It's so insane how well Cejudo did, especially with a sprained ankle and taking all those low leg kicks. His team is so cringey, and his self-belief makes you think he's delusional and that he's in over his head. It throws you off-guard come fight night, because he's so damn tough and good. They don't sound like the super technically adept DJ & Matt Hume, but he has major talent and competitive spirit. Cejudo improved his clinch game so drastically after being dominated by DJ in the clinch in the first fight. His growth rate is insane, and his ability to kind of absorb new lessons and apply them effectively in the cage is so damn impressive. Strategically they were so much sharper than Moraes. They knew that the number one priority was to survive the first round, where Moraes hasn't been since he fought John Dodson in November 2017. Moraes threw the kitchen sink into every punch, and the ones that caught Cejudo didn't wobble him. I think from there Moraes felt shocked, and didn't know how to really adjust or improve with his strikes. Once Cejudo got him down, and took his back, Moraes was too defeated mentally to come back.

Kinda happy with how Dana gave Cejudo so much praise and was impressed with his performance. Dana's definitely being coy with the flyweights, because he knows it's such a powerful storyline for us to hold on to.

It's so insane how well Cejudo did, especially with a sprained ankle and taking all those low leg kicks. His team is so cringey, and his self-belief makes you think he's delusional and that he's in over his head. It throws you off-guard come fight night, because he's so damn tough and good. They don't sound like the super technically adept DJ & Matt Hume, but he has major talent and competitive spirit. Cejudo improved his clinch game so drastically after being dominated by DJ in the clinch in the first fight. His growth rate is insane, and his ability to kind of absorb new lessons and apply them effectively in the cage is so damn impressive.
Strategically they were so much sharper than Moraes. They knew that the number one priority was to survive the first round, where Moraes hasn't been since he fought John Dodson in November 2017. Moraes threw the kitchen sink into every punch, and the ones that caught Cejudo didn't wobble him. I think from there Moraes felt shocked, and didn't know how to really adjust or improve with his strikes. Once Cejudo got him down, and took his back, Moraes was too defeated mentally to come back.
