To clarify, 72hrs is not the limit of tsukuyomi, that’s just what he did to Kakashi. He can extend that as long as he wishes depending on how much chakra he expends. This part is head canon, but I’m guessing he knew kakashi could handle 72hours, but he killed his gf by making her experience a lifetime

Obito on multiple occasions stated that he wanted "to escape this cursed reality". And he started to feel like this when Rin died, so thats why he can teleport himself to different dimension.

I've always thought Obito's Kamui represented his desire to run away from reality. He wanted to go through with Madara's plan because he thought reality was hell and he wanted to be happy with the people he loved again. Yours makes a lot of sense too!
There is no cannon reasons as to why someone not of the Uchiha with a Sharingan can open a ms.
I think Obito's kamui is better explained by his rejection of reality. Teleporting away to his own pocket dimension is symbolic of his feeling that reality isn't genuine. If I hated everything about how life turned out I would want to be able to abandon it too.

What if Sarada also manifested the Yata Mirror just like Itachi, since one of the main premises around her awakening is the protection of a loved one? I think it would be a great way to tie Itachi back into the fold

Itachi didn’t manifest the Yata Mirror or Totsuka. The fact Orochimaru was aware and actively looking for it means it was not manifest with Itachi. I think Itachi took those items and Nagato with him to the grave. An infinite attack potential sword combined with an impenetrable defense would be far too dangerous to leave out in the world. Such as Shisui eye, he didn’t want to leave that in the world and cause problems.

The fact that shin’s ms was created in a lab adds even more credence to this lore. Their MS ability is clinical and suits it’s origin quite well

Personally I would credit Obito with both of the MS eyes’ awakenings; while Zetsu fibbed about a lot of things, it makes no sense to me for a non-Uchiha to be able to awaken an MS from a borrowed eye, considering they can’t even turn off the base Sharingan. Obito’s eyes were already sharing images when he got close to Kakashi, indicating a continued link between him and both of his eyes even if one wasn’t in his head; so I would find it more believable that both eyes awakened to MS because of what Obito saw.
Not to mention that the version of Kamui that Kakashi uses and the version Obito uses, really just seem like two sides of the same coin and even share the same pocket dimension, despite being awoken by two different people with different values. Madara stealing Obito’s eye from Kakashi to activate Kamui indicates that the original owner of an MS dictates its abilities (unless their MS is taken to awaken someone else’s EMS); so this also makes me think that Kakashi’s Sharingan belonging to Obito dictated its MS ability, which likely comes from him being the source of its awakening.
We could actually expand this further, to say that the reason Kakashi got the version of Kamui he did, wasn’t because of his own perception of himself but because of Obito’s perception of him- someone who had just ripped away what was most precious to Obito. So the MS that Obito had in someone else’s head awakened based on his perception of that person.

I always viewed Obito's kamui as a reflection of his feeling of failing Kakashi and Rin. He was underground and trapped and felt like if he could have gotten there sooner he could have prevented it all, so his kamui allowed him to phase through reality so he can never be trapped or pinned down again, and would never be too late to save someone again. Kakashi is similar. His kamui reflects his inability to save his friends. If he could have kamui earlier, he could have gotten Obito out of under the boulder with it. He could have used Kamui on Rin to escape the ninja squad chasing her, and found Minato to help remove the tailed beast from her. Both reflect their failures to save the people they loved.

He always spoke about destiny & how your fate has already been chosen for you. As soon as Naruto was born he was chosen to have the 9 tails without a chose, certain people who were around him, being the child of prophecy & being a reincarnation of one of the strongest ninjas to exist

Minato getting his own manga made me realize we may be lucky enough to finally see fugakus ms abilities. I know it’s still a bit far fetched but it’s definitely possible considering we’ll more than likely see minato in action during the third war which fugaku was also heavily apart of. For the longest time, I thought the only MS abilities could be unlocked were Tsukiyomi and the Amaterasu. One would spawn flames, and the other, due to the duality, could control them. Then I remembered Kakashi and thought that these two powers were just for Sasuke and Itachi. Then I kept reading and got tired of just being wrong.

I think shin being a tool for orochimaru and his MS ability to control ninja tools is almost ironic
true. Shin also thought of others like tools that you can control. He controls tools with his eyes.
Theory for itachi and sasuke why they got what they did. I think its more to do with fighting style and what they use. We see sasuke mainly use chidori and fire style so he got amaterasu and flame control which allowed him to shape that ability similiar to how he does with chidori. Meanwhile itachi always used a lot of genjutsu and fire style so he got amaterasu and tsukiyome powerful genjustu and essentially fire style move if you were to count his black flames as that.
It's literally a manifestation of what they desire.... Nothing to do with fighting style

While kakashi wanted to eliminate any treat to protect to his comrades so thats why his ability was to teleport the treats away

I don't want her to have Amaterasu in any way! You can think of 1,000 ways she uses it but it doesn't make sense because every other character absorbs techniques or nullifies jutsu, amaterasu got a serious nerf at the end of shipudenna. The same goes for genjutsu. The best option would be a space-time technique at least close to Kamui.
I think Obito’s MS is also a reflection of what he was going through after being crushed by the rocks. It was even stated by Madara that it was as if his body passed through the ground. This is head cannon but I think it was a reflection of Obito’s desire to go and reunite with Ron and Kakashi

hey! i love your videos and i love your explanation but i wanted to point out one thing about Obito's Kamui
in Shippuden Episode 344 (Where Obito flashes back to him awakening in that dank ass Gedo Statue cave with Madara), Madara remarks that it's a miracle that Obito survived despite being crushed by the boulders. Specifically, Madara mentions that it's almost as if they passed right through him.
I would imagine that there's more to Obito's Kamui than just that one moment of seeing his favorite person in the world die in front of him, but I'm not really good at theory crafting. Just a detail I really like. :]
If Shisui was only 16 when he died then we can’t really know for sure how long it takes to use his MS power, unless he used it when he was super young then got it back before he died.
I might be wrong here, but from what I know the 72 hours thing isn't so much a hard limit as it was Itachi taking it really easy on Kakashi (which fits with his goals at the time). According to the wiki Book of Dark Night claimed that Itachi's Tsukuyomi maxed out at ten seconds to the eleventh power which is closer to thirty one hundred years in a real world second. That fits with his whole lifetime dream for Izumi too, since you have to assume from her point of view that was way longer than 72 hours. I think he just held back a ton on Kakashi because if he'd gone longer Kakashi would have gone insane.

Either way Book of Dark Night claimed that was timescale and the 72 hour thing didn't come up until Kakashi which was like a decade later. It might be a strain thing, or even a consequence of Itachi weakening (though that's a hell of a drop in effectiveness so probably not), but I think more likely Itachi didn't want to torture his former captain into insanity and took it easy on him. I can see your point but it just seems more likely the other way to me.
I mean we see that the more too push an ablity the more issue it causes you and well even in book of the day the Illusion does not last that long(though might be due to death of old age of the one in it which is what kills her off)
we have to assume based on the book of the dark night that was released after the whole Kakashi thing that Itachi can control if he himself takes part in the Illusion since he would also take the full mind brunt
also he kind of did torture Kakashi into a coma that by all accounts he should never have been able to wake from
like think 24 hours is the min output of the the eye and over 3180 years is the max though could be he could drop the time dilation lower as well but 72 is what he thinks as the sweet spot between strain on eyes and taking out people with the full power being massively massively overkill since you can fit easily 31 lifetimes into it and 1 lifetimes straight up kills since he does a 24 hours on sasuke after the Kakashi fight seems to be a case where and even that is enough to knock sasuke into a coma he can't wake from on his own
we don't get an exact timeframe from the manga I saw though might in a different area but based on the whole sasuke fell into a coma after 24 hours for over a month and that was with tsunade who never came close to the village probably even less time for him
I always thought that for Itachi, his Amaterasu developed as a metaphor for his will of fire being the strongest there is. And the fact that the flames were black was a great way to illustrate and represent "the fire shadow" as he kept the leaf in times of peace, all without anyone knowing. In the shadows
For Sasuke I always imagined that his Amaterasu was a manifestation of how his hatred burns the hottest. And his flame control technique that was in his other eye, was his way of directing his hatred at anyone or anything he chooses. Just like how he went from hating Itachi, to the Leaf village, to the entire Shinobi world
I've always thought of Obito's version of Kamui because he exists half way in this world and half in the next. Reference to how he was crushed in half, how he's almost like a ghost. And lastly. How he wants to leave this world, and had somehow created his own.
Kakashi's version was much more simple to me. I always imagined it was simply because everything and everyone falls and dies right before his eyes. His father, Obito, Rin, Minato, etc.
Hey Nick, is Sakumo Hatake the best Kenjutsu master in the entirety of Naruto? We know only 2 things about him.
1. He was stronger than all the Legendary Sannin combined
2. He was called the White Fang due to the skillful usage of a white chakra-infused Short Blade
So is it possible that this man was as strong as all the Legendary Sannin _solely_ due to his Kenjutsu abilities

i’m pretty sure that cooldown for koto didn’t affect shisui. It affected others using his eyes like the crow and danzo who then used hashirama cells to lower it to one day
That is exactly correct. He could use it multiple times a day the ten year cool down was only for his eyes separated from him as the weilder. I actually came to the comments just to see if anyone else caught that.
Sarada might not even need to worry about over using her ms because of the hundred healing jutsu. She might be able to just constantly heal while using it similar to what Obito did with white Zetsu, she will also have a MASSIVE chakra pool thanks to that jutsu. I could see her easily being on par with Madara

Ok so a bit of clarification I think, it will only take a decade or more to reuse kotoamatsukami from shisuis eyes because its still in the crow and it's way harder for something or someone other than an uchiha to recharge the chakra needed to perform sharingan abilities. If it was still in shisuis eye sockets, then it would be significantly shorter since he is the owner of the eyes and he has the specific chakra needed to run the eyes to its potential.
I honestly feel like Sarada would have her own abilities or at least her own genjitsu. Through the whole life of the show people complain that she is just a copy of her father or not as good as her uncle. I think her own ms abilities would put her in her own league and give her more development
I'm kinda tired of seeing Amaterasu, it's an overhyped ability that becomes useless towards the end of the anime.
i think sarada is more along the lines of reversing things back to how things were, so i think she may actually get a rewind/ reversal type ability to undo that which comes in the way of her or her friends, (reverse injury, jutsus etc.) remember the abilities of the others she will be fighting lol. For the other ability, i think it will be a new form of amataratsu, the reason being amataratsu is useless in this era, so i think it will be the ability to control actual flames or draw them from another dimention something that the otsuski (forgot how to spell the name lol and cba to check) cant absorb. if not the amataratsu, i feel like it will be the ability to manipulate the susanoo, all uchiha can cast it but none could use it as armour to localise it or even set it on their friends for protection. her second ability will definately be some form of defense.
Nick would it be cool to you if Sarada Left or Right MS was a Force field of some kind since your MS abilities are manifestations of what you want when awaken it. And Sarada wants to protect Boruto.
Where i thought you were going with obito was that he was not able to “accept” any damage from the other ninja, since he said he “couldnt accept any of this” and later was in denial about rins death. So he basically denies the existence of any attacks
I personally think that both kamuis had the same ability, we've seen obito teleporting other people in multiple times, what if kakashi didn't know about teleporting himself?

I hope it’s tsukuyumi just to see the itachi parallel. It would be cool if instead of using it like itachi vs kakashi, she primarily uses it like itachi making that girl see her lifetime in a fraction of a second. Not that exactly, but making it more powerful, less blinding, but on the stipulation that loves the driving force, not pain and torture
I would love for Sarada to develop her own version of Amaterasu, but using white flames, that illuminates rather than darkens the world around her, but is otherwise the same in terms of ability. White hot, indistinguishable fire would also fit into the symbolism of the Sun and the light it provides. Amaterasu in general works in the metaphorical sense that the indistinguishable flames could be a representation for eternal love and The Will of Fire, fitting for someone who is likely going to be a Hokage.

She could, but sasukes old eyes are long gone, they would've been in obitos wall and that was destroyed and I doubt sasuke was just walking about with his old eyes in a little tube
Shizune can take his eyes out temporarily and can make new eyes for him to make new sharingan since the sharingan's activation requires special chakra into the Uchiha's eyes and since he would have it (I assume) he could at least be able to make a base sharingan and then make a MS
Kakashi used kamiu on himself. He teleported from the dimension to the real world.
Even madara used kakashis kamui on himself. Obito just cant do it at a long range, and kakashi cant phase through objects. The Base use of teleporting you/things into kamui is pretty much identical.
At 02:27 looking at the designs on the Sharingan it feels like Shisui's implies that Four Tomoe are possible too as many divide into 3 identical sections Shisui's essentially could be quartered opposed to by thirds 🤔
Regarding the mangekyou sharingan that Kakashi and obito awoke. My general theory or head canon about it is that everybody in the Naruto universe releases that chakra that Tobirama mentioned when he was explains to Sasuke how the sharingan awakens but not everybody has the ability to manifest a Sharingan like the Uchiha. So I believe it’s the physical eye the uchiha has not a special chemical or chakra in their brain that is released. As I have stated I think everybody had this chakra that is released by everybody when a severe emotional reaction occurs. So I do believe the ability awoken in Kakashi is of his own nature.
You know kakashi can transport stuff out of kamui dimension as well, right nick? He sent all of 8 tails through it to shove a 10 tails tailed beast bomb down its throat with his own tailed beast bomb

So I have a theory and it might seem a little crazy but hear me out, and we’re going to start like we usually do, at the beginning. First, since all other MS’s were awakened due to some sort of a negative emotion due to killing someone close to you, it makes sense that those negative actions would have to continue to get an EMS by taking your brothers eyes. With Sarada it is completely different with her awakening it from positive emotions associated with love. It is also said that love is eternal and it’s shown that hatred disappears with time, tying into the end of the cycle of hatred. So if the trend continues it means she would not have to “take her brothers eyes” to awaken an EMS. Also the fact that emotions associated with love are typical stronger than emotions associated with hate, means I think Sarada has awakened to a stronger version of an MS, that being an EMS. This would also allow her to spam her EMS abilities without the fear of going blind which would be cool to see. But what do I know I’m just a guy on the internet typing out a random theory. Let me know what you guys think down in the comments.😉

I once heard a justification for unique sharingon abilities once being that since people's occular stuff are connected to so many different parts of the brain, and because everyone's brain runs somewhat differently (different synapses or something like that idk im not a neuroscientist), it causes different abilities to manifest and the possibilities are nearly unlimited. I do not know where i heard this...
If Kakashi can only send “other things” to the Kamui dimension like you claim, how did he pull himself out of the Kamui dimension when Obito put him there after his reveal?
Sarada having Amaterasu makes sense, especially if Fugaku has it, which would point to it being a blood line thing.
But I personally beleive she’ll have something we’ve never seen before, because she is an Uchiha like we’ve never seen before

Can we not ignore that Sasukes development of flame control was when he was about to kill Karen. Which is a huge thing about the sharingan. Like imagine what abilities Hamura got after killing his two most loyal members. The circumstances matter heavily
I always saw Kakashi's Kamui as a way for him to protect others. He lost Obito and then Rin RIGHT after that (among probably everyone else he's lost in the war) so i can imagine in that moment hes thinking about how he never wants that to happen again
I've been thinking alot about Sarada and Shisui. I REALLY believe that she will get kotoamatsukami. Only because I feel like it's a great way to tie back in a jutsu we rarely saw being used, butbis talked about so much. I really do think she will get it. And it makes sence seeing as it's been decades since itachi used the last koto eye that was entrusted to him a LOOOOONG time ago at this point in the Naruto universe.

I think Sarada's MS genjutsu will be the ability to cancel out Aeda's reality rewriting for people. It fits with what she needs and they can make it less OP by making it only use-able at a certain time interval, and at the beginning, only on one person at a time

Sarada's Mangekyo Ability was something more original. Something like the Ability to Remove Genjutsu.
Conversely, Kakashis kamui ability to put things into the karma dimension represents their shared desire to keep rin safe. It lets one make the kamui dimension their "ideal" world by keeping their loved ones safe
It would be kinda interesting if she unlocks Amateratsu in one eye but in the other eye, like how Sasuke can control the flames, she can control what the flames burn whether it be something physical or effects like genjutsu and Shinjutsu have on others without physically harming them.
"Ame no uzume" the name of sarada's mangekyou sharingan ability along with "tsukyomi".
You can read lore on ame no uzumi but for those who don't feel like it... basically, she's the goddess of dawn and revelry. In the tale of "the missing sun deity, Amaterasu", susanoo, amaterasu's brother scares her into a cave. The other gods couldn't get her to come out but ame no uzumi danced, stripped and caused a commotion by the entrance causing the other gods to laugh in turn making amaterasu come out from hiding.
The point of that story and how it relates to sarada is, well, boruto, even though a representation of the moon he's also her sun as he is mitsuki's sun and she will do whatever it takes to get her sun out of hiding. If you get what I mean.
Edit: I didn't explain what I think the ability would be in naruto terms. It'll probably be a genjutsu as she'd do anything for her sun OR another fire related ability as she is the god of Dawn (time of day the sun starts to shine).
Her eyes and Sasuke's eyes BOTH look like the sun. Sasuke has two flame related abilities. Maybe she will as well.

Aye, here's an idea. Instead of being able to control her black flames like sasuke can, Sarada might have an ability to where she can change the property of amatarasu from being a destructive fireball to being healing flames like Nezuko or Marco. The one thing she's said to have struggled with is medical ninjutsu and a way the writers could cover that is giving her an MS ability that can operate like medical ninjutsu
i kinda have a weird theory that could kinda explain why shisui's eye in the crow had a cooldown that lasted a decade. Dunno if anyone else thought of this before. So what if the whole cooldown is due to the eye kinda getting "recharged" or refilled with chakra (uchihas might have a high chakra "recharge" cuz it's basically their eyes and they have tons of chakra too, danzo had plot cells which gave him the recharge he needed to use it that frequently). So my assumption is the crow being an animal would have like low chakra reserves and so it would take it that long to mold enough chakra to reach the threshold needed to activate the eye. So if it was someone else like naruto, or literally anyone else it would probably be a shorter cooldown (including shisui). It kinda makes sense but i dunno. Anyways cool vid dude. Cheers from Egypt.

Instead of Amateratsu, I would prefer if she unlocked Kagetsuchi so she can control the flames, because they'd be more useful that way. Also, I hope they actually do something. So far Amateratsu is seen killing someone exactly one time, (in the hands of Itachi), and Kagetsuchi injures someone once, (the Fourth Raikage).
With only Kagetsuchi she would be able to control the flames but she wouldn't have any flames to control, Amaterasu summons the flames that Kagetsuchi controls
Itachi eyes: amaterasu to burn away the past trauma of konoha
sasuke eyes: flame control to burn away a a legacy and rebuild from the ground
obito eyes: dimension control to take his friends away from this harsh reality and keep them safe
madara eyes: pinnacle of destruction and used to conduct revolution for him and his clan
Personally I think Sarada will have Amaterasu + kagutsuchi in one eye and in the other some sort of ability that allows the objective truth to be illuminated to those affected by genjutsu or their personal perceptions. It doesn't even have to do it immediately or entierly it can just plant a seed and that would be enough.
My prediction of Nick milking Chapter 80 for Sarada like a Milky Milf Cow was right.
Wonder if Amatarasu itself will go through a change? It's black flames for Itachi and Sasuke, but what if with Sadara's takes on a different trait? The cycle is over, she got her MS through different means. Perhaps it'll change to flames to be white, to be a beckon of light.

At least for me, I love how ya interpret Kakashi and Obito, but, a small spin on it, of the Mangekyo manifesting who they want to be. Obits wants to more or less erase himself and have people move through him, because he has one goal in mind, and is forgetting himself. He's more than okay to influence those who go through him, but won't stop them unless he wants to. Kakashi, he wants to not see things anymore. He doesn't want to "see" his own pain, his own suffering, he wants to not have it in his sight anymore, he wants it all gone, so he doesn't have reminders of it.

I think Obito’s MS ability is a reflection of him wanting to be wherever he wanted to be to protect the ones he wanted to protect. He told Minato that he wasn’t there when Rin was in trouble. So when he wanted to be there to reach quickly and protect Rin, but he was too late. And even after Minato being fast, he wasn’t fast enough.
it would be funny if her abilites would be tsukuyomi and amaterasu carbon copy of itachi but still get caught in mirai genjutsu and it would be a nostalgia for sasuke
I imagine Sarada's MS ability would be like a "truth" genjutsu which clears the target's mind from any genjutsu/control or suggestions and compels them to follow their own true intuition.
I figured Amaterasu was to symbolize the “leaving no evidence behind” mentality of a true shinobi
well in chapter 609 obito himself says kakashi awakened his MS (he says "you've really honed and mastered that left eye, even awakening the mangekyou"). i also think another explaination as to why he got the "kamui that takes" is that maybe he wishes he had the ability to remove rin from his trajectory
Obito's awakening condition for Kakashi's kamui could have been wanting to protect Rin yet being unable to reach her.

i always thought of kakashi’s ms representing everything he loves disappearing in front of his eyes, and obito’s ms representing him as a “ghost” someone that to those of his past life doesn’t exist anymore. pretty much the same take you had but with a small twist
lol. Obito is solely responsible for both Kamui, when he saw Rin die! both eyes are complimentary. Kakashi was just fortunate that Obito was still living. He probably would be stuck with an ordinary sharingan
2:45 Well Shin's ability does make sense for his personality though. He was made to be a weapon, and so manifested a Mangekyou that allowed him to manipulate weapons.
I think Sarada's MS ability will be to reveal truth or destroy deception. She might get Amaterasu, but that doesn't really seem like her character. Maybe the second one will be related to fire, maybe even light. Like some ability to shine light, like literally, upon deception revealing the truth.
Obito's ability fits his character in so many ways. He can disappear in reality, and from the past. It was the moment where obito disappeared and decided to become madara. He is a physical ghost in the flesh and Kakashi's life.

Don't forget that in Obito's mind when he almost died that would have been a great ability to have at that moment that probably also played into him phasing his body out

Madaras abilities have been confirmed in the games it basically regular sharingan abilities but boosted to the max… with one eyes being able to analyze his opponents attacks and movements while the other eye can go back in time to negate the attacks

While I think Sarada's MS having Tsukuyomi or Kotoamatsukami does make sense, it's also possible it could be a genjutsu that forces people to see the truth of reality in some way whether they want to or not. Which not only ties in to her character, but also the sun design as the sun and light are both commonly associated with the concept of truth. Not to mention the fact that the mangaka has gone out of his way to make Boruto as a series different from Naruto and her getting a genjutsu that already existed AND Amaterasu may be too similar to Itachi for the mangaka to consider it.
Sarada getting either koto amatsukami or tsukuyomi is resonable. If right i think koto is more likely. Though we may not know what tsukuyomi can do other than torturing, koto would provide the possibility to hit sasuke and thus turning him back to borutos side. After all we need some plot to explain why boruto wears sasukes sword and cloak after the timeskip. I guess sasuke will die in a situation where he has to protect both sarada and boruto against kawaki. Or maybe in the upcoming battle for konoha against code.
If sarada turns him with koto both options are there
