Use moisturizer around your eyes first before putting the retinol on your face - if possible wait until moisturizer is dry. That should hopefully help that issue or maybe the strength of the retinol is to high for your skin overall. Im no dermatologist, just giving unsolicited suggestion that might not work for you lol. I use that method.
I try to skip it under my eyes all together
