Glasgow's HIDDEN Skatepark

- Situated across the street from Loading Bay Skatepark in Glasgow, behind the brand new apartment buildings at the top of Harvey Street, lies a hidden skatepark that was built and accidentally stumbled upon by the extreme sports community of Glasgow. It would appear the new playground was built by the property developers behind the housing complex that has been constructed in the area. While their intentions were good, clearly to provide entertainment for families with children and teenagers, it has been met with a lot of complaints from home owners and tenants, who are not happy with the mess and anti social behaviour the skatepark has attracted. With its fate already in the balance, I decided to give the new skatepark a visit and the results were...mixed.

The flats behind you are from a housing association not for sale. The townhouses at the back are for sale.
Awesome skating! Hahaha so funny how some skateparks are designed. Maybe we must give an award for the worst skatepark and give that to the local government.
Nice to see some of the older guys still blading, I want to get back into it but I'm now 34 and 6'5'', 17 stone so falls are gonna hurt... lol

You seem to be using blading to mean aggressive blading, which leaves out a lot. The vast majority of bladers are rec skaters just wanting fun exercise. Aggressive blading is risky and flashy, but it's way overrepresented on social media. No harm in finding some nice used skates and just rolling around (tons of good used deals). And no one's going to make fun of you for wearing protection until you build up your confidence.
@@uu3903 bit of a random comment which doesn’t really have anything to do with what is being discussed. Yes, when we say blading we mean aggressive. No one is saying you can’t just put skates on and cruise around. This is just how I choose to use skates. To each their own.
@@wheelsceneblading My post was obviously written poorly as it wasn't directed at you or meant negatively in the last. Go back and look at all my overwhelmingly positive posts to your channel. My comment was directed at the OP of this chain to encourage someone who sounds like they used to skate but is apprehensive about doing so now. Does my post really read as so random and useless? Sad to feel hostility from a CZcamsr I really like. No grace or benefit of the doubt for a faceless subscriber?
a little bit of DIY by the community could work wonders here i think, turn it into a really sick spot
All the apartments look directly onto the skatepark. If residents saw people in there with shovels etc, that would just be another nail in the coffin.
I'd be more concerned about that big union bears graffiti in the background, personally.
