This build takes a completely different approach from what I'm used to. Follow along as I go through struggle street to create the best performing 5" fpv freestyle drone, from motor selection, to designing a frame, finding a battery and electronics.

That it’s cause u came late to the party ... and u where looking nurk channel for shure
Great vid! Totally agree, love the weight of 5 inch freestyle.. a scaled down fs rig would be ideal 🤩..
Ha. Same thoughts...
@Barack Obama greatest president to ever live thank you for your service to our country sir.
@Del Halley if you've got something to say about him address the man himself... I mean he took the time to come comment in this youtube comments section, a real man of the people.
That had had my attention like a Netflix show. And you ended it on a cliff hanger 😱😱😱Now got to wait for the part 2. 😂😂😂
lol glad you enjoyed it
The future (like it or not) is sub250g and I've been saying that for quite a while already. Can't wait to see what you've come up with Tommy, as soon as I can afford to I'll buy into these motors, props and whatever frame you come up with. Sounds groundbreaking for all those who want to go sub250 without moving down to smaller frames. Great work man!
I am sure the FAA will be as effective in banning drones over 250g as California is effective at banning guns. Meaning not at all.
In Europe if its sub 250g but "has a sensor" it still needs to be registered... Ans you need a license.
I don't see why anyone thinks the 250g limit will hold. They want you out of the air, it's not like they care about the size or safety, they just want you out.
@@cinialvespow1054 What is "a sensor"? An accelerometer is a sensor. A gyro is a sensor. You guys need to push back. Remember... governments are not your master, they are your servant -- they work for YOU. Don't be bullied!
@@xjet well said. I don't see what can be done though. Saying the government is your servant may be beautiful but it doesn't feel like that's actually true.
I wonder if their classification of sensor / camera includes the fpv cam you use to see, as its not taking photos.
How are we meant to make it better
@@cinialvespow1054 Their defintion of "sensor" includes any camera, even if it's not recording and just "streaming" (FPV). Even if you had no cam but a microphone, you'd need registration. The exact wording is: "a sensor able to capture personal data".
Btw: You don't have to register the quad, but yourself as a pilot. You then get an ID and have to put that on any of your quads that require registration.
I don't know about anyone else... but I learned a lot here and can't wait for the next one. Thanks Tommy
🤙🤙🤙
Yes! More r and d videos please. Amazingly fascinating and entertaining
This is pure gold. The smiley face unit should officially be SI. Thanks Tommy for your work!
Love the story telling format. Really engaging and learnt a lot about the process. Can't wait for part 2!
Wow, don't care about the motors, it is the production value that got me. You are a talented individual sir
I'll take that! thank you
wth, this was THE BEST vid I have seen the last moths. In my country (The Netherlands) the EU laws are getting in place, they do make things easier but the 250 gram is really a turningpiont in what you are alowed to do and what not. I was really getting into fpv 2 years ago, spent a year on learing everything and for what to lookout for in fpv, bought 1 year ago the tinyhawk s, spent a year flighing that., its an awesome tinywhoop. Now I have made up my mind, I want to go into racing... So first, I need a spot to fly, very important! So I have 3 places where I could fly/race, but there is a chance that some people are going to hear and see it, so I need to keep the rules to play it safe and not risk fines. But back to the piont, max 250g is really a save weight to not get fined and still have all the fun that FPV quads bring. So I have been looking for parts to build a fpv racing quad for the last year, still getting more info on what to look out for. So I have a racing setup now, only need to buy the parts and looking for the right props... But now I think, I dont gonna spent 300 on a quad and have to buy 6 lipo's for getting the risk getting in trouble... So max 250 is I think now from now on my new focus piont to study on.... (still dont have a 5 inch quad) But I love to see more of these kind of vids to study on what parts to buy and to look out for... Also I might start looking for study vids on the combination of props and motors, I dont have seen much vids on that subject, but it is a very important factor on how your quad will fly in the end. Anyway, thanks for the info and the awesome vid!
This video style is actually EXCELLENT!

Totally liked the story, looking forward to the next chapter.
As a drone newb, I loved this video. It actually taught me a decent amount while not putting me to sleep.
Love the insight of the developmental aspect. Great video. Looking forward to the outcome. Thanks for the hard work.
thanks man.... (do you have a gtr350?)
this is great and cool to see your development path! Keep it up!
This format is so smart it shows the perceived value of what you’ve put into this, the thought process you’ve used and I like that you have brought us along for the ride this is the way to claim the innovations that you’re doing before they get cloned. I like what you’re doing and I like how you’re doing it.👍🚀
Thanks for taking notice. I've learned that I can't fight the "cloners", and that I'll never be able to compete with their "race to the bottom pricing". So I decided I'd just be open about my story/journey and if you're down, then great. I hope you'll support it in however way you find fit. It became easier for me to find my path when I realized that I do this for people like yourself, not the people waiting for the clone version. 🙏🤙
great video!!! would love to see more videos like this in the fpv world
Great video. I like how you tell the story and how difficult it is to build something new from the ground up.
Thanks Chris
