Horologist Jimmy Sirimanotham began his career in 1982 repairing and restoring clocks for his now, many loyal Southern California and Inland Empire customers. At the young age of 13, Jimmy learned under the tutelage of his mechanically inclined grandfather Mr. Lee.
As an adult, Jimmy's passion turned into a thriving business where he now happily resides in Riverside, California.
Everyday, he is fortunate to meet many wonderful Riverside residents, and those who are travelling from the surrounding areas.
When an heirloom clock is dropped off for repair he is always enchanted by the history told by the family member who remembers growing up listening and watching their newly acquired timepiece.

I love clock shops and am lucky to have a very good one near where I live. Mt. Olympus Clock Shop in Salt Lake City. I have been a collector of clocks for many years. I have a Howard Miller grandfather clock, three regulators, an antique Seth Thomas mantel clock, and 6 cuckoo clocks, both modern and antique. I also have a large nutcracker collection. I'll stop by next time I am near Riverside.

Very interesting, thanks! I love the French double-dial gilt brass perpetual calendar clock I assume is in for repair! I also like the big Comtoise behind the counter with its huge pendulum. The antique cuckoo clock is interesting too.

Hi JimmyYou're welcome.The ultimate type of French perp cal I'd like of course is the type which has practically everything extra and a particular favourite feature is Equation of Time, but in a horseshoe shape. I've had one of those only, but the case was hideous and was a replacement, though had been a quality clock. It would have to be in gilt brass 4 glass. However, as you will appreciate, clocks - especially heavier ones - often don't travel well and a very heavy slate/marble rare one-dial perpetual calendar clock I won at R O Schmitt a number of years ago, arrived with me dreadfully damaged. It was eventually all sorted thankfully, but that one I had to sell on. Older style cuckoos I love as they are far better made and the cuckoo sound is better and even the birds on them are far better looking and carved. Nowadays they look pretty pathetic and the cuckoo sound is pretty hopeless on modern ones.The other difficulty is Customs Duty from USA to Scotland. Sometimes putting 'Gift' helps remove that cost, but the overall cost can be very expensive - unless of course, your President can do a deal with Britain to remove such charges. I reckon Mr Trump has a lot on his hands though right now.The variety in your shop is good. Oh! An 8-bell Sonora would be fabulous! I LOVE the sound they make when they chime the Whittington - totally different sound to rod gongs or even tubular bells.Best.Gaius

great hours. I am from Europe, the Czech Republic and I have a new, beautiful and very accurate German clock from the Hermle brand. Personally, I believe that Hermle is number one in Europe. Howard Miller is number one in the world, but rather and only in the number of hours sold. Even after the acquisition of Kienzle, it does not reach the quality of Hermle. If you are looking for a truly luxurious watch, this is Erwin Sattler from Munich in the Federal Republic of Germany. The Germans are the most precise mechanics in the world.

Loved having a tour. But how do you transport a grandfather clock to someone's home? And who sets it up once the clock gets there?
We are a full service company therefore, before a clients floor clock is set up in its
new location; we will perform any repairs needed (authorized by the customer) and complete the set-up when they are done. For a new purchase, the clock will be delivered by our supplier and set up by us if local or by a technician nearest to you if out of area. Thanks for the great question!

I was a little disappointed most of them were not working. You're missing an opportunity for a 'chime fest' at the top of each hour. Why are they all not working? Also, you're a little vague in mentioning Riverside. Riverside what?

We absolutely love a 'chime fest' however, we are continually demonstrating the chime and strike function for many models for the clients enjoyment and understanding how the timepiece works therefore; the time on many models will be different due to constantly showing these beauties off. Also, some of the clocks which are antique will not be working until purchased. This allows our clocksmith to ensure any timepiece currently in repair is top priority at all times.
