfer operators in football. Peter Cech was a respected figure who joined the club in 2019 just before Covid, unfortunately he never really had a chance to show his ability as the Technical and Performance advisor, because he was shown the door. There were many other who could be mentioned, but a viceral hatred of the Russian owner meant they had to go. The Rules Based Order must apply where ever that lot goes. The one thing they do not understand is that unlike Man Utd, Liverpool, and Arsenal, our fans do not stay in numbers when things go wrong. Do not blame the previous owner for the current problems at the club, these are all generated by the new owners, and their irresponsible decisions, especially the over spend for some players.

    • @douglasshedd6119
      @douglasshedd6119 Před měsícem

      I have reviewed it, and frankly it has been average-trending-to-awful since Eva left. But I can follow with a specific gripe: the secondary injuries we are getting are the type common with poor treatment plans. Break you leg and are t rehabbed, prepared, and cleared correctly? You get compensory knee issues just where Fofana did. It had become downright predictable. Tendon and muscle attachment points popping left and right post “recovery”. OR you think the new owners decided they needed a new medical staff just … for giggles?

    I really understand how we as Chelsea fans can be put off by some of the bad decisions made under this ownership; however, I do not think they do not care about winning. No team in the world buys multiple players for over 100 million to not expect eventual success bc that makes absolutely no sense on a sporting and financial level. They clearly want to be successful financially and sportingly. The question that needs to be asked more is if their methods can actually lead us to success. We all hope and pray. This summer, they need to make smart additions to the squad that can elevate our level next season. Yes, more "experience" is needed, but that experience needs to be of a high caliber. For example, Disasi and Sanchez were some of the most experienced signings last summer but also a couple of the worst buys. They also need to not see every academy player as just pure profit and actually utilize talent when we've got it (basically just referring to Ian Maatsen and future bench role for Gallagher/Chalobah). Signing players like Disasi is where I lost the vision bc he does not have much upside to increase his level, but looking to sell Chalobah who is maybe even better and has way more upside to increase his level. They need to sort that out so we do not waste money on duds. They have shown that they can buy great talent and will pay over the odds to get said talent being Palmer and Caicedo. Joe Shields definitely needs to be the key scout that we listen to when buying players and Stewart and Winstanely need to listen to him and not let their ego get in the way.

    Chelsea FC is a business. The club needs to win football matches to be successful and subsequently a financial success.
    Major trophy wins mean big money and that means success in business.
    Fans of Chelsea are not interested in 'The Blues' not winning football matches. Winning is everything. Everybody is happy to play badly, but win. Nothing else matters.

    experience wont work if we have a wack manager, I don't think experience itself solves the entire problem , within recent weeks all pochettinho had to do was change the tactics and build up and look at what happened, it was always the manager and his way of thinking the same way with teuchel , if teuchel doesn't change his tactics and his mindset he will end up like Mourinho , pochettinho needs to grow as a manager and if he doesn't there is no matter of experience that will solve the problem, remember he had neymar messi and mbappe at psg and he still bottled it, poch doesn't need experience he needs to learn new methods new build up play and new tactics immediately he needs to learn change things up and trust the youngsters he needs to trust like andrey santos cassadei and angelo gabriel , he needs to trust them
