A big part of the Kyojuro Vs Akaza fight is the impact when he continues to slash through Akaza's neck while impaled. That final attack was a large part of the impact. I think you should've put it in there. It was a testament to his will, to continue in an attempt to finish off Akaza even though he was fatally injured and dying, forcefully holding Akaza's arm in his stomach to prevent him from leaving. Although he still managed to run away, that final cry was what truly cemented his character.
