I love how they consistently nail the NPR atmosphere. It's like listening to an awkward conversation that's always trying to die, but never quite gets the chance to because everyone keeps trying to keep it alive even when they shouldn't.
😆Yes
The one with Betty White and the Muffins was the best one ever! Not enough innuendo in this one but Goodman does a great job as do the ladies!
I just saw that last week.
My favorite is the one with Alec Baldwin
Ana Gasteyer has to be one of the most underrated SNL cast members. She is hilarious in everything she did.
So neat. ❤️
She fully commits to everything!
Loved her Martha Stewart.
Nah

'Did you know the first gas grill was invented in 1934?'
'Yes' 😂😂😂
After listening to years of NPR, I can certainly say, yep.
Gmann Pro. I was thinking the same thing
I wish there was a show like this lol
Yes exactly lol 😂
You could also say those were good times
If you close your eyes, you will think it's really NPR.
Rusty Wilson and Pete Schweddy should get together and grill some Hot and Schweddy Balls of Fire.
Don't forget Margaret Jo's tall glass of soda water..
@@lanceboyett9034 Mmmm, Soda Water.....even better when cold
Have a Dusty Muffin with that.
😂😂😂😂😂👍
Anna Gasteyer is so damn funny in these sketches. I have no idea how Molly keeps from breaking.
Queen!!!
Ana is brilliant
I’m crying 🤣 this exactly how they talk on npr. Like why are the whispering?
I thought John’s booming voice couldn’t pull this off but of course his acting chops just perfected this again
What overweight southern man couldn't pull off a barbecue enthusiast?
@@johnsmith6217 they mean the quiet NPR voice.
"Shaved ice? I didn't know ice could grow a beard." Teehee😁
Mz. Phatbaldkat damn i swear i see you everywhere
Vaas G: IKR?? Heyyyyyyyyyy 🙋
Hi I’m here too
Jay Turner: Heyyyyyy hun🙋
It's eve n more hilarious to me when I realized this aired almost 25 years ago, and NPR still has this vibe, lol.
Lmfao
Someone complained at my work for me hearing this come up on my break time.
Ghe complainant Said it contained language of beavers.
0:20 I love the mismatch in timing when they try to say things at the same time!! Gets me every time!!
The guy with funny laughter almost killed the two 😂
1:17
I love listening to the audience, those cracking up obviously listen to NPR daily. Fun, Neat, Good times...
I wish they'd do a reunion of Ana and Molly for this!
They did one when Betty White hosted, but it would be nice to see this sketch again.
Given the quality of SNL today it wouldn't be as funny.
Who would think some of those lines like “summer is warm” would be so funny but I am laughing like crazy.
Lol Somebody said the original ASMR and now I’m at work and I can’t stop laughing!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I've met a lot of celebrities in my line of work and can easily say, Molly Shannon is the nicest I've ever met... very down to earth, sweet and sincere.
I listen to NPR too and this shit is spot on!
Anybody notice that Margaret Jo (wearing the vest) and Teri (in the white sweater) switch names with each other at (0:58)?
anyone notice they switch names throughout hahha
I caught that too?
I caught that too! Wonder if the cue card guy did that as a joke?
I think she called her Terry by mistake so they just went with it!
:56
I glad it wasn't just me.
Had a relative who worked at a public radio station, they showed their co-workers the Scweady balls & the dusty muffin skit & no one at the station got the jokes! They said it was the most public radio station moment possible.
*Schweddy
Crap! My pen ran out of ink! Hold on!!
This is absolutely equivalent to the level of dull excitement when you listen to NPR.
What adds insult to injury is the fact that we all pay for this with our tax dollars!
Yet it's regarded as actual brain food for some people, LOL.
I love NPR though!😁👍
@@JaneDoe-ci3gj I think I'd rather watch paint dry. Lol
@@desitterspace2127 Not really. If I read the financial statement correctly only about 1% of their revenue comes from federal sources.
I still love NPR but this is funny as hell 😂😂😂😂
Wait. What did he say after meat? I didn't get my pen.
szpinak222 bread
And sauce
Ready...bread..............and...sauce. There ya go! Hope that helped.
@@debbiethompson3460 You had your pen...
I didn't get my pen either, but I have a great memory.
Meat, bed, and sauerkraut.
Really gets my bronco bucking 😂
The low key awkward sexual(?) tension at the start.
🤣🤣🤣👍
IF YOU CAN READ THIS ANA GASTEYER AND MOLLY SHANNON PLEASE MAKE A DELICIOUS DISH PODCAST!
3:28 For a second I thought there was a bird loose in the audience.
2:23
Best background laugh ever
Now wait....
Meat, bread, AND sauce?
🤣🤣🤣👍
I'II get a Pen.
Terry Gross and Krista Tippett in conversation.
They are amazing! How much i would love an hour or two of Delicious Dish, without the laughs, to use as ASMR and happy sleep
Just turn on the actual NPR for that
NPR seriously does sound just like this.
Stop holding the Schweddy Weiner sketch hostage and release it to the glory of the internet
I wish they would bring this back and have Joe Pera as a guest. It would be the funniest thing ever.
Q: Did you know the first gas grill was invented in 1934? A: Yes, I did. Is it me or is this one of the great SNL sketches ever?
Wait they messed up Ana supposed to be Margaret and the other lady’s supposed to be Terry but at 0:56 she calls Margaret Terry!!!
I noticed that too 🤣
I SUPER noticed it!!!
Ana was thrown off for a second, but they just roll with it…extremely professional
Yep, couldn't pay attention to the rest of the skit, watching and waiting for more mistakes. Weird huh?
Ahh, good times!
AND. SAUCE
Timing was perfect.
I miss Ana Gasteyer SO much! SNL bring her back!
Do ya know what would make summer better? If it were colder outside and there was snow😁❄️
My stomach is starting to hurt, laughing sooo hard. Lets have a cook-in lolololol! Molly, Ana, John. thank you from Canada with love
The best NPR skit is with Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein
fucking classic. goodman always delivers.
John Goodman is one dude I'd love to sit down and have a beer with.
Meat...bread.. and I didn't catch that last part 🤔
Sauce
meat ,bread and sauce
Thank you so much!! I didn't have a pen around and missed the part
@@HighwayCourse 🤣🤣
And don't forget
SWEET TEA!

You are a LIFESAVER! 🖊 📓 🥩🍞🥫
Groundbreaking
Good times.
I'm just gonna sit here and finish my coffee...
Rusty Fireball Wilson is in the house
This series is soooooo hilarious... 😂🤣😂
I've always loved these skits. Also why does John Goodman sound like the A.I/GW from mgs2 when he talks in a low tone. Love this video
Fission Mailed!
Good times!
The REAL NPR is even funnier, although unintentionally.
SECOND and JOHN GOODMAN CAN THIS DAY GET ANY BETTER
my fave part about these sketches are the people losing their goddamn minds in the audience
....good times
2:33 *swallows a handful of valium*
"...I'm really fired up to be here."
0:51 Molly Shannon says "Terry," but that's her own character's name :)
Yeah they definitely switched names for one line each.
Good times; yeah, good times!
DOES JOHN GOODMAN AGE!!! he gained like 3 wrinkles in the past 21 years
rinkles? How did you get that past the spell checker?
I remember when this aired.
Holy fuck! They had Fireball on???
They should've done a skit of this for the 40th anniversary, maybe next time
This is painful, but accurate.
I never thought of this til now but who knew when we’d have these particular skits they’d foster in ASMR.
I want more
Guess this is the RE20 edition. Last one I saw was the MD421 and the one before that was SM7Bs. I guess it's a subtle thing.
Powerwashing actually works great for grill grates
Rusty should have put that in his book.
Is this suppose to be Terry Gross of "Fresh Air"?
Wire brush is worst thing you can use on your grill. Piece of steel from brush will do a job on your throat or intestines.
Good times
I miss this sketch so much.
they should screen callers cuz that guy was just out of line
DD, "Good times"
Next week 🐣
Nothing will ever beat "Schwetty Balls"
You should watch the Dusty Muffins sketch.
Wire brushes are terrible. The bristles come off and get stuck in your intestines
ae4xo
An SOS pad can do the same thing. Thinner wires than a wire brush, steel wool sheds wires during use.
So, *that's* what Robot Santa does in the summer months.
OMG, if they did ASRM......
im just playing this in the background for the asmr
Goodman trying not to lose it... gawd damn that's the best part
Reminds me of CBC radio (Canada).
I didn't think ice could grow a beard!
Can't find damn pen! I'm growling at my ass.
Meat, bread, and sauce.
Lol ASMR!!
*SNL PLEASE DO " What is love 2.0" with Jim Carrey, Chris Kattan and Will Ferrel*
IN the TOP GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LIKED LIKED LIKED LIKED LIKED
Hot dang. Molly Shannon was crazy cute in all these Delicious Dish sketches.
I love the banality of what they find funny
I love John Goodman. I'm vegetarian, I'm curious what he would say for that 😂🤔
im gonna use this as asmr
They exchanged each-other's name after 2 minutes. That's so stoopid ! But funny
Before sexual entendre became as integral to the delicious dish formula.
No one like John Goodman to explain BBQ to everyone
Wire brushes actually turn out to be bad LOL
No enuendo?
0:50 They switched names
Did you work at that public radio station? ; )
