I read An NVA senior leader said the kiwis & Aussies gave them many sleepless nights and called them"Grey ghosts" any country that decides it wants to have a go should learn from history and realize ANZAC spirit will never die.
I am very proud to say that my uncle fought at Kapyong. Prior to the battle he received partial hearing damage as he was the sentry guarding Lt Col Green's tent when the Chinese motor shell exploded wounding the Lt Col. He told me he had to fight hand to hand using his bayonet and kicks etc. Those guys endured human wave after wave assaults. He left a few of his mates behind that battle. He made it through the war and stayed in the army till he retired. He passed away in 94. I miss him still. RIP Uncle David King.

The battle can’t be remembered without acknowledging the similar beating the Canadians of the PPLI took and the supportive role of US arty.
Kiwi arty not US, the US had tanks that were in support but were not in direct communication with the Aussies and Canadians
