I caught a 6 pound bass from the kayak earlier and I thought that thing put up a fight 😂😂 I can't imagine hooking up with a fish damn near the size of the kayak itself

I've experienced 3 times where the fish was bigger than the kayak.. all in salt and all were sharks. let me tell ya, the kayak moves like your paddling and the drag RUNS

Luckily, at least in my area, the gar don’t really go after bass lures, from what I’ve heard you kinda have to use live bait to catch them. They’re scary when they jump/ surface, I’ve seen plenty of of 4-5 foot gar paddling the trinity lol.

That's one little reason why I don't swim in any water that's not clear enough to see the bottom. I'll stick to pools lol. Been water tubing having fun and wipe out. No harm done but freak out when something starts nibbling at my feet. Freaks me out even feeling seaweed or other equatic plants tickling my feet lol.
Gar won't attack you though, there hasn't ever really been a reported Gar attack ever. They get big and they look aggressive but they generally have no interest in you

So I go fishing for fun I’m at my grandmas she has a lake. I see a massive 2 foot fish in the water I tell my cousin which is not that far away and when he is halfway to me it swims away. I should have just tried to catch the fish

I live near Cape Coral, Florida. I fish some of our fresh water spots and I see alligator bars often but dude I’ve never seen one THAT big. That’s insane, nice catch bro 😎
