Being a pastors kid is hard… (I am the product of one; two generations. My father and my grandfather.) BUT, my dad struggled quite a bit with depression and anxiety and being a bit “wimpy”… How I would’ve longed for a father like Pastor Mark!!! (Obviously, I’d have to talk to his sons. Lol 😆 kidding) I’m sure they’ve had their ups and downs, but I’m quite certain that they love and revere their father!
Pastor Mark is a special man! And I’m so thankful, even though we don’t know each other to have him in my life via technology!!!
Hopefully one day I will get to Arizona (I’m not too far; San Diego, CA) to visit his church! I’d just love the opportunity to shake his hand and tell him how much he’s touched my life! 🙌🏼😀💛

Looking for the video where there we see Mark's repentance for his own wrongs. Where can I find that? I've seen videos of him being the victim of the sins of others a few times but I'm curious about the one's where he's not the Joseph hero of the story.

Pastor Driscoll, people who see and know the Holy Spirit know what's right and wrong. You impress me as a man searching for and delivering the truth. I'm glad you got through it. I've had the same issue as Joseph did, in my family. When someone means well and messes up and when someone intentionally tries to harm I can tell. You're still here praise God. If I see someone lodge criticism at you, I've got your back ( in a good way). I've been really blessed by your sermons and really your honesty. I am a very frank person. I often have to temper that by reframing what I'm about to say. But when it comes to the word of God, it HAS TO BE SAID. The truth has all but disappeared in kany churches. I appreciate your frankness and sticking to the truth. God expects us to go through these things. Be blessed. I wish I was near your church. I'm looking 😢😢.

Careful about giving this man praise, its a trap and a snare for his feet. He believes he praises The Lord better through old rock and roll, stuff like guns n roses/judas priest/metallica etc..because praise and worship music is BORING...
Mark certainly has a pile of muppets following him, ready to fight to the death and cover up his sins...
WE are supposed to correct each other, he likes to say instead of coming to him about anything, that pple just gossip about him. I tried to come to him about the music message, but i got nothing, then he comes out with these sermons about being this giant "forgiver", referring to himself like he is such a martyr for Christ, and a victim always. In this case, he is wrong. Who are we singing for anyway? Ourselves? Or Jesus? Maybe he ought to ask Jesus if He prefers judas priest, or praise music??? I dont think Jesus has alot of warm fuzzy feelings towards judas myself, and yes that is who this band is glorifying.

    If I remember correctly,
Joseph's older brothers planned to sell him into slavery, but Joseph was discovered by another group of people who pulled him out of the hole and took him prisoner and sold him into slavery.
The older brothers didn't actually follow through with their plan. They did, however, tell their father that Josph had been killed by a lion.

It looks like Pastor Mark Driscoll is doing quite well.
He said he had been attacked, used, abused, and sinned against.
While those kinds of things are never fun it looks like they did not come anywhere near destroying him or his family.
There are people who suffer all those things and the damage is irrepairable.
Why is there no justice for those people?

Mark is supposed to be Joseph in the story, who overcame temptation, was falsely accused, was victimized, was finally anointed, abandoned and brought to power. Gets to sit in the 'Jesus seat at the right hand of God'. The brothers are supposed to be Mark's lapsed elders and all of the congregants who have grievances against Mark (Joseph). Then Joseph (Mark) forgives and blesses them. He was 'worshipped like a God' and God used their evil for His good. The fact that Mark (Joseph) so 'deeply forgave' is why he is so 'deeply anointed'. And all of this is projected onto the men in the room, they need to contend with their 'bitterness and unforgiveness'. Half of the story seems always to be missing, where Mark (not Joseph) contends with his own self in deeply hurting those who trusted and worked for him, those who have told him how they were spiritually abused by him and his pride. And seeking true forgiveness from each of those people. And having a humble, humble heart. And stopping the behavior and attitude that sowed destruction, even when others may have also been wrong at times. Mark thinks his work here is done, it's not done, and Mark is not Joseph, it's not about Mark, it's about others.

Yes, Joseph had a lot to be bitter about.
    Was he also disable?
Did he have any disability that would prevent him from actually being able to do things independently?
Most, if not all, of the disabled in Joseph's time were probably left to die and rarely made it into adulthood.
Why doesn't God have any disabled as great patriarchs in the Bible/
If God hates disabled then why does God curse some people with disability?
What kind of cruel God does something like that to people that have no choice in anything at all?

Interesting that Jesus often didn’t focus on somebody’s sin until He was dealing with the sin of hypocrisy like the Pharisees. (The woman at the well comes to mind) The point is that anyone who swings the word of truth around like a weapon may wanna take heed lest they fall from the pride found in hypocrisy and self righteousness. When we start to throw around phrases like “I would never” or “I would rather do this…because I’m not you”, you may wanna look at the log in your own eye and ignore the splinter in your brothers.

How many people get destroyed and never get to be in a really high position anywhere else?
If God is going to make bad things happen to us like he did with Joseph then he needs to put us into high positions like Joseph.
Instead, God spends most of his time rewarding the people who hurt us for their own evil purposes.

He likens that to how he (Mark Driscoll) has been criticized publicly and how he, like Joseph has forgiven his brothers for publicly criticizing him. He's making himself out to be a completely innocent party who is being persecuted, but is so Christlike, that he forgives them. What a joke.

The disabled are better than God if they somehow manage to forgive God and bless him even though he never cures the disabled in their life times.
God really needs to cure the disabled in their life times.
What's the point in making the disabled suffer their whole lives?

“He who corrects a scoffer gets dishonor for himself, And he who reproves a wicked man gets insults for himself. Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you, Reprove a wise man and he will love you. Give instruction to a wise man and he will be still wiser, Teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning.” (Proverbs 9:7-9, NAS95)
Evaluate Driscoll’s response biblically and you will see sheer arrogance and utter folly. Acts 29 has never recovered.

Note also the example of King David, man after God’s own heart, in 2 Samuel 16:5-14. He viewed even someone cursing him as being ordained by God to consider. Amazing humility. Don’t just walk, run from wolves like Mark Driscoll.

Joseph was falsely accused and convicted.
This kind of nonsense still happens today with all kinds of crimes and even in disputes between people or family members.
    Just what is God's problem?
God allows this to happen and never punishes the false accusers in their life times.
While the innocent person has to suffer with all of society against them.
That just isn't right! (of course there are many people actually guilty of what they are accused of, and some of them somehow actually get away with it?_ That's just not right!

This is bad theology that leads to work based seeking of God's blessings. You forgive others for one of two reasons, either:
A.-) Christ died for them at the Cross to rescue them from the same destiny you were headed to if it weren't for Him.
B.-) They are going to go to Hell and suffer the wrath of God.
This has nothing to do with you and your suffering.
Voddie Baucham does a much better job at explaining it than this nonsense.
If what Driscoll said were to be valid it is nothing but an insignificant foot note on the big picture.
I heard things, like he said it is well documented and public and I honestly don't care. I do have a problem with the goal post being moved from what really matters.
It's all about Him!!! Not us.

I've seen attacks on Jesus, and it is unfortunate that Jehovah is viewed as backwards, antiquated, vicious, and something that belongs to a past era of feudal kingdoms. The catch is Almighty God is the final authority, so despite (as an example) our feelings for prostitutes in the religion of pleasure, the LORD doesn't bless this. We are rewarded for our obedience to God, not our disobedience. Moreover, most things are not about morality, where they are about preferences, such as you have a water leak at home, and you need a plumber. The Holy Bible has no technical answers, so you get a plumber, unless you condemn them: Our ability to forgive enters the everyday life, because if we are against plumbers, then that will enter us and rule us like sin for anything with plumbing. Law works this way, there is only one King of kings and Lord of lords, and your little national laws are petty to the Most High God; how we answer these laws is important and rules our lives. This brings up the difference between demons and principalities, we can banish individual demons, but we cannot easily remove principalities (that is an area effect); we wrestle with the principalities for the spiritual wickedness in high places. God blesses his children, and I believe it is because the wicked world and its principalities have so many insurmountable problems (including the effects of sin upon our lives) that only the LORD knows what to do; we are told to struggle; we are to give evil no rest; we wear the full armor of God, in order to be ready for the day of trouble. I listen to the Holy Spirit when I can, and it only lets me talk about what I can understand; the Holy Spirit gives truth, and there is always more truth to know in this world of complexities. Forgiveness is part of Jesus, but it isn't everything, because even Jesus enters the battlefields of history: Choose wisely; I forgive all plumbers, from my example, for being plumbers; I cannot forgive The Devil and his sons as principalities, because God's justice is against them.
