"Try Harder" is the most German response to a novice's attempt to speak German. And even tho Kiara JUST said it when I think of a German saying "try harder" it always sounds like Werner Herzog is saying it lol

it sounds harsh but teaching someone german on a shake-y foundation means you learned nothing at all.
this is why learning german can be the dryest thing to a lot of people and the english are the only germanic people that have evolved so far away from their germanic grammar that they find great difficulty with it.
learning a language is only hard based on its distance from your mother language in structure!
a japanese man will find greater ease learning mandarin than any european, an englishman frowns when he flips open the german textbook, but a dutchman says "yeah that makes sense, i guess."
@@JHenryEden Japanese and Mandarin aren’t closely related languages at all. They’re in different language families and only share a script.
@@JHenryEden pretty sure an English dude would have an easier time to learn german than a Japanese person learning mandarin. English and German has some linguistic similarities, but Japanese and Mandarin? Not so much. Japanese just borrowed some characters a very long time ago that's all.
