That is a lot cheaper than I thought. I figured about $10k completely shipped/installed. It definitely seems like one of those tools you groan about when you buy it, but after a few uses you wonder how you functioned without.
Yeah its been amazing, I love it so much!
Any possibility that if you change houses, you can take it with you? I mean, it unbolts from the deck, right?
Buy once, cry once.
I don't own a lift and I'm barely functioning without it.
Totally convinced on getting one. Now I just have to convince the Mrs.
Haha good luck man!
Alan Santana dont need her permission to spend your money . Man up. Its not a tv . Its so u can work on your car and save money
Alan Santana sometimes it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission
A good fucking is the usual strategy I use.
If you're good at fixing cars, and she has a car herself, you could offer to put her car on the lift to fix it when it needs fixing and save tons of money not taking it to the mechanic, win-win situation.
subscribed, i absolutely love how straight forward you are oh my god why can't you be the definition of youtube
i like how he answers the question in the first 2 min. keep up the good work, you have my like
One problem bolting to the garage floor if you live in a new house that utilizes post tension cables in the slab- you can't drill into the slab with very deep anchors without destroying your garage floor. Something to consider before installing. Nice lift. Jealous👍
Jason Blackwood that's why you pay for someone to do it so if they fuck it up ur gettin a new garage floor for free lmao
Rollo Larson that's why you do your research and the company your hiring and on the job they'll be doing.
We don't have those cables in Michigan so drill away
Learned something new, thanks: www.hgtv.com/videos/post-tensioning-slabs-0167581
You can they just make a loud noise when you hit them. That is why he used someone with insurance.
This was amazing to see
I stumbled upon your video and have been toying with the idea of getting a lift.
Thanks for posting.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Really great video, thanks for including the bit about the rolling-bridge jack. super helpful and solved the 2 vs. 4 post debate for me.
Good review. Lots of great info. I see folks getting the BendPack pretty often. We have three Direct Lift Pro Park8 lifts in our three car garage. The biggest car we have is a 996TT, but I've had a Cayenne and an M5 and they do fit. The Direct Lift is the one with the mechanical locks - so no air compressor. They are also 110V and were just over $3K installed. We had one hydraulic unit go out, but it was quickly replaced under warranty. You can do quite a bit of work on the lifts and I use them for all of our How Tos. So much safer than jack stands and such!
i was having a bad day but this really LIFT my spirits. XD
Putting a lift in my garage would cost me about $1500 total. The $40,000 I'd need to literally raise the roof however would be a tad out of my range....
Ryaneg6freak 40k seems too much
@@Chris-oz5md it would require permits, architecture, engineering, and a ton of labour to do something like that. That's what the money would go to.
who says you have to install it in your garage there's always the driveway
Let the lift lift the roof. Then after cutting around perimeter where the roof meets the wall, frame in the fill. A few grand at the most.
@@ralphvalkenhoff2887 lmaoooooo bruh.
Very concise, well thought out, and articulate! Excellent video :)
I installed a 4 post 9000lb model from Direct Lift 4 years ago. All in, all done, delivered, set up etc cost me right at $4000.
Hands down, best money I've ever spent on my home shop, with the exception of my machine tools which don't really count in this context. I would do it again tomorrow in a heart beat.
Nice! Me too man, I love having it!
I was searching for info on the Bent Pac Lift and happened on to your video. What made your video special is that we also have a STI, so i gave you a thumbs up 👍
Why I’m even watching this video
I don’t owned a house or have a garage!! :(
Future planning?
Looks like you need to buy one so you can put the lift in!!!
Maybe you could take one in the parking space 😉
Improvise.. he’s demo consumerism. Look outside the box and build a two study mini mansion.. there allll over these creative channels in the boob tube. Happy trails.
I'm in the same boat bud
Great job on the lift and the video, I'll be installing my own next month as soon as it gets here, already ordered it. I went with Bendpak as well. I went with the HD-9 standard.
thank you for posting this very informative video.
Thanks for watching man!
Great video man, you answered questions I wouldn't think to ask and you saved me hours of research. Liked and subbed 👍🏼
Glad I could help you out, thanks for watching man!
Good video , thanks for addressing many od the basic questions on it i have not been able to Get one yet but as a car lover and one who does enjoy working on them it has been always on my mind and hope to one day have one in my personal home garage
Thank you for the video! Helped my understanding of the pros and cons of 4 vs 2 post.
Got the same one in 220 volt, great lift, wife and I assembled it in two weekends with nothing more than a engine hoist, saved myself 1,000 bucks total cost was less than $4,000 well worth it, 65 Buick Skylark sits on top 72 Ford Maverick underneath for now with 10 foot ceiling. If you can swing it do it.
Great review of a lift inside the garage, you covered all angles!
Nicely done...I have two of them in my garage and you hit all of the points
Thanks man!
Great information, thank you for sharing all of the details.
Thanks great explanation. Really helped me make my decision.!
Nice Daytona Violet M3! My dad owns one, as well. Cool channel! I came across it while trying to figure out whether I want to sell my 4runner and test out team Subaru. Still can't decide. But I've subscribed! Keep up the solid content.
Thanks man! 4runners are great cars as well!
Great video with lots of information. I need one of those, I have 4 cars and a 3 car garage. Thank you Chuck! I would have my lift bolted, I live in California.
So advantageous.💯💯 . Be nice instead of bolting down, have blocks w a hollow center that it could go into for stability.
I started with an air single cylinder underground lift 30 years ago . Always bolt any lift down. I've seen them collapse. make sure you have stops on both ends when using a 4 post lift. I have seen cars roll off the ends. I always build my shops with 14 foot ceilings, but you can get by with shorter. Just make sure you put a safety trip that will stop the upward motion at the max height. I've got an airplane hanging from my ceiling also, but not where the hoists are. There is a pic of it on my channel.
Thanks for the garage vids and specs. Helps me choosing a home. Seems a little sketchy to use jacks and stands on that lift but eh I might do the same thing you did.
Great info mate. Cheers!
Excellent video my friend!!!! Iam convinced!!!
Alot of snap-on tool boxes cost more than that.
yeah man, snap-on is pricey stuff!
What a choice! Have a cool, super-useful lift in my garage or be bent over a fender a raped hard by the Snap-on guy? Hmmm ... choices, choices ...
Great Video Information! Thank You! 👍
LOVE THIS VIDEO AND LOVE YOUR VIDEOS ALL IN ALL!!
+Chris Johnson thank you Chris!
Great video Chuck as usual
I appreciate you watching man!
no problem man
Great video. You answered all my questions.
Thanks for the valuable info I'm all good for a lift except the height now I know what I need to work on.
Good review. I am thinking of this although it is a bit more than I need really. Not that that's ever stopped me before from said purchases!
Damn that's definitely cheaper than I would've expected for all the supporting items included. But the real question is how many times did you have to hit your head on that beam getting out of the STI?
+Chuck Jim I crushed my head like 3 times, and I mean reeaalllyyy hard. I've since learned to duck when getting out of the car!
Ya just watching the videos I could tell that that would be something I would do lol
Fucking love the honesty lol
JOEL LEE Same here!
Is there a way to attach some kind of effective cushion without interfering with its use?
I spent 10k building the garage. 12ft ceiling and 12" deep concrete where the lift posts sit. $500 Benwil lift. $250 to install the lift. The installers positioned the posts by hand, drilled, and mounted. Set the chain length for the arms to be even and installed the power to the motor.
What did they drill and mount the posts? did they also get it turned on or just install the power you left out so much.
Thanks for the info!
Awesome vid. Thanks for all the info
Thanks for watching man!
Good information. Thank you.
Great informative video. Keep it up.
nice info, thank you.
Helpful and informative
Great vid. Thanks for sharing.
You can not go wrong with this lift. Need to buy a house first! Looking at getting a quick jack. Nice video.
Thanks man!
Hey great video! very informative.
Thanks dude!
Holy fuck, in getting a car lift 😁
I thought it was like minimum $10k +
CK_32 only paid $2,500 for ours brand new
Thx for the video! Do u think you'd be able to fit 2 of these in your garage, side-by-side?
Most informative thank you, D
Terrific video mate!
Thank you 👍
My garage has 12' ceilings and stronger floors. I went with a 2 post lift, I need it for repair work. It was $4,500 installed.
Thanks for telling we where all concerned when you did not post a video about your imaginary lift.
Good info, thanks.
Great post!
Great project! Need similar lift!
Great video!
Thank you for watching!
WOW, this is a great idea, if i had that in my car port, i could have a guest spend some time and use it for their car to store it, very impressive, great video,,,, my hats off to you sir,,,,,take care,,,,
Nice review bro thanks
Great review
so awesome man. my garage isnt tall enough
Good good info ty much I'm taking notes
WOW! I was really expecting something like $7 to 9K
you have explained this so well thank you
Thanks for checking out the video 👍
HELL YEA IT'S WORTH IT FOR THE CAR LOVERS AND DO IT YOUR SELF INDIVIDUALS LIKE ME.
Great vid
Superb video. For peace of mind, I agree, screw it into the floor. Thank you for this.
Great video ......thank you for the information. I’m adding on a second garage to my house and would like to get a four post lift . 🇺🇸
No prob, thanks for checking out the video!
Wow. I expected it to be around 10K with shipping, and installation.
Great idea this is awesome I always wanted a lift in my garage or a pit but thought it was illegal
Check YOUR local code, some places have ridicules rules against anything.
Very cool! I thought it was going to be about 10k
I've seen that subi before somewhere cause tag. That's why I'm here 😂
Totally worth it
Good idea getting pros to do the garage. Garage springs always sketch me out big time.
+Zachary Garcia yeah man those things are wound super tight!
Zachary Garcia yessir. Cause they could potentially fuck your face off completely ,
I'm ready to order one up right now these things are great fortunately though I don't have a major credit card in fact I don't have a house or a garage! Even put it in. I'm going to have to think about this, I didn't realize I've got to buy a house and have a garage, to enjoy you're cool lift :-) thinking it, probably work on the beach just look for a nice solid place to erected in Baja, in the Arroyo, :-) and I don't need a manual that's for sure! Because I got a guy, named Manuel who can install it for me:-) the most important thing is that it can lift my spirits up. little humor never hurts during these troubling times! I don't even drink but I'm not going to let Corona V eliminate my future dreams oh, it would be so nice on the beach I could check out the federales cars, when they come by to visit to free rotation for the surfer girls sweet
Yeah for sure that’s how I roll too !! 🤧😏🥳
Genius! I can put my bass boat on it. Brilliant. 👍
Haha nice!
Smart and great for simple car work n storage good job
Good video. Fixing to build a shop to work on my retirement project, 56 Chevy. Plan on a 2 post lift. I don't get up and down so easy any more, so floor jacks and creepers are out of the question. :) Don't need overhead storage to stack cars. Wife is on board, she likes cars too. :) Good job.
We where all worried about that thanks
Hey Boss, any chance you remember who you used to install your lift & garage door service to raise your door frames? I ordered a bendpak 4 post lift yesterday.
Very cool!
I want a lift, but it won't fit in my single car garage. :(
+Alex Moran sorry man, single car is pretty tight!
Alex Moran you can get lifts on casters so you can wheel it out into your driveway
Alex Moran you wouldn't want one in a single car garage anyways u less if you like working in places with no room
Get the opposite, dig a whole in the floor. Just be careful when you back the car in lol.
Mine,too.
Cool....thanks mat....
Great video...
Paid $1746 shipped for my 2 post 9k lb lift by Launch. Installed it my self. Done! $650 for my high lift kit installed. Only did that so I can put a car underneath. Otherwise not neccessary. Best present I ever bought!!!
We all where worried about that thanks.
Good video thank you want to do a lift in my garage but need to take down sheet rock for the room
the sheet rock is probably for fire code so fire does not quickly spread, if you have a double layer you may want to ask someone that would know.
What I don't understand is, if you are a handy guy that can work on your own cars, Why did you pay someone else to do the install and bolting it to the ground? That was a lot of money that you could have saved. Bolting it to the ground is a super easy, 30 minute job for a DIYer.
Wait, five months, no anchor?! Woah dude. Very nice lift! Me like
Did you ever figure out if a cheaper bridge jack will work with the HD9?? The Bendpak unit is over 2x the price of the DirectLift but I read that the directlift unit will have issues working on the HD9...haven't been able to confirm that myself. Thanks the video's...very well done.
The short answer is I could never figure out if it'd work so I didn't want to spend $500 to find out. That being said I'll have a video out soon on the RJ-45 from bendpak!
very great vid
Thanks man!
Dud nice video money well spent 😎
great video!
Thanks again!
BendPak HDS-14X with two rolling bridge jacks and electric/pneumatic workstation is 10 grand. I just bought one.
Must be nice my garage has a 7 foot ceiling. Got to watch what I even put on ramps.
I live in the county where everyone has a pole barn garage. I need one of these
What county is that?
concrete requires 3,000psi. minimum. Standard driveways are 3,000-5,000 psi. so if it's in your house garage your solid.
you're*
pretentious
Max Dub you’re solid instead of your solid. Dunno where my mistake was. Can you enlighten me oh wise one?
Benjamin Franklin Likes cArS you said ......... “if you’ll be a trying”? What?. And you’re correcting someone who was correcting somebody else and couldn’t put the sentence together in the proper way ? Strange times we are living in !
Mateo Del Castillo lol for real, this man just failed at trying to correct someone
Very, VERY nice clip...
#GarageGoals I need this in my life dude! Love your garage. I need a house first thought with the garage before I can get the lift hahaha... Any tips on that? ;) haha!
Haha! Just keep at it, it'll all come!
NinjaxBart I'm in the same boat need to buy a house first, but dam it's awesome! Awesome video, I like these video with real life number👍🏼
I definitely want one!! Oh.... never mind I only have one car!!
