- LEGENDS OF THE OLD WEST presented by Black Barrel Media. Henry Plummer becomes the sheriff of Bannack, Montana, but many believe he also runs a gang of killers and thieves. Before long, powerful men organize and authorize crews of vigilantes who systematically hang their enemies. Henry Plummer, the sheriff of Bannack, is first on the hit list, and his story ends in mystery. Was he an upstanding sheriff or the leader of a gang of road agents, or both?

Good story telling. You're really questioning the traditional narrative on Plummer. Glad to see the other possibilities.
Douglas:I was going to add a comment, but read yours. I believe I’ll be on your bandwagon.

Love the casts, Chris
Greetings from England. Love the Old West podcasts and have been fascinated with the old west a long time. Would I have liked to live there back then? No!

Home from 3rd shift settle in with another vreat story...thnx cris
This is a story I know little about. Did the robberies stop after Plummer and his alleged gang were killed? Or did the highway robberies continue?
They stopped to a point but there were always other bad guys that still did those bad deeds but wasn't as much after they were killed
@@youaresomeone3413 Thanks man.
I think it sorta like the line from the magnificent 7 movie.. "I think we killed them all". Talk about cleaning house! Like the Salem witch trials!
Good stuff
Henry plummer photo up next to the definition of Murphy's law! But then, many an good person were maybe not forced, but given few alternatives to being gainfully employed once that target of questionable character was put on them.
N.P. Langford talks about henry plummer in his book "Vigilante days and ways". Langford was also the first superintendent of yellowstone and wrote books on it. I find it interesting considering i share the same last name as Langford. Makes me wonder if im some how related.
Must go to RIA and see Stuart Granville and his brother's Winchester's now.
Glad you are ok!!!!
The stories that came out during the 1860’s are so skewed that it is really hard to know the truth. Those were times when it was kill or be killed
🤠👍
Things haven't changed much up there.
That's a bit of a temper you got there Henry
Sounds like the vigilance committee is the real outlaw story!
I would not call a him a legend A killer not a legend
