I feel like Jesus is massively underrated in our fanbase. Before his World Cup injury, he was the man of the match almost every game, and although he wasn't scoring in each, he was on pace for 20-25 goals. How much more do we want from a striker who also drops so deep to carry the ball out and has a massive physical presence despite his height? He also makes everyone around him better.
If it was me, I'd sign Toney, but Nketiah is the one we should be getting rid of. He has not shown any signs of improvement in the huge amount of trust he has been given.
And despite signing Toney, Jesus and him can both play together. Jesus could really use Toney's aerial presence and the Toney would really benefit from Jesus' hold up play and playmaking.
Remove his penalties and he is average.

All he did was gamble on a few games in his early days, not even when he was in the Prem. he deserves this move.

Disagree with this idea.
1. Toney may not be prolific, but he's a good finisher and a different option to the other two strikers - bigger and stronger and creative too.
2. Arsenal's creative players will come right, quality like Odegaard doesn't just die overnight. They're just getting used to paying in a slightly different system to last year with Rice getting up to speed.
We need Anelka 2.0 instead of just Henry.
Osimhen is the only answer to this question.

I'm an Arsenal fan mate and I don't see Osimhen deal happening. There's no way we will spend such huge sums of money for 2 players (rice and osimhen) in a single season. You're an Arsenal fan you should know this 🤦🏾♂️
Agreed, that service is a problem. But if the club is looking at toney its definitely not just to have a more clinical striker, its most likely also for tactical reasons. I mean low blocks are too effective against arsenal, and crosses are useless when you have nketiah or Jesus up front. So arteta and the transfer team might have seen toney as a player that could change that. And make opposition teams more hesitant to park 10 players directly in front of their own goal. It is a risk though for sure. 8 months is a long time
Even if. Nketiah was getting service he still isn’t good enough and Jesus has never been prolific. Arsenal need a striker who is clinical, particularly in tight games where margins are small.
@@TJTOPBOY Yeah, I agree on all of your points. I think some parts of the media that hadnt watched all of arsenals games overrated nketiah because he scored a few goals. He missed too many chances and didnt offer much in buildup.

I agree with this but Nketiah is not good enough for our ambitions. The problem though is that there is no world class striker available to replace him. Admittedly there are strikers making waves this season in other leagues but they are unproven. A dilemma

Brentford is so different from Arsenal in how they play. In Arsenal chance creation is predictable, it will be from crosses or passes from the usual sources. But in Brentford they dont play as elegantly as Arsenal, they get chances from set pieces, knock downs, charged clearances, opponent mistakes and all that. Look at Toney's goals, they are mostly him somehow being at the right place at right time with a rebound off the post, an uncleared corner and all that. Whereas he may not have such unanticipated service at Arsenal cos chance creation is less chaotic there
...and besides, at brentford, he was the target man, he won't be that at arsenal, considering martinelli and saka

I have been following EPL for more then 20 years and didn't see to many players that can score 20+ goals in a season. Those who scored 20 and above that bar, they were elite players. Am talking about Alan S., Titi, Ronaldo, Rooney, Rud VN, Viduka, Sanchez, Tevez, Suarez, R. Fowler, Lampard, Wright, A. Cole, Mat le Tissier etc...

Look at the number of time Saka and Martinelli beat their fullbacks and they find no one in the middle because Jesus drifted out wide or Nketiah is in midfield. Ignore those stats and actually watch the team playing.

100%. He isn't a tier 1 striker. At best Toney is mediocre, a mid table team striker. After the Kai Havertz bluder hopefully Arteta does not end up wasting 80m on this guy. Context matters- Toney plays for a worse team which creates far less than Arsenal.
They have far less possession in final 1/3 too.
Looking at his skillset and his level of performance, I think he would outscore Jesus while being a much better outlet.

I do agree that Jesus is quality but his profile makes him perfect to drop back into the Xhaka role and do a much better job than Havertz. His creativity, driving runs and defensive output make him perfect for that...
