The heat and humidity here has been intense. I've not tried shade cloth before.

Yeah it's been pretty bad! We already had a heatwave last week, but now we are in triple digits for at least 5 days and even when it cools down a bit, it's still going to be way too hot! The shade cloth I only use during heatwaves that are longer than 3 days, and I do find it helps a lot!
