The Jungfrau Eiger Walk leads from the Eigergletscher station, on a well developed path, steadily downhill to Kleine Scheidegg. On the route, which can also be walked in the opposite direction, there are wooden stelae which take you through the history of the Eiger North Face.
Even before you reach the Fallbodensee, the path leads past the old Mittellegi mountain hut, which used to be on the north-east ridge of the Eiger. In the hut you get an insight into the barren life of the alpine pioneer era. A little further on is the "Chilchli", which used to serve as a transformer station for the Jungfrau Railway. Today it houses an exhibition on the history of the Eiger north face crossing. Opposite is the Fallbodensee, the lake was artificially created and used to serve as a water reservoir for the snow-making of the surrounding ski slopes. The benches by the water invite you to linger.Follow the path further until you reach the Kleine Scheidegg mountain station.
