From the creator of the original demo video:
“The pen display is a simple 3D model controlled by a script I made for the demo. It captures mouse position and the tilting of my graphics tablet affects the object’s position (it's also very fun to use). I'm currently upgrading that to build a complete addon for easy user setup/ control. No release date for now, but should be here soon ;)”
This was from one year ago lol.
One idea for a grease pencil add-on is a professional level "annotation" toolset.
Something similar to SnagIt.
