- Today we take a look at an all new playset inspired by the Palitoy play sets of old. The Baron's Lair playset is created by Paleetoy with a vac formed base and cardboard walls and comes packed in a retro style box and fits perfectly with the Action Force Red Shadows toys. Let's put the set together and see what it looks like.

I love seeing a Star Wars playset repurposed for another toyline, it's so fun! The Ewok Village, Geonosis Arena, and Mustafar Lava playset all got the "repurpose" treatment for Robin Hood, GI Joe, and Indiana Jones respectively. This is so creative!
Lee really manages to capture the simple elegance of the playsets of the era. This is a “must have” for any Action Force fan. Thank you for sharing. Cheers!
Thanks Dave. Great review. Lee (Paleetoys)
Brilliant art work lee.
My pleasure!
The Red Shadows and the playset are so cool, I would have loved to have it as a kid.
I like the "ages 40 and above"...! 😍 It's really remarkable how quickly you attach the stickers with such precision... regardless of the fact that you've sped up the video at this point... 👍
Thank you! 😊
BLOOD FOR THE BARON!!!
That's pretty cool. Just took a look at the website, as well. Very cool indeed!
Just fantastic mate
I love seeing all the cool stuff they come up with are toys are now art..🎨
That is brilliant. Would have got this as a birthday present back in the day.
Awesome playset and review 🤘
That is a really cool playset and for displaying it is awesome. If the manufacturers of the excellent Baron's Lair ever read my comment. Here is a minor suggestion have the portrait of the Baron with dagger slashes going across the painting and rename it the Major's Lair. To reflect a time in the Action Force story line.
I dont collect this line but this is very impressive, I hope he does more different sets, something for army builders, options are endless for scenes.
Got to love that Baron Ironblood was basically Ned Kelly crossed with Benito Mussolini! Lol!!
Now Lee will likely distribute an ACTION FORCE playset for the good guys. Can’t wait to see what that looks like! 🇬🇧
Brilliant review. I want one! Love the creative process with these playsets they really enhance ur figures.
What a cool set. Such a brilliant way to display vintage Red Shadows!
So true this; yet Red Shadows are the only Cabal I know with TWO logo; a skull/crossbones and twin ‘K’ back-to-back. (I wonder which one is more correct?)
I agree; and all you really have to do is replace the card backdrop and floor colour to completely change the scene! I’m thinking a grey flooring with ACTION FORCE motif for the next one ( or maybe Lee will surprise us with a recreated reissue of the original ‘sphere’ headquarters; wouldn’t THAT be Prime!)
I'd love to do more AF, but it comes down to sales. This has sold OK, but could do with a few more to make future AF projects worthwhile. @@chrismayer3919
Great video Dave! I love seeing all the action force stuff. Very creative playset, bravo Paleetoy!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great diorama really like it!
Fun set thanks for sharing !
Thanks for watching!
That's cool
Hey Dave
Looks like a fun set to play with, well passed 40yrs...haha😉
Take care 😊
So if you’re under 40 then you can’t have it? WAAAAA!!! 😭
@@chrismayer3919
Haha😉
I meant to write from 3 well beyond 40yrs.
baron ironblood, lol, what a fun name.
Looks great, would have loved to have that back in the days when I was playing with my figures. Tempted now as a display piece, but I'm not sure I have the shelf space available ... hmmm
Fits in a Deltof ikea cabinet
I strongly suspect that the 'not a mouse droid sticker' is there simply because, like the playset itself, the tooling from the sticker cutter from the previous version was used. He had to cut something out in that size, and a the skull was an obvious option.
Yep, that’s what I did. Cheaper to use the same tooling so I just added it as an extra.
@@user-fr9rk8ez3h Did you make the Imperial emblem part of the vac mold swappable, or did you have to replace that part of the original vac mold to get the Red Shadows skull?
Yeah, it can be swapped out. Again saves on cost.
@@user-fr9rk8ez3h It's always good to think ahead whenever possible.
Fantastic! Did you do a Muton restoration video I'm unaware of?
Not yet!
These are awesome, maybe they'll make a gi joe or cobra themed one next?
I can do that
I'd like these even more if they had footpegs.
this night club has 2 dj stations!
I think Lee modified the final artwork to make it a little less "third reich". Those prototype banners look a lot like some evil from past times. Great set and smart use of his earlier molds/bucks. Great stuff as always!
Where can I purchase one and how much are they Dave ?
The information is in his description.
There are only so many ways I can say links in the description in every video. So, check out the links in the description.
Daft Punk at the concoles?
Cool set, and I love to support a small business.
However, at €100 its too expensive for what it is. €50 maybe (yes, I understand scale does relate to cost).
Side note, the Muton visors look strange / the colour is off. Are the repro ?
Thanks for the comments. The Muton head gear is mostly repros. They are a bit pinker that the orignals.
@@toypolloi thought so, the headgear is difficult to get these days. Where did you get them ?
They came from StonegateCreations.com
Must be a UK thing bc I've never heard of Action Force here in the US. 🤔
In the US you had G.I.Joe, in the UK we had Action Force that later took in some of the Joe figures and vehicles.
They are not cheap...plus no shipping to CANADA ...
We regularly ship to Canada.
In America, the enemy would yell ‘COBRAAAA!!!’ In England, the enemy might yell ‘SHADOWWWWS!!!’ (Although I know that the battle cry was actually ‘BLOOD FOR THE BARON!!!’)
OK, I'm a yank. I cut my gums on OG ninja turtles so if you or someone could explain sometime. I'm guessing it was a company that worked with GI Joe and Star Wars.
Palitoy were a UK based toy company that made Action Man and had the license for Star Wars among many other things.
I understand that independent toys can never be as affordable as the mass market ones but £85 for cardboard, vacuumed plastic and stickers?? 😬
The Red Baron is taking Brexit a little too serious by the looks of it... Britain isn't even on the map on the screen!
