Thank you to everyone who came out to the premier! It was a lot of fun despite the technical problems. This is easily my favourite animatic that I’ve made so far and I’m really glad you all seem to enjoy it as well!

This is incredible!! What program do you use for the animated/moving scenes? I use firealpaca for art but there's no movement in it... You inspire me!

I draw all my frames in PaintTool SAI and then edit them together in PremierPro. For the movement, I render a frame so it has a transparent background and then use keyframes in Premier to move it across the screen. It’s called effect controls in premier but might be called something else depending on what editing program you use.

Love how the “life of my dreams” line-positive in the movie-is terrifying for George.
Because his dreams ended with him ending the world.
I love doing a rewatch and another thing I noticed aside from Tommy's coat being Wilbur's is that Dream is missing the finger that Quackity cut off from his time in the Prison. That is some amazing continuity and attention to detail Arisien. You have outdone yourself with the animatic and I'm excited for whatever you create next!

I love when it went “The man of my dreams” was Skeppy to Bad, and “He was betrothed to another” was Skeppy being taken over by the Egg. Awesome references!

And how each character is represented.
Sam,Bad, George and Tommy are all sad and looking down away from the strings as if they're too caught up in self pity to notice that they're playing into dreams hand.
Quackity is oblivious and is smirking he seems to think that dream is powerless compared to him and is too cocky to notice the string around his neck almost like how in the lore quackity is presenting himself as the cunning puppeteer despite how all he is, is dreams soon to be stress ball.
Sapnap seems to be angry which is fitting. He's trying to be active and hunt dream down but he's blinded by his emotions which dream can use against him.
And finnaly Eryn. In lore Eryn doesn't understand why people hate dream and is never told why just that he also should hate him which leads to him believing that Dream did nothing wrong. He wants above all to understand dream which is something no one else on the smp is willing to try. This understanding leads to him understanding just how much power dream holds over everyone in other words he sees the strings.

I wouldn't call Tommy's situation with dream self pity more fear of what dream could do now
And of course Tommy is the one with the most strings wrapped around him
I love your interpretation but I want to delve deeper into why some, particularly Sam, Tommy, Bad, and George, are so blind to Dream’s blatant power over them. I don’t watch all the streams, but I do try and keep up with the lore through animatics and such, so bear with me.
1. Sam is first on our list. I believe he blinded by his guilt and incompetence because he promised Tommy he would keep the one thing that terrified him, that broke him into pieces just to make him whole again for his own twisted amusement. We know that Sam would most likely know the most about what happened to Tommy, since he’s pretty much the only one who’s had contact with him after prison. He may feel inept because he was *THE Warden,* a fearsome guard-keeper who even Techno may have qualms about, and Dream escaped the prison whilst it was under his control.
2. Tommy is next. I keep up with his lore the most, so I should be close. Tommy is blinded by his overwhelming fear and paranoia towards Dream. While the strings used to be because of his attachments to the server, giving them power because he brought love to the Dream SMP, it’s now the sheer power that Dream holds. He knows what Dream can do, and he’s *terrified.* He’s too busy planning for the worst and devolving into a panicked state (Granted, this is his PTSD.) to realize that he’s still under his control, just like exile.
3. Now we have George. I’m going to be honest, I haven’t really kept up with George since there really isn’t much to keep up with. If I were to hazard a guess, he feels guilty about letting his friend become a monster and doing nothing about it. George is particularly lazy, but this time, his sloth has severe consequences. As someone who was arguably the closest to Dream, he blames himself for not seeing the signs sooner and just letting him be. This is further enforced by the free handouts and the appearances of Dream XD, which constantly reminds him of his former friend and how he always takes the easy way out.
4. Finally, we have Bad. I’m the most inexperienced with the whole Egg lore so don’t bash me too hard for it. I believe Bad is also blinded by his guilt for letting Skeppy be controlled by the Egg. However, I do think that the egg’s influence plays a part in this too. From what we’ve seen, the Egg is like a cult leader. It controls its people by promising to grant their greatest wish. Bad is so blinded by the Egg’s promise to make sure he and Skeppy will always stick together, his guilt for Skeppy’s condition in the first place, and the sheer bloodlust of the egg to see anything else, if he even cares.
In all, Eryn is the only one who hasn’t allowed his emotions to take control of him, thus allowing him to see the power Dream has over everyone.
@@XxStrawberryBobaTeaxX thanks for the reply and yeah I kinda shafted the boys in the back by grouping them together so I'll try to explain what I think is what's happening.
1st Sam. Sams expression seems to be more cross than anything with the crossed arms. Why this is revolves around a mini arc Sam had in the prison where dream manipulated him for control of the prison and then killed him.
I think Sam is racked with grief because he wants dream to be brought to justice and help tommy but he's also very scared of what dream will do to him if he snitches. So he's caught in this horrible middle ground.
2nd Tommy. Being honest I think you got it bang on yourself.
3rd Bad. Bads a complicated scenario he wanted dream to be locked up for what he did but he also wanted him to have better conditions than he had and became a guard to watch over him. Then he later discovered that Sam was lying to him and ant and letting quackity in to the prison to torture dream. Which lead to bad smuggling the blueprints that techno would eventually use to break dream out of the prison. On top of all of this bad is one of the cofounders of Dream Xds cult and Dream xd absolutely hates him and wants him to suffer and die.
And since dream has gotten out he's blown up bads house only to immediately give him totems of undying.
So with all that considered bad just breaking down on the floor like that is pretty apt.
4th George. Gogy's relationship with dream is very hard to pin down but to sumerise it.
Dream and Gogs were friends and Dream gave Googles the kingship after eret left to join pogtopia but Dream warned him to stay neutral because eret Lost his kinship because he didn't stay neutral.
Georg the procides to create new nations terrorise Lmanberg and overall fail to stay neutral sondream takes away his kingship Gog proceeds to wine about this feeling betrayed swearing to get his kingship back and sapnap tells him that dream said he didn't care about anything anymore thus ending the dream team.After dream breaks out of prison I can't think of any more substitutes for his name starts having nightmares where dream comes down to kill him.
So yeah him sulking crawled up in a ball is pretty accurate I'd say.
I'm sorry, but i love the fact is when at the scene Eryn saw all the green ropes around everyone everyone had one of two, but Tommy had like 4. It Shows who's been manipulated the most I guess
I like how Ranboo looks happy when he's obviously bleeding throughout the whole thing to symbolise how he's trying to hide what he's done/doing
I love this. I adore this. I always thought the reason this song hasn't exploded as animatic fodder is either cause someone is working on something really big, it's too much work, or the song is way too specific to apply to many fandoms. You somehow made it apply to DreamSMP perfectly.
I love how DreamXD is "It's like I can hear him". I love how George's one, that's kinda meant to to be a happier part in the original is actually sadder if you know the truth, is represented. Sapnap being the one that angrily telling everyone not to talk about him while being the one who's obviously bursting at the seams to discuss him? Chefs kiss. Well done!
George's part was my favorite part. In the movie it was a somewhat positive thing. But here it was Dream basically lying to George. Interesting spin on it.
This animatic only makes me hope that Eryn helps dream, like Mirabel helped Bruno. Becoming a vaulble asset to dream.

this is actually the first time i’ve seen a dsmp animatic centred around Eryn, which i’m super happy about! His character is definitely an interesting one when it comes to Dream for sure and you managed to show that! :]
I loved the pacing and storytelling (And also the song choice just makes so much sense) on this one, you really managed to capture Eryn’s apathetic view on Dream since his only real attachment is Tommy; and even then he doesn’t let that get in the way as much as some other emotionally indulged characters would.
Good job, this was wonderful to watch! :]
Im always blown away by ur content this was amazing.
All the little things like Sam missing his eye to how when he appears dream just sticks out with his design. And I know I'll be replaying this over and over to get all the details.
You've truly out done yourself.
Okay, there are so many things to love in this. First of all, the whole concept of Eryn being introduced to this "boogieman" of the SMP, and everyone telling him in no uncertain terms that he's bad news but Eryn doesn't listen until he's too far in. That's just... *Chef's kiss*.
Second, I love how you put George into the story. Because he doesn't do lore as often he's sometimes looked over or even looked down on, but this a really good interpretation of his arc, especially when he's talking about power and stuff, because I'm pretty sure he was king before Eret, and Dream dismissed him for no reason.
And speaking of that, ERET AS DOLORES?!? That was just a piece of genius. His entire section was phenomenal, absolutely my favorite part. And Bad singing about Skeppy succumbing to the Egg... What a stroke of brilliance.
I just... There's so much to love here. You did a fantastic job with this song and I can't wait to see what else you end up doing!
I know nothing about the Dream SMP. I've never watched a single episode of it. Yet I know about how Dream causes problems for everyone and it leads to a dispute between everyone and there's a bunch of factions and wars and it's crazy. I think you did a great job picking this song.

Edit: Back from the Premiere! And I’m lost for words- I cannot comprehend how amazing it was. Everyone personal experiences and angst tied into this popular song! I swear the only reason you haven’t gone viral is CZcams is scared of the absolute power you have. And other than the lag in the premier, we all lagged together. The roles are also so perfectly Chosen. George for Isabelle, Quackity for Camilo, An angsty couple for the movie couple, and Bad for Delores was just perfect! I also love how it’s all black and white but the green and red colors, and your OCs for the DSMP! Truly amazing! Everything was just perfect- It was just-

I really love that when ppl draw animatics on Encanto or Hamilton, the meaning of the lyrics suddently changes. For example some lyrics in this animatic mean something completely different in Encanto but also fit for this situation. Or in Linktoo's Obedient servant animatic, the thing they portrayed with Wil's and Q's relationship doesn't fit at all to what Alex and Burr's relationship is, but the song fits for both.
Wow, Arisien, this is an amazing animation, I watched it to the end and I am completely delighted! The frame of George looking at them with Dream in the past is GORGEOUS. Please make more animations like this, you are doing very well!
But later in the original movie, Bruno is written as misunderstood and Mirabel helps him. I’m hoping that Eryn, with a more clearer view of the situation, will help Dream and clear his original intentions of restoring peace to the server.

im not one to listen to the encanto songs willingly (and i'll avoid them when i can usually) but WOW IS THIS SO GOOD. the animation is so smooth, and the different meanings the lyrics give with the different characters gave me chills! you've earned yourself a sub with this magnificent piece of artwork ;)

JSJSJAJNA I HAD TO
After countless rewatches I wanted to just pointout all the details and symbolism and just things I liked in this masterpiece of a video.
But first off Im not as versed in some characters lore and I probably missed things so please do point out anything you notice I love reading the replys.
And secondly I wanted to ask if I'm just making big deals about small things or just reading way to much into things: short answer yes.
Long answer:
0:15 I love how when karl pops up sapnap immediately smiles at him that was adorable.
0:35 I know that the prison dream design is the one everyone talks about and for good reason but I would like to point out 2 things about the more normal dream design here.
First I love how you incorporated the arm eyes on his clothes to represent his normal skin.
And second the mask. You are going to think I'm crazy here but as someone who's favourite character is c! dream and has seen every animatic I could find I'm fully serious when I say that the mask here is genius.
In a lot of animatics they'll usually just make the mask emote or have dream remove the mask to show his emotions but here?
Perfectly lifeless you can't articulate a damn thing about what he is thinking which is what makes dream such a scary character you can never tell what he is going to do next and that is perfectly represented here.
0:52 I like how Karl is looking back at eryn worridly and is actually trying to warn him but sapnap I just looking forward while walking away angrily with a scowl because he's only using this to vent his frustration.
1:05 using the tnt to represent the falling sand was honestly brilliant.
1:15 and of course quackity is the one who's making dream out to be the boogeyman of the server to both cover up his misdeeds while also justifying them.
1:32 OK Im nearly half way in its time to actually talk about the bloody song.
The use of we don't talk about bruno both manages to make this animatic a catalogue of dreams misdoings and a call-out of how the entire server hides behind him to pretend they're good people and ignore they're own misdeeds it perfectly represents the dream smp.
Also I don't know quite how to phrase this but the match up from encanto to dream smp characters is perfect.
Mainly I want to talk about this trio.
Karl like felix mainly dispels talk about the local boogeyman for their loved ones and to not stress them out while still warning people about the dangers of that boogeyman.
Sapnap like pepa is both really stressed about talking about the boogeyman and is dying to talk about them. They both want desperately to vent out their feelings but both don't want to bring them up so they don't get hurt or cause a scene.
Quackity as Camilo probably the most accurate but not for why you may think.
In both encanto and dream smp these characters are the most adamant about villifying the "bad guy" while at the same time never really losing anything from them. In encanto Camilo is the only character who doesn't mention something bad bruno did to them but still villifys him the most in his verse and bringing it back up at the end of the movie asking "so we gonna talk about bruno?". Simarly quackity has never been attacked by dream in any direct way everything quackity lost was either due to his own fault or just lost in crossfire yet we see from his talks with both dream and slimecicle that he hates dream with a passion despite quackity not being better than him in anyway and not really being justified in hating him.
1:45 3 cool design details here ghostboo is still dropping blood Tommy has his white hair streak and wills coat and Sam has his scar from dream even missing his pupil
Also I like how they talk about dream warning them like say what you will about c! Dream but you can't say he doesn't warn people.
1:55 I like how Tommy looks at the other two almost to see if theyre on the same page as him since c! Tommy really only surrounds himself with whoever is against dream at that moment in time.
2:23 I like how the egg vine blocks the smile on skeppys hoodie like its silencing him.
2:34 it's cool to see you staying through to quackitys Canon height.
3:03 cool detail here while everyone one else in the sequence is at least near someone else if not grouped together Sam is on his own showing how isolated he has made himself.
3:13 I can see zero details or anything in this shot absolutely none not a single piece of symbolism at all. None
3:22 I know I gushed about dreams regular design but the beaten one is still so fucking good from the broken smirk to his bagged bruised eye and of course the all important missing finger continuity.
If the regular dream design perfectly showcased an emotionless enigma of a man this one perfectly showcases a beaten jadded man who appears to be cold and collected is secretly fucking pissed. And I love it.
3:37 I love the implications of this final endcard with eryn looking at the totem dream gave him now that he sees the strings and how dream is looking back at him it's so good.
I often make take backs or say opinions I'll later regret but I think I can definitely 100% say this is my favourite dream smp animatic and my favourite thing to ever come out of this fandom it's brilliant and inspired filled to the brim with small details and amazingly executed.

Some things I wanna point out and questions I wanna ask:
0:44-So is Sapnap a fire creature of sorts or does he just have fire powers?
1:01-1:05-Interesting that Eret says he associates him with the sound of falling sand or in this case TNT almost like he has PTSD from the L'Manburg war of independence
1:15-1:29-I like how you gave Quackity Camilo's part. Almost like he's intentionally trying to make Dream seem worst because then his torture of him would look a bit better
1:39-Ranboo I think here is telling Erin about how Dream left him to die during jailbreak
1:43-Tommy I think is talking about exile
1:48-Sam is obviously telling him about how Dream killed him in the prison
1:58-2:14-This one is interesting because in the movie Isabella's part is meant to be positive however here it is negative almost like George is saying "Dream gave me nothing but empty promises"
3:12-NOW THIS IS INTERESTING. So Sam has a string around his neck which to me symbolises how he wants dream dead same with Quackity. Tommy is covered in strings which obviously is meant to represent the amount of manipulation he went through at Dream's hands and Erin has strings on his hands which to me means that he at this point has absorbed all the negative opinions about Dream that he heard from others.
Also I just want to quickly add that one of Quackity's eyes are normal whereas the other is green like Dreams Which to me can mean two things.
1.The normal colour eye is meant to symbolise all the other things in his life aside from Dream while the green coloured eye is meant to symbolise how he has made finding and killing Dream one of the top priorities in his life.
OR
2.The normal coloured eye is meant to symbolise how he USED to be hopeful, cheerful, happy and wanting to help others whereas the green coloured eye is meant to symbolise how he is NOW cold, calculated, detached and willing to resort to torture to get what he wants in essence BECOMING Dream.
Everyone caught in his strings of hate that he controls.
I love how you used dream as Bruno because in the end of encanto Bruno is proved to never have been bad in the first place and if you watched the whole conspiracy theory that dream was never the villain and it was technically tommy it makes sense as to why dream is Bruno basically saying that he was never truly the bad guy

This is the best line that popped into my mind when I heard the falling sand line to replace because it’s dream smp- I’m confusing myself B)
